CCP, your event sucks

Eve isn’t a PvP game. It’s a PvPvE sandbox. You can’t have the PvP portion if no one builds the ships or the ammo. Not unless you want everyone sitting in corvettes.

Actually it’s PvPvEvE because the NPC factions also fight vs one another. Some would argue it’s PvPvEvEvCCP since the devs are also playing a balancing act between the players and environment. Some articles argue that CCP is deliberately moving against its players sometimes.
Of course none of what you’ve just read
… ever happened.

Have you checked his posting history?

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Technically, EvE is EvE.

That’s not the case here.

To match your example, you bought the burger and got it exactly as advertised. While eating your burger, an employee came over and hands you a free cookie, and you complain that your free cookie is chocolate chip when you wanted a macadamia nut cookie.

You pay for Omega access to the game, not for a seasonal event. No one would question you complaining your burger didn’t have toppings, but everyone thinks you’re ridiculous for complaining about the free cookie.

Can someone explain me when/how does the ice mining site despawn? They seem to last very long, but eventually they do despawn even when there is still ice inside them. So why does that happen? And does anything changes when the site despawns? Because the acceleration gate is still there, but I didn’t actually check if the Orca structure stays too. Does it?

Sure, but that doesn’t change the nature of the game itself, PvE combat is side content, always has been, always will be, the event is meant to give you something else to do for a bit to break up whatever content you’re currently grinding

I really don’t do much of it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to improve it.

You have every right to voice your opinion, and I have every right to tell you to stuff your attitude.

You really don’t if you don’t want to appear hypocritical. You can either accept I have a different opinion and argue the facts or say “get out of here” and be a hypocrite. You seem to have chosen the latter, hypocrite.

CCP’s job is to make as many people happy as possible, so there will always be people who are unhappy with any event.

I’d argue the majority of people were unhappy with this event, looking at this thread, and what I’ve seen people say in the game and the various other platforms.

Sucks you’re one of them, but fu¢king get over yourself already.

Same straight back at you.

Not every single aspect of this game must be tailored to your specifications.

It’s not about “my specifications”, it’s about facts that you keep ignoring.

no you are not, you only want isk…shut up and stick it where the sun dont shine.
There are more things than just isk.

Like what? What exactly makes this year’s event good?

@Nyel_Blazon you’re very pretty, would you consider wearing yellow?

Everyone saying that the Winter Nexus sucks, please develop your own space-based environmental platform and implement your winter event.

This is the most laughable joke of an argument I’ve ever seen. When there’s a movie critic who criticizes a movie you like, do you go telling them “why don’t you make your own movie”? No, I don’t think you do.

People get to criticize products they are paying for. People even get to criticize products they are NOT paying for.

Having a paid subscription to Eve Online and therefore being entitled to criticizing does sound a lot like the s i mp from Trek BBS who bought a paid membership and thought he was entitled to say whatever he wanted as well.

Yes, that’s how it works. It’s called freedom of speech. You get to say anything you like, and as long as you’re not lying or breaking any of the agreed upon rules, the developer of said product doesn’t get to shut you up. And neither do the other customers.

And if they do shut you up, that implies they are not confident in their product.

I did nothing but provide valid criticism of the product, and all you naysayers went after me instead of the argument. That’s called an ad hominem, and it’s a fallacy.

That’s a complete misrepresentation of the event.

A proper representation of the event would be you going to buy a burger, noticing there’s a campaign for a limited time special burger for the same price, then being given a burger made from meat that had its expiration date yesterday, topped with tasteless sauce.

The event isn’t “extra” on top of everything else. The event is something you decide to do INSTEAD of something else. Extra would be the login bonuses, and as you may have noticed, I’m not criticizing those. THOSE are the cookie, not the event itself.

You’re constantly misrepresenting my arguments with strawmen.

That doesn’t mean it needs to be monotonous. We have plenty of examples of other games where the PvE portions have been handled in a different way. Minmaxing something doesn’t mean the activity itself needs to be boring and tasteless.

PvE also isn’t the main focus of the game, PvP is, PvE exists as a way to make pretty much guaranteed income in order to facilitate explosions

For many people, only PvE exists. For many people, only PvP exists. I personally agree with your opinion where PvE exists to facilitate PvP, but that’s only because the PvE activities are so extremely boring.

CCP however doesn’t exactly agree with you or me. They have made it pretty clear that only engaging in PvE is completely valid with the caveat that you need to accept PvP might happen regardless of your consent. There’s nothing in the game forcing someone to go seek PvP.

I really don’t understand why it would be wrong to want to improve the PvE experience all around.

You definitely have a way with words, perhaps you could help me recover from my condition of wordsalad?

CCP owes you 30 days of Omega for your purchase price, not one thing more.

CCP owes me a game worth playing.

You’re b!tching about the more they give you.

You’re still under this same misconception that having passable gameplay is somehow “extra”. You would not pay for 30 days of nothing, so either you have to further specify what this “30 days of omega” means or admit you have no argument.

I couldn’t care less about any opinion you have on any topic at this point, you’re just a greedy, whiny little sh!t now.

Then get out of the thread and go on with your life.

Imagine being so angry about a differing opinion on a game that you go calling other people “whiny little sh!ts”. Would you also say that to my face or is it just the anonymous nature of internet that makes you so bold?

You got something very wrong here…like cause after effect.. In no way does and can CCP owe you a game “worth playing”. Because that is something each player decides for him/herself.

If you wakeup tomorrow morning and decide new on the requirements of your subjective “playing worthiness”, then what do you expect? CCP will change the whole game for you before launch?

No, if you decide the game is not worth playing for you, then you don’t play it and don’t pay for it anymore. Easy and obvious.

I don’t think we’re going to find common ground here, and that’s okay.
I could tell you why I have enjoyed the event despite not taking part in it directly but I doubt it would make any sense to most.

I’d like to hear it. You didn’t/don’t participate in it, but you still enjoyed it? Why?

An alt received an evemail from an EverMore subsidiary whistle-blower that suggests that event runners are being quite cynically abused. So maybe red is right to feel cheated.
I’ve not seen that comms published anywhere else on this forum and it is not within my character to do so.
