CCP. You can make more money

You know when you try to watch a movie on like CNN or something and the ad for Ford pickup trucks and Cialis play just great but the actual content you want just locks up and goes to ■■■■…?

Let’s not mention the number of computers infected a day with malware that came in via an ad from a legit network…

What about in-station TV-billboards?
Imagine if they’ll become clickable as current in-game links…

Be careful with desires!

I just want Eve funded well, that is my desire. Perhaps the ads could focus on PC Hardware for gamers? I’d have no problem at all with subtle adverts related to games platforms. The list of possible clients is long, Corsair, Coolermaster, Intel, AMD, Samsung, Gigabyte, Nvidia, The sales pitch would be something like “Eve offers a direct vehicle to your prospective gamer customers”.

I think the best position would be jump gates, since the player would be alert and actively playing. Lets get real travelling is pretty boring in Eve.

“We will implement your system jump in a moment, but first a word from today’s gate sponser!”

Here’s an idea.
How about interesting novels based on Eve.
Like there used to be. Back when there were people playing the game and caring about it.

I’m assuming this is a joke.

Doesn’t produce enough profits… an online EVE themed mobile CCG MMO with lots of microtransactions and pay2win cash shop items on the other hand…

You mean taking advantage of endorphin-triggering apps and autism.
File that under “why civilization collapsed”… ahead of time

i think TV has it covered when it comes to adverts, that and facebook. billboards in public places, oh oh and buses and trains infact all transport, the beginning of all movies, shows and concerts.

yea i think there’s enough adverts in the world, i get you thought this might be good for CCP and in turn us.

but no thanks.

Real life comercials on the billboards?

Really?
I mean REALLY?

“The following fight is sponsored by PEPSI”

Is this what you want?

10 years, even 5 years, even 2 years ago you would have been slaughtered in the forum for even posting that crap…

Verbally of course.

MOSTLY.
There were cases in the past in which someone “visited” his mmog PVP opponent in real life and showed him how real life PVP works

I’m not sure if this happened in this game but it surely happend

Just google it…

And btw “slaughtered in the forum” implies just in the forum …

Try actually reading my responses it really isn’t that difficult. My recent post talked about advertising PC equipment, like Acer, Corsair, Coolermatser, AMD, Intel, Anyone that makes the hardware that is used as a platform to play Eve on.

It’s not my fault that you have no understanding that some of these companies have lots of money to throw at a decent marketing campaign. Your perception is limited and you can’t see past the cotton wool you’ve been wrapped in.

You couldn’t even slaughter a chicken if your life depended on it.

So you would gladly buy overpriced AMD Raven SKIN? I have to tell Hilmar.

Just tell me the difference between a pc equipment advertising and that of a softdrink,

Both are an opened pandoras box and THIS should NEVER EVER happen…

Agreed. Advertising in a game that we pay for is just not good idea. There are countless reasons I can come up with that this should never be a thing. Security, cost, etc.
Just say no.
However if the new owners get wind even one… Person… Thinks it’s fine, we can scream no but get the Vaseline anyway

I wouldn’t mind ads…

…but only if they’re on the screen in the Captain’s quarters.

I got quafe and ship ads and music videos from you tube, self made news feeds and slideshows with space music and spaceships screenschoots from EVE, converting and playing on that screen back in the times. It was a good thing. :relaxed:

The best was that it had sound and you could have whole music library videos converted playing there, or if you wish some XXX Gallente holoreels to video format. While playing some 0.1 ISK wars.

Also helped few other players to make it work, and after CCP moved to Webm format in the game.

PC Equipment is something many Eve enthusiasts talk about, In my years of playing I have always enjoyed talk about the tech industry and what happens within it, I’ve even enjoyed listening in on alliance teamspeak and hearing someone show off about the Rig they got for Eve. The fact is many of us love Eve online, so it wouldn’t be an issue that we also have love for the platform that we can play Eve on. CCP keeps us well informed about the hardware they use as the platform for Eve.

I am trying to look at this as more of a partnership based on events outside the game, things like retail are being affected by the economy and generally it looks like some people will have less money to spend on leisure time which would include Eve Online.

The partnership would be the big companies would become a sponsor for Eve online and could place small and subtle adverts within the Eve universe, so for instance on long 50 jump hauls you might see 3 or 4 subtle adverts or brand names for these tech companies.

It could also work the other way, CCP could get some tech companies to put an Eve online advert within their hardware sale which may result in more subscribers. What I am really suggesting is that related companies work together to brave the economic climate.
