Do I wins the prizes?
PR (Public Relations) is not Marketing. One would hope these are, in fact, different teams - Marketing is 100% about making money, while PR is about maintaining positive public image, including a sense of trustworthiness and value. PR should be engaged for marketing campaigns to ensure nothing is happening that will tarnish CCPâs reputation, but they generally arenât the ones who write marketing copy.
Since this is a marketing campaign, not a PR campaign, Social Media is the logical avenue - they want to hype the game to those who arenât yet playing, and doing that on internal forums doesnât add visibility. If this were a PR campaign (posting apologies or clarifications about an event) ignoring the forums would be a problem, but a marketing campaign very reasonably is targeted at players who are driving visibility via social media platforms.
This event rewards players for raising awareness of EVE Online via social media. Forum posting doesnât have significant visibility - not even inside the existing player base, let alone the wider world.
Youâre literally the shittest troll ever.
The problem isnât that Twitter and Facebook can be used to submit entries; we all understand that CCP is trying to expand the gameâs public footprint at no/ low cost. What we object to is that ONLY those two methods are valid for submitting an entry. It is far more likely that any entry would normally be submitted using the above two mentioned ways, especially based on their popularity and the relatively ignored status of these forum both by CCP and many computer gamers. However, allowing official forum entries that could be retweeted or posted using other avenues would allow those EVE players who refuse to use either Twitter or Facebook for any reason a chance to participate evenly in the contest.
Sure, it would take a little extra effort by whatever team CCP has handling the contest, but it would generate even more images to share and spread via TweetFleet or Facebook. Just feels like an extremely low effort bid for free advertising and, truthfully, that is really what itâs about. However, with just a little more effort by CCP, even more publicity could have been generated without alienating some of their players. Another case where CCP planning/decision making has failed to adequately consider their options and the subsequent results. Well, good luck to all who participate.
We get it, and the problem with using temporary accounts if these services generally require mobile phone validation
Again: the purpose of the campaign is Social Media advertising. Players who refuse to use Social Media do so knowing they are excluding themselves from both the pros and cons of the platforms - the pros including access to contests hosted on those platforms.
It is of no marketing value for CCP to load materials to Twitter or Facebook on a playerâs behalf, since the specifics of social media advertising require engagement by other users to cause the involved posts to successfully trend and thus raise the prominence of the campaign. CCP replying to their own thread doesnât add exposure or assist their goals, and counting players who arenât actually engaging in the campaign dilutes the value brought by those who are willing to go through the necessary work to leverage their social media accounts to participate.
Your argument would have more merit if it was for additional social media platforms that were not included (YouTube and Twitch are heavily used by the EVE community but have been excluded in the campaign), but refusing to actually help CCP market their product doesnât give any standings to complain.
Basically: if you (general) arenât willing to give CCP the social media exposure they are asking for in order to qualify for the contest, you (general) donât deserve a chance at the reward.
We should be able to submit Tik Tok videos
Maybe Pinterest for us Karens
I demand to be able to submit my entry on Pornhub. I mean, if Iâm out in space, Iâm probably â â â â â â â someone anyway.
You can view my âentriesâ on my OnlyFans page.
I want to win the prizes, but I donât want to do anything.
Thank you CCP for not putting this crap in the forums!
We need some kind of competition to show this 17+ year old game is not dead yet. Perhaps one that shows it wrinkle free. We can also use it to bait new customers.
Eve is like a PiĂąata
You did read the rules? Resolution and settings are two of the three criteria.
Well, they have to give away AMD hardware somehow. No big loss anyway.
Yeah Iâm liking this.
Facebook is the spawn of the devil and Twitter is an embarrassment to the internet.
Unfortunatly user numbers are rising not declining.
@Zhalyd_Lyehin has a good point there.
Contest happening on social media, discussions happen on reddit and the customer support is in place, so it could handle problems discreetly.
What is the point of this forum apart from monitoring what account stands behind what opinion?
rethorical question, btw
In what way is this monitored?
