CCP's Changes

What about the players who aren’t newbies, who aren’t happy with every decision by CCP but do not act like the world is ending when CCP does something they don’t like?

They would fit in none of those three groups.

Well, the truth is there are a lot of them coming to these forums to express opinion. Its not their fault that a group of die hards are constantly classifying and generalizing everyone.

They likely have a valid opinion and a lot of the time their enthusiasm is actually masked by frustration.

Have you tho? I mean the guide is helpful. But now as a bitter vet, you constantly poison the community. I’d argue you hurt the community way more than helped it.

What do I contribute? I offer a path for New Edeners to shed their victimhood and embrace the gamall vegur.

You can enjoy EVE again. It merely requires you returning to the old ways that once made this universe great. CCP cannot do this for you. CSMs cannot do this for you. No one else can do it for you but yourself.

That, in essence, is Shipwreck’s message too. The only person stopping you from enjoying New Eden is yourself.

As I said tho, didn’t flag and have no reason to. I don’t expect you to believe but that’s fine  What I find hilarious is as I vroom through the stars, I know I take much greater joy in them than you.

Definite cackle

Oof. That misogyny.

Could have fooled me. You cry enough salt on these forums to populate another ocean.

But the answer to that frustration is simple and that’s the crux for me. My break from EVE was more hardware related than by choice.

However, I’ve played almost every MMO under the sun, and those I didn’t like, I quit. Its pretty simple.

In reality it is a credit to the experience that EVE brings that generates these types of players. You can only hate something you once loved hm?

There’s actually a specific meaning though.

Bitter vets are not vets. They are vets who can’t cope with changes, and can’t accept to have lost the time they invested , which makes them bitter. They keep telling you “it was better before” or “CCP stands for Can’t Code Properly” - while most people say that as a joke, they say that as an insult.

Bitter vets are people for whom the change is bad in itself. Actually, it’s bad because they were using a system which gave them disproportional benefits, and are no more able to do so.

Then, I was not the one calling people bitter vet or so.

Good thing that’s not the case.

There is a difference between expressing your discontent, and insulting people or plainly making false affirmations, stating one’s feeling as general. In that case they are over stepping their right to expression.

And the thing is that most people can’t even express their discontent, because the actual implementation is not known yet. So they only make anticipation of discontent, exaggeration, generalization, and the like. And pretend this is the absolute truth that every one should listen to, that Eve is dying, that the children are starving…

This. Though I already told him years ago, when I realized how much of a toxic person he was. Does it makes him a vet bitter vet ?

ROFL. All snark aside I really hope you’re just trolling and don’t actually believe this.

Cause if you do, oh man, its just chef’s kiss

Wait are you talking about Demike or Shipweck?

Are we taking bets on how long before this thread is closed?

There are a lot of variables to why numbers are down; last year a lot of people were unemployed due to COVID; this year they are returning to work being a biggie. Another is the way the Goonwar ended pissed off a lot players as well. Yes, I am sure a lot of players got their panties in a twist about scarcity and other CCP developer decisions, but there are other factors contributing as well.

I don’t think wreck is a bitter vet, on the opposite with ramona and co he belongs to the people I like to disagree with.

@ISD time for a review here…

Time for a review is long past. The personal attacks started way back at the thirteenth or fourteenth post. This is post 147 for reference.

Gonna drop my cents here, before it goes poof, closed by some ISD with 30 secs spare time.

I see an issue with scale.
Not the type that questions how a Titon fits in a structure, but on the gameplay.
Of course this is proportional to zooming and other things but at some point, at some distance, I’d really like to see better.
Things like beams, rockets, missiles, guns… some of them are mostly invisible at any distance.

Remember when one could fit a cam to a missile? I do!, I did it and it was funnier than station spins.

For example… some ammo could perhaps include tracing bullets, no?
Some drones are cool, but I’d like to see more “accurate” animation at times, a sprinkle of “realism”.

Oh and anti-missol-lazors, just cuz anti-missol-missols are just plain stoopid when one has lazors.

LOL. What trick the truth? You may have been subbed for 13 years, but also builds up a strong sense of entitlement. You regularly rain salt on the forums and complain about TOS supported game play.

You have lost your way my friend. Shipwreck was merely trying to light a beacon fire to guide you back.

If you truly you are a 13 year vet, then you remember how rich EVE used to be with content. Content that was player generated. The IPOs alone were amazing, both legit and scam. The fact that both could be had was all content. That dude pulling off one of the biggest IPO scams ever and just pulling a DB Cooper? Brilliant.

Games grow and change, esp games out as long as this one. What I’ve found is most players aren’t really cut out for long term sandbox play. Because you must accept the basic tenet that we are all content for someone.

All I seek to do is help the denizens of this universe shed the constant victimhood mentality. To accept that death is a friend that always finds and when He does, it is always your fault.

We should be teaching newbros how to avoid the gank AND how to gank. We all both predator and prey all the time.

I shall offer a prayer for you as I sail from system to system. I hope you find your way back. I hope you can shed this bitterness and realize the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Erm. You know computers can multi-task right? ROFL. Alt tab is a thing bruv.

Do you remember when he fought Bigfoot?

I do indeed

Not really bro, I’ve seent you.

I mean do I doubt you’ve subbed? No. Do I doubt you’ve played? Yes

There is a big difference my young friend.

“Qaufe head” XD

You have zero ideas about the victim psychology still yet carrying this narrative everywhere.

you are condescending and mocking.

And while doing that ignorantly blabbering something you know nothing about it.

As self-claimed “better vet” you are damaging more than the people you blaming as being “bitter”
They do criticise the Company as a customer. YOu go ad hominem and critic the individuals. Other gamers just like you.

you are not a mental health professional or something it is easy to catch that,… just STFU! telling things to others you don’t understand.

You are nothing but a piece of LOL.

Believe it or not, but I don’t think I’m better than anyone, or that bitter vets are terrible people by virtue of being a bitter vet. In fact, I used to be a bitter vet myself.

However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a problem with how they are behaving. Many are unintentionally sabotaging the community and the game, while others are doing it intentionally.

Naturally, I have some pretty big disagreements with bitter vets, but I don’t hate them -I hate the behavior.

I’m not here to try to make enemies, or make bitter vets even angrier than they are. In fact, I’d prefer it if I could bring as many of the back to the light side as possible. However, I am human, and I do sometimes get angry and frustrated, and throw tact out the window. I should probably be smarter about my posting if I’m going to do battle on the marketplace of ideas. However, I will continue to fight against those who sabotage my community, and the game I love.

And, I don’t know why I keep needing to repeat this, but having complaints is not the same thing as being a bitter vet. There’s a difference between being unhappy with a service or product, and being a karen.

So, I keep calling out karens for being space karens, and people keep telling me that I labeling anyone who doesn’t like a change as a bitter vet. Not sure if they’re intentionally arguing in bad faith, or if they’re just trying to do mental gymnastics to convince themselves that they aren’t acting like space karens.

Language warning!
