And fixed!
@ISD_Golem & @ISD_Dorrim_Barstorlode Iâd very much like to remind you that, as others have rightfully pointed out previously, Liberty exist, even in these forums, and that it doesnât only apply to ideas, arguments, people or groups you agree with or support.
As much as everyone has the right to bring their ideas forward as much does everyone else have the right to criticize those ideas or the way an idea has been brought forward or question inherent motives. They have the right to voice their objections, no matter their reasoning, they have the right not to want real life issues injected into their favorite video game (which is already recognized by the fact that politics and religion have no place in EVE) and - and Iâd like to put emphasis on that - they have the right to simply feel uncomfortable with the whole subject matter altoghter, whether you like it or not. You have no right to tell anyone otherwise and you certainly have no right to prevent anyone from speaking.
And since this is such a polarizing topic you have to make all the more sure that everyone is heard.
The way you wave the RoC around and then display your biased favoritism while moderating this thread is, and let me be absolutely frank here, beyond disgusting.
âThe EVE forums are intended to provide a warm, friendly atmosphere for the EVE community to exchange ideas, and discuss EVE Online.â
applies to everyone. EVERYONE. Even people you disagree with or whose oppinions you donât like. Itâs either Librty for all or Liberty for none. A free marketplace of ideas or no marketplace at all.
That being said, I stand by my former objection, which is just as valid as the OPâs idea, that the LGBTQ+ community does not need to be envoked to try to gain a more favorable outcome. LGBTQ+ issues, just like religious issues, political issues or any other social issues, donât need to be injected into EVE. And as passionate as some people might be about them, others are not and that is something you have to accept. The implementation of this feature could be and should be done without the expressed purpose of catering to a specific group.
Personal issues and crises should be worked through with professional help and not be instrumentalized in a video game to get some quick-fix for a problem even experts donât fully understand yet.
If you think the argument has no place in EVE discussions, flag it for moderation. Focusing on arguing the motivations rather than the suggestion itself is not going to get you anywhere, other than lead to arguments that get deleted/threads that get locked.
Two things, CCP owns this server and as a result you have no ârightâ to anything unless they grant it to you and that includes âfree speechâ. Second, you might want to delete what you just said because there is another rule about debating moderation done by the ISD and you are on the wrong side of that one.
Closing topic at the polite request from the OP
