do the math, Covid brought more people into the game because suddenly they were at home working or not. CCP has not made any changes that inherently bring people into the game in years. however, they are driving industrialists away in droves ( for the last 2 years). this is amplified by the people going back to work as covid lets up in some areas., there are too many variables to just look at log in numbers. but not seeing friends log in any more is a real number

Bitter Vets- Fire all the devs involved! CCP is ruining the game! CCP literally hates miners! CCP is trying to drive away customers that don’t spend enough money! CCP literally likes tormenting their customers (and I do mean literally -I have literally heard someone sincerely make this argument).

Oh, and check out this post by Kerzai Charzai, where she not only says that CCP doesn’t listen to player feedback, but says that sabotaging the morale of others is intentional, because the only thing that CCP cares about is the loss of income.
Oh, and I’m not being condescending -it’s anger you are detecting. I don’t think I’m better or smarter than other players, I’m pissed that I’m seeing enthusiastic newbros turn in bitter vets in real time -and I promise you it isn’t because of any changes that CCP has made or proposed. It’s because bitter vets are poisoning their morale, and teaching them to respond to change and adversity with negativity and whining.

I don’t understand why you’re giving Shipwreck a hard time over this particular passage. The definition of bitter is ‘angry and resentful’, and he doesn’t say that every ‘bitter vet’ who posts a criticism is poisoning morale.
He speaks as someone who was a bitter vet himself. He put up a video that resulted in some players apparently quitting and this was when he had a change of heart. He doesn’t want people to quit, and he doesn’t want people to have low morale that might lead them to quit. He means well.
Read through the feedback thread and you’d be hard pressed to say there wasn’t a lot of stuff there that isn’t just critical of the changes, but critical of the people and trying to paint CCP as a terrible company to give money to for any number of reasons. I very much disapprove of some of the things CCP does, and I am sure there are things CCP does that Shipwreck also disapproves of. Off the top of my head I can think of trying to sucker players who are blown up into buying PLEX with an in game notification that it’ll help them get revenge is a thing both of us would wag our fingers at.
The whole point of Shipwreck’s efforts are to try to remove the tone of powerlessness and negativity that strongly colors the criticism. “They Ruined Mining”. What does that even mean? It doesn’t give anybody a chance to make up their own mind because the conclusion is the only thing baked into the statement. Anyone who trusts the vet to interpret the portions of the changes they can not is going to take on a negative bias and won’t even have a reason that can be argued with. It’ll be “I saw a lot of people who seem to know what’s going on really mad so it must be terrible.”
People can be critical if they want. There is nothing wrong with this and I think Shipwreck would agree with me. It can be done without being defeatist and negative about a change and all the developers who might have touched it is what we’re getting at.
Hmm again with the real life assertions. What’s funny is you assume everyone posting here is American as well And yes, everyone has a narrative. It is a fact.
