CCP, your event sucks

You got something very wrong here…like cause after effect.. In no way does and can CCP owe you a game “worth playing”. Because that is something each player decides for him/herself.

They do. And yes, it’s something every player decides for themselves. You seem to be under some misconceptions here.

You see, CCP does owe me a game worth playing, but when I’m making my decision to purchase game time from them, I have to make that assessment ahead of time. I need to decide whether the game WILL BE worth playing in the future. I don’t get take backsies, sadly. Well, not unless I can prove CCP didn’t hold up their end of the legal agreement we made when I purchased game time - which isn’t really up to subjective opinions.

But if, based on my current experiences, I decide to NOT buy another 30 days, or 3 months, or 6 months, or 1 year, or 2 years of game time, that will hurt CCP, not me. Every player not logging in is a loss for CCP - regardless of whether they even pay. If enough players bleed out, the game is done. There is no MMO without the 2nd M.

If you wakeup tomorrow morning and decide new on the requirements of your subjective “playing worthiness”, then what do you expect? CCP will change the whole game for you before launch?

This is a strawman. People don’t just wake up and decide to change their preferences randomly. And no, there is no expectation on my side of CCP catering to some unachievable standard.

But when CCP implements NEW mechanics and NEW content, they are subject to criticism towards said content. When CCP implements a well known event and literally MAKES IT WORSE than before, then they CERTAINLY are subject to criticism towards said content.

No, if you decide the game is not worth playing for you, then you don’t play it and don’t pay for it anymore. Easy and obvious.

That is exactly it.

And that is why threads like these are created: to let CCP know of issues with their content that could lead to losing customers.

Within the last few years, CCP has been doing some good updates and some big blunders, and if they could get rid of the blunders, they could have more paying customers.

I am doing them a service free of charge.

Keywords here being “other games”

Which specifically PvP focussed game has done this?

Sure for some people PvE is all that exists, but that does not change that EVE is not a PvE focussed game, it has PvE that you can partake in but it is not nor will it ever be the main focus of the game, obsessing over side content just because you don’t want to participate in the actual game isn’t going to be a great experience, nor really should it be, and CCP does agree that its a PvP focussed game, nobody has claimed that ONLY PvP exists, but that doesn’t change the design of the game

You’re free to play in the sandbox in any way you choose, that doesn’t however mean the sandbox is going to cater to your needs when the sandbox thinks the main focus is people kicking over each others sandcastles

Hunt: Showdown and Arc: Raiders to name a couple. And arguably, World of Warcraft and some other MMO’s. Though you could argue WoW isn’t a pvpve -game or even PvP focused, the vanilla version was way more pvp oriented than people give it credit.

And you can’t argue that the pve portions of ALL of those games are far ahead of EVE. EVE PvE is outdated, boring and simply bad - and I’m talking of the tolerable PVE -activities, not the ones almost no one does.

EVE, as far as I’ve heard, is an acronym for “Everyone vs. Everyone”. It’s not PvP online. So, like I’ve already said, I agree with your statement that PvE exists to facilitate PvP, but that doesn’t mean PvE gets to be really bad just because it’s not the main focus.

And it’s a good thing EVE transcends the traditional PvE/PvP -distinction in certain places, like the player run economy, industry and market, which blends both PvE and PvP almost seamlessly. Now if they just made the UI better and less clunky and gave us more in-game tools for it, it’d be near perfect.

Irrelevant. If one of the foundations of the sandbox is faulty, the sandcastles will never reach very high, and thus kicking them down will never feel as satisfying as it could.

I like to think I coined that acronym; whether that’s true or not, I’ve since made it my mission to prove it a false premise. EVE — ex voluntate est — is what we make it. Some people get lost in their own imaginings; others lean on false equivalences. Everyone makes mistakes.

The sandcastles reach plenty high with the existing mechanics so i’m not really sure what to tell you in that regard

So agree to disagree i guess

can i have your isk ?

What part of “I don’t hate everything about EVE” did you not get?

No they don’t.

Your subjective opinion of the product they release is completely irrelevant to what they owe you. If you’re unhappy with your purchase, you can freely stop purchasing at any time and request a refund of any unplayed blocks of game time.

In the case of this game, we have a TOS and EULA that are the basis of the legal contract between you and CCP. Feel free to look through them for what they owe you. You’ll find being happy with a seasonal event is not included anywhere in that agreement.

No they don’t… blah blah blah…

Weren’t you supposed to leave and never come back?

Looks like your previous comment was already flagged.

It seems like even CCP agreed with my assessments:

Too bad it’s a bit late.

Where does that say CCP agreed with you?

They nearly always extend these reward tracks in order to promote continued interaction with them, this was literally expected :stuck_out_tongue:

Really? First time I heard about that…

Yeah its happened numerous times in the past

They announced this when the event first started

On 5 January, the seasonal track will extend, giving you more reasons to keep active in the ice storms.

oh okay

In what sense?

Right here:

Winter Nexus Loot Drop Adjustments:

Communications Relay:

  • Nation Stormhive Shard:

    • Drop chance changed from 50% to 75%

Shielded Signaling Relay:

  • Nation Stormhive Shard

    • Drop chance changed from 50% to 100%

Shielded Cryptoanalytic Array:

  • Nation Stormhive Shard

    • Quantity changed from 1-2 to 2-3

ORE Green Salvage Package:

  • Nation Stormhive Shard

    • Drop change changed from 75% to 100%

Peculiar Icebound Salvage:

  • Nation Stormhive Shard

    • Changed from weighted loot type to fixed loot type.

Sansha’s Deathwight Stormlord:

  • Adjusted drop rate of various items.

Yes, I know they are from the 17th of December. I didn’t check the patch notes before yesterday.

Again, something they basically do every event as it gets towards the end because the value of the items has tanked, is this your first event?

All of them get increases to drops and spawn rates as they draw to a close, so this isn’t them agreeing with you its just the status quo

Coping much?

Some of them include npc loot items, which don’t decrease in value. Actually, most of the changes are regarding those.

They increased loot drops from the event. Something I criticized heavily.

Your first year doing events?

They literally only started doing it within the last 1-2 years.
