CCP Totally Failed it's Hsec players

It’s always a little ironic seeing so many ‘Eve must change for noobs’ posts from people who, by definition, survived being a noob. If an overall carebear like me can survive being gate camped and ganked as a noob and still be in the game over 2 years later…why can’t anyone else ?

That’s just because you were being griefed by known forum griefers like Aiko, Destiny, and Io Koval (illegal psychopaths who should’ve been banned a long time ago), so you ended up getting corrupted and turning into a griefer yourself.

If you weren’t groomed into becoming a criminal, you would’ve played normally, and as such would’ve been very dissatisfied with EVE like all the normal players due to all the PvP grief-play that CCP shoves down everyone’s throat. Your gameplay was ruined, so you ended up staying (probably out of spite, so you could ruin it for others). If you had the properly-cooperative experience and actually had fun and enjoyed yourself, there’s no way you would’ve kept playing, because other normal players don’t.

As far as I could imagine there will always be a certain distrust if suggested changes go unanswered.

Even a simple NO from an Official would be appreciated.

Currently the best solution is to keep asking and hope some other Capsuleers catch on to the suggestion for changes to be made as a Community in whole.

This new system would have a greater chance (not entirely but close) to doing 2 key things. One, it would increase the chances (not to 100% but increase them) that players of relatively the same “eve age” would find themselve in conflct.

It would be interesting to remove warp scrambling of any kind in some places so players can feel each other out without it being a matter of life and death from the beginning of the engagement.

In that case players may feel more comfortable flying some expensive stuff and the goal becomes to have the other person or group warp away before you do. The ramifications of this will be overall positive i think.

For example people in big expensive stuff will likely find cheap fits and ships trying to go the distance with them and failing. And every once in a while someone in a cheap ship and fit manages to kill someone in an expensive one because it still had a weakness and he was too stubborn to warp away. This is just scratching the surface tho.

The Jovians are supposedly the 5th empire faction and they have space on the north east of the map. They isolated themselves. If/when this space opens up, i imagine they would be neutral to everyone but prohibit any kind of warp disruption in their systems. Meaning its banned. (You can argue they have ship scanners on all stations and gates that make sure nobody has warp disrupter or scrams etc. fitted.)

So technically its low sec but you aren’t allowed to warp scramble anyone. It would be something different and i think it would be popular assuming the rewards to come there in the first place are good enough :).

I know. Attention span for ants? But read the whole comment some time  Thank you

You overestimate your importance bear

It seems to me PVP will become more sportsmanlike in places where PVP was allowed but warp disruption of any kind was not

If you’re looking for a fair fight in eve, go to an arena. If you get caught in a fair fight, one or both of you F’ed up.

It seems like there would be more room for experimentation in areas where PVP was on but warp disrupting was off. That does not mean engagements will get more fair or sportsmanlike for that matter  But they might

It’s a great idea and I’m surprised no one has thought of it before.

To be honest, CCP should’ve made PvP so that the fight ends when the first player reaches 1 hit point left, just like in WoW duels. That way EVE players can have all the PvP they want, but no one has to feel griefed, which hurts CCP’s income when players get upset and quit.

I for one like the possibility of hitpoints reaching 0 and there being consequences for that. But when you combine that with warp disruption it just becomes too hardcore. I wonder why it was ever introduced.

Probably the developers at the time and their friends were the best at the game and were tired of people who never even stood a chance warping off.

That will just encourage players to grief other players by using bumps and alpha strikes.

If you forcefully end duels at 1 HP, you avoid that entire issue and everyone can have fun.

Because it’s a core part of the world and has been 5ever, from lore to mechanics.

Grasping at straws now?

What happened to “High sec used to mean something”?

@Dchill is clearly a troll that needs to be slapped in the face with a wet fish.

I posit that warp disruption was introduced because the developers at the time and their friends were the best at the game and were tired of people who never even stood a chance warping off.

Someone said that was grasping at straws but didnt give his own reason for warp disruption

Someone else said its been like that forever and hinted toward some lore

Please forgive me for not changing my opinion on that matter based on the responses so far

Forgiveness comes at a cost- for you 1 billion ISK.
