Claiming that all ships and systems will now be named generic names is doomsaying.

Nobody is. It is a step into a wrong direction and we are giving feedback about it. You are the only one here accusing others of “doing things” that they never did. Maybe take a lesson in rhetoric and you might understand what those examples are about. But to be honest, I doubt you do even understand that I try to actually help you to get better in discussions. ![]()
The posts are still up there. No one’s removed them. Keep saying it never happened. It’s fun. The posts can still be read.

Thank you for proving my point.
Damn woman, you sound like my second ex-wife, she wanted everything I had too. Any chance you look like her? Here is her photo.
Oh dear, it looks like @Glenduil had picked a fight with the entire room again.

What happens here is a certain kind of people corroding ideas and opinions they do not like but have zero arguments against. They twist and turn said things beyond recognition, insult, play psycho mind games and ragebait others into derailing the initial topic with their reactions on the bait.
No one discussing what i wrote, everyone jumping in on a trolls game. Tactic worked well again so far. Hope mods recognize this and act accordingly.

Oh Zaera

The only people who are going to advocate for change of something are those who care about the issue. Not the people who don’t care about the issue. Over here, we have people who supposedly don’t care about the issue coming on and arguing against the right of others to advocate for it. Because why? You don’t like freedom of speech? You’re bothered by other people caring about something you don’t care about? That’s highly hypocritical, if true.
Make a thread titled ‘Other forum members suck all fun out of forums by not having the same viewpoints as myself’ and quit trolling this thread. You’ll look less pathetic that way.
Oh thats’s not true - for sufficient isk, me and my minions can care aswell.
I am sorry, I did agree with what you had said about this topic. The point here is;
a) emersion is not about reality
b) generic content ruins the emersion and this leads to a dull game
c) while this may appear small or trivial it opens a door to more vast changes
Let me whip out my crystal ball, as I said, been here and done this. Next season or sometime this year, they ( the CCP team ) will make one or more of these suggestions. to add more to this game.
We can do more with less - this is where they will downsize the physical universe. They will claim there is “wasted” space in outer space and we need to simply compress it. Then there will be more people playing in more systems this way. The small corp with a Raitaru will find themselves moved from their corner in null. Their new neighbors will be the 2 or 3 Goonswarm stations in their new digs. There won’t be anyone playing solo anywhere, you will always have some company.
Too many modules - someone will restructure all the ships with fitted rigs. This has already happened somewhat with the new built in mining scanners, but I have yet to read anything negative about it. They will remove the rigs and the rig slots and just include the ones the ship works with best and don’t worry about repacking, you never lose them.
3D Character customization - there is no point to having 3D characters when simple 2D icons will suffice from the very start. They will still offer some kind of minor monetized icon flavor, but all the characters will be reduced to 2D images without any 3D interaction. This should be very popular with the same people who spend their plex on boots!
There are so many of these special projects the hatchet men do to make the game easy, simple, and downsized. Why do they do this? When they fire people working on the game, they can run it on a skeleton crew. This new crew won’t even need to understand as much as the old crew did, so they get paid less. It all comes down to money. Should the company need to sell the game off, it makes restaffing so much easier.
I don’t think any of these would actually happen. It sounds more like something ChatGPT would come up with than something circulating in a CCP employees head ![]()
To me they seem to be a bit aimless at times with their “simplifying things”. New 2D map for example is great; i use both the new and old one. Old one for immersion, it just feels way more like actual space. New one is easier to navigate. They did rename all the meta modules years ago to reflect their properties, this was great. Changing Iteron Mk. XY to Miasmos, Kryos, Epithal… was a great choice too since its easier to remember than iterations of the same ship name when they have different purpose.
They certainly had good intentions too by “simplifying” the ore names, but a lot of flavor has been lost in the process in this one. Immersion-wise, old one-legged Captain McRae becoming space rich by exploiting a huge Omber-III deposit certainly is anti-climatic. The Omber that made him a fortune was and will ever have been “golden” - like his skin implants.
I think a better way to make it easier would have been to maybe add the bonus % to the ore name in brackets. Or give the different variants a slightly different icon. A little colored flag on the info window image like we have for faction or officer mods, with a I, II or III in it for the grade… so many possible solutions. Here, CCP really picked the worst available.
Oh @Glenduil
Glenduil, Zaera, get a room.
I agree.
My miner had a fun short bio about ore types that falls completely flat with the new unimaginative names.
It’s awful.
If you read my earlier posting, it did happen on more than one online game I use to play. The man with the plan, came in and demolished the game, using doubletalk, and telling everyone he was going to make the soup better through reduction. I know there is not much a player can do at that point but leave the game or continue playing. I am not saying the game is dying either, it will slowly become like those others. They no longer command the massive population as they once did before. I think the only chance Eve players have to reverse this, would be the CSM community. However from what I heard in Mike’s last vlog, sounds to me like CCP are pulling the teeth on that old tiger.
As for AI, I don’t need a machine, I think for myself. I tell you from experience not some cooked up fairytale by a robot.
Wanna join us ?
A good soldier uses the tools at his disposal. However one never consults with a grenade on good field tactics.
So that is it? We get stuck with this and there is no one to consult with on a more official level? I seriously amazed this massive change was given the green light.
What about that CSM outfit I keep reading about? Do I need to pick up my phone and call Iceland? Are all the avenues exhausted at this point?
