Everyone has their own playstyle. Everyone knew rorqual mining was OP so it was nerfed. Ganking should receive same ābalancingā.
Well if you are doing this only for RP purposes. Then you know that kind of people would be hunted down sooner or later. Since eve online does not have āpermanent deathā or ātime sentenceā mechanic. And standing loss or ship loss are meager inconveniences.

CCP stated that every action should have consequences ārisk/rewardā while your reward destruction of your target, the risk part strongly lacking.
And even more if you doing this for RP purposes and not for an isk, then some ābackfireā mechanic should be even more interesting for you.

Ganking miners is already one of the most hilarious and fun things you can do. So no, thank you very much.
There are countless other game mechanics in this game that could benefit from being āmore interestingā, why not āimproveā them first if you care about the actual gameplay
For example, mining is an extremely boring game loop. The only excitement and entertaining moments a miner will ever get is when he gets ganked and explodes. So to make it āmore interestingā CCP could just make it easier to gank for new players, I think that would make a brilliant starter profession.
Majority of ganking cats donāt have webs. So it is possible to mitigate their dps by moving away. Some gankers will be aware enough to pursue you, but some wonāt and youāve got nothing to lose by moving.
The risk/reward is set by the player being ganked.
If you carry less you are lowering the reward. If you are paying attention you are increasing the risk.
This is why ganking is such a great mechanic. You are only as easy to kill as you let yourself be. And the gankers only get paid as much as you willingly load into your ship.
I think the solution is simpleā¦make security status directly proportional to the speed Concord reactsā¦ The higher your security status, the quicker Concord reacts to you being attackedā¦ It would give disadvantaged solo players a way to help protect themselvesā¦ I think this would be fair to both sides of it and help prevent solo players from rage quittingā¦
