Just make the cloak require cloak fuel That way it can still keep you safe from hunters but you won’t be able to permanently stay cloaked

Well EVE is an interesting place and everyone has view. That I can respect but I play this game for enjoyment.

I’ve always thought the major problem with cloaky camping was that it is risk-free intel gathering.
It’s definitely a crap mechanic and should be addressed for that reason alone. Who cares about some whinging krabs and their cowardice.
20 minutes? That is a joke. You can’t even probe down and scout all sites in a crowded wormhole in 20 minutes.
Try sneaking up on a gate camp to get a good bomb run in 20 minutes. It’s hard to near impossible. Or to sit, cloaky in a radar site waiting to trap an unsuspecting explorer. Heck it’s not even enough time to cloak up and use the facilities for a long deposit.

As far as cloaky camping goes, I am fine with it when the camper is intending on either intimidation of krabs, or on hunting those who separate from the pack. But everyone keeps arguing against these crap suggestions under the assumption that the cloaky camper is a lion in the tall grass waiting to pounce, and that ain’t always the case.
What I am not fine with is when camping is used without any intent of player interaction, but rather as a method of scouting. That kind of risk-free intel gathering is garbage gameplay. Farigue timers and all that are dumb ideas. But at the very least the camper should have to press a button every hour or two to maintain cloak.
I’m not against the AFK caming “playstyle”, but damn, even miners have to press a button once in a while.
How do you collect Intel if you aren’t in your computer (hence the term “AFK-cloaking”)?

Yes and those self-same miners are interacting with the game world by mining asteroids and injecting resources into the economy.
An AFK cloaker does exactly nothing other than play mind games with people that shouldn’t be in nullsec.
