Utter nonsense. PvP means player vs. player, not “honorable combat between equal opponents”.
This means the jackdaws prop mode is owerpowered and needs a nerf, because i could warp out?
Um, no, that’s not equivalent to local at all. You escaped, but you weren’t guaranteed to escape. Local effectively guarantees survival in nullsec if you’re even minimally competent.
It is the same for PvP. Very often a PvP player will do everything right and still die because the other player was better.
Acutally not the case with AFK cloack.
Only if you consider only one part of the process in isolation. The AFK cloaker is invulnerable while they are cloaked, but if they ever want to do anything besides sit idle in a safespot they are required to take on risk. Your argument is like claiming that hauling is 100% safe because your freighter can’t be ganked while it is in warp.
you need a lot of tother change to make it viable
{citation needed}
You want buffs to offset the loss of safety, but that doesn’t mean that they required.
blackout have confirm it
Blackout confirmed nothing but the fact that CCP wants $15/month per account from RMT botters and, like every F2P mobile trash developer, prioritized income over quality game design.
Nonsense! I lived in dull sec myself. When Francys Drake showed up in his cloaky Loki everyone docked up and complained. I, however, did the really brave thing! One jump over and more Gila ratting. Wow!!!
So, because you did not have a cloaky camper the next system over (and the next and next), you claim my issue with AFK cloakies in every system is nonsense?
You were just lucky that people didn’t have enough cloaky alts to cover all your systems too.
Give cloaking devices a cycle time of 3-5 minutes. At the end of every cycle there is a 5% chance the cloak will break and player must be present to re-initiate.
You tie the 3-5 min cycle to the level of device. Lower meta T1 devices start at 3 minutes and the Covert Ops Cloaking Device II goes 5 Minutes.
Either use the current Cloaking skill to start at 5% chance then level II 4%, level III 3%, level IV 2% and at level V you have a 1% chance of the cloak breaking at the end of the cycle, or create another skill, call it Cloak Harmonizing that dictates the % chance.
Logging in, cloaking and walking away needs to end. Honestly its been a splinter in the game in all my 11 years that CCP just refuses to address, yet is constantly brought to attention by the playerbase. Of course the abusers of such cowardly and garbage tactics will cry ‘iT’s JuSt FiNe!!’. But I guarantee you this alone has led to thousands of players leaving and never coming back.
EVERYTHING must have a counter or it’s just incompetence. This goes for Keepstars in Highsec also… Either allow dreads and carriers into HS or don’t allow KS in highsec.
The problem that people can be invulnerable all day in system.
Apart from NPC stations, no other gameplay offers such survivability in EVE. Stations can be attacked, ships in safes can be scanned down, POSes can be taken down. But somehow a player logging in after downtime can put his ship AFK into space and survive without any input or possible counterplay until next downtime. That’s broken.
Those people you call ‘too afraid to undock’ would very much like to undock and do something about that cloaky ship in space. Even if it is something that takes hours to find that cloaky, I bet some people would do that.
But as it is right now, AFK cloaky camping simply has no counterplay of sane proportions.
Well I assumed thats wht you meant. But I do agree that there is very little mechnical difference between me sitting in a station and me idling in space with a cloak.
