CCP Totally Failed it's Hsec players

For the first time i’m writing my opinion-rant about high-security space ganking, because i’m tired of the goddamn crying.

You always need two (2) parties for a ‘problem’ or interaction.
CODE. Safety. ect would probably not even exist if it wasn’t for all the AFK miners and auto-piloting shuttles with 100.000.000.000 ISK worth of skill injectors or extractors in cargo that you can use remotely.

It’s a multiplayer game. It’s a sandbox game. Create content. Destroy content. Modify content. Ganking is so goddamn easy to avoid if you’re actually playing the game while playing the game.
Stop crying and log in to play the game not to use asteroids as passive tamagotchi that doesn’t get fed.

Praise Aiko. Ganking is good. Ganking is super fun too. And it probably makes the most money the easiest or fastest way and it isn’t the gankers fault it’s your fault. Miner.

In self defense ofcourse.

Long, long ago, my little merry band of mercs received PvP lessons from one of those Elite null-sec PvP’ers and his org. They told us that they would kick sand in our Vs, shortly before a battle , following which the elite null-sec PvP’ers org disbanded.

Wow lots of likes for this comment - not sure why - it’s completely irrelevant to the discussion. I guess people like irrelevant analogies that sound funny.

Losing pieces in chess is not harrassment. SOmetimes its intentionally part of your strategy, but usually its unfortunate for you and a sign you are losing the particular game. But you know this. You know that harrassment would instead be moving my chess pieces with your hand. YOu know that harrassment would be farting in my face when i’m trying to make my next move.

What you fail to understand in trying to make this analogy is that EVE is a pseudo free-for-all where instead of prescribed rules that both parties agree upon and follow as they compete to win, as in chess or poker, the very definition of winning and competing is at the discretion of the players themselves, and there are few actual rules of conduct that all players must abide by. There are some, but it’s a “thou shalt not” list instead of “how to play”.

Okay Mary, maybe this game isn’t for you if you are so tired of opinions other than yours. I hear there is a whole mom’s dusty basement to explore outside of your computer screen…

Come back if you want to respectfully engage. If you don’t know what respect is, go ask your mom - you won’t find it on these forums.

Haha, they edited my post even though it’s 100% true.

No surprise. CCP has been in white-washing damage control mode for their dying game for the past decade.

Shadmoor, why are you crying? Silent Company had two fat glistening pulls this weekend, didn’t you have fun mining?

I’m starting to think that CCP has totally failed its gankers.

His mom probably locked him in the basement till he learns some respect - cheeky bugger that he is.

Still here, sorry.

I decided to play the game for a bit. Turns out I don’t just “cry” on forums, I play the game too - go figure.

That is good, staying in that basement isn’t too healthy though. Id’ get out once in a while and touch some grass.

@Shadmor_Fatbutt here you go. Plenty of reasons to have a mining permit. Even artificial intelligence knows that.

I’ve offered Shadmoor a special bonus if he purchases five (5) mining permits.

In my heyday (circa 2013-2016) a lot of Highsec residents seemed to be Nullseccers mining on alts. Is that still the case?

If CCP had ‘totally’ failed its (no apostrophe needed) ‘Hsec players’ - wouldn’t they all have left?

Ganking is fun, frolicsome and wholesome entertainment. Even your Grandma can do it (if she can learn the mechanics, overcome the reflex requirements, shrug off the carebear vitriol, afford the subs, losses, tags, etc.).

CCP has the task of retaining the trust of diametrically opposed factions, in Highsec. Is it surprising that such a delicate balancing act sometimes goes belly-up?

Now if he had only bought the mining permits in the first place

I would like to highlight just a few posts over the past day that illustrate attacks rather than productive discussion. TO some of these, I’ve already replied, sometimes with equally adversarial language to try to meet them where they are. Others I will just leave because there’s only so much time in the day. I do wish to respond to some of the more-respectful comments though, even if I disagree. If you don’t care what I have to say about it, just don’t respond or read it. If you do care, know that comments like the ones above will get you nothing other than applause from your echo chamber. No change in my opinion and probably no change in CCP’s game decisions in your favor.

In summary:

Stop whining miner

Would anyone else like to demonstrate antisocial, harassing behavior?

What do you want us to say?

Your whining is harrassment.

Cease immediately

Oh…it’s quiet on here suddenly…DId you all realize that you might be violating a number of points on CCP’s Real-Life Harassment and Threats Policy? What I would like you to do, Mary Forcades, is treat other players who share their opinions, including myself, with respect. You do not have to agree with me, but you are not allowed to harass or intimidate.

Real-Life Harassment & Threats Policy

October 23, 2023 16:38

CCP is firmly committed to maintaining a community where real-life harassment and threats are not tolerated and treated with the utmost seriousness and severity.

As the custodians and caretakers of the virtual worlds we maintain, we believe that both our players and developers should be free to experience them without the worry of facing real-life harassment, toxicity, or threats while they play.

This policy outlines the types of conduct that we consider detrimental to the health of the community, as well as how CCP will respond to to these situations.

This policy also contains resources and advice for those who feel that they are being threatened or attacked.

Harassment:

Harassment has no place in our community and is not tolerated. CCP works closely with the EVE Community and various third parties to ensure an appropriate approach to these cases.

The types of behaviour that we consider to be harassment include but are not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse
  • Abusive messaging
  • Real world stalking
  • Online stalking
  • Social Media stalking
  • Encouraging or enabling self-harm
  • Doxing
  • Racism
  • Sexism
  • Hate speech
