I fear it may be strong though, too strong. Imagine being able to give any ship a 28% speed bonus to their propulsion module. Or even more impactful, a 28% longer scram and web range as long as they can spare a high slot, rig and some PG.
And it’s cheap too, at only 3M ISK for the module.
While it wouldn’t impact fleet fights where bonused (command) ships are already boosting the fleet, I’m pretty sure it would change the meta for many solo ships and become a popular choice, almost required to compete. Oppressive even.
I fear it would be too strong and reduce choice in the game.
Limiting command bursts to few ships is indeed a good idea.
It would become too muddy if all ships can take on all roles, like for example many other ships with interdiction bubbles or many more subcap ships with bastion-like modules.
I think command bursts could be limited even further than the ‘pirate hulls, black ops’ that you mention. I think’s best if they’re limited to specific ships like command destroyers, command battlecruisers and support T3Cs like they’re now.
Tactical Destroyers like the Svipul could well get into that category or not?
Same for other Pirate Destroyers like Mamba and Mekubal, but not necessarily,
Tactical Destroyers like the Jackal would put it at good use…
The Orca can get 5 Links, it’s massive… Black OPS on the other End are very important for
Sieges and other hit and run tactics and don’t even have one slot… they ususally have to fight against Bastion modes, so a little help would be great I think.
This morning I lost my Svipul to a 2500-3000 DPS Vedmak in a T2 Gamma….
The third shot I received was 1560 DMG, wrecking shot. My Defence were 65-68& TH+EXP.
If I had a Skirmish module that could have helped me reduce my halo, or get a small Shield boost…
Maybe I could have survived the slaughterous CHEAT…
Pirate Destroyers and tactical Destroyers really needs some love.
Rigs are already very limited, but I would want to find a way to be able to fit a Skrimish or Shield or Armour module on one of these ships…
The T2 Variants like the Frostbite are absolute bummers and I would never take anyone of those into the Abyss. They have other bonuses and could fit even four modules if they wished.
A Single, Prototype Skirmish module instead, with reduced effects, valid for just some kind
of ships… that maybe could be an answer… not too powerful, still restricted to a small number of Hulls, and would give a small edge against modern threats…. like the Trig…
I remade myself a Svipul and run 10 consecutive T2 gammas without ever meeting the Vedmak again… I was neuted by 3x Damavik but survived this time the ware only sparkneedles…
The point that the Draugur can take TWO command links in the Abyss, whilst NONE of the TCD3 can, that is exactly Why I am advocating for them to be included in the “COMMAND” ships category as well… They are absolutely fun to fly in the Abyss, and if you could slap a Skirmish, Shield, or Armor link on any of them… it wouldn’t be gamebraking, but it would be fun, because as things are now, there’s barely any T2 Command ships that can survive an Abyss… the “Frostbite”, the Command “Talwar” variation, could do T Zeros at his best, even T1 I would be very worried to get one in and out alive… whilst the Draugur absolutely flies through T2 Abyss… none of the current T2 Command Destroyer is fit enough to survive a T2, and I have strong doubts about them surviving T1 also… Their DPS is completely ridiculous…
Now, if the TCD3 tactical Destroyer could get the command link… that would put them almost on par with the Draugur, which with the double command link is on another planet..
I’m absolutely in love with the Draugur…
GIVE THE SVIPUL THE COMMAND category so we can buff up our Web range… A Skirmish link would be awesome…
I wouldnt give it neither shield or Armor because both Armor and Shield tank fit are perfectly viable…
Skirmish link would be perfect.
PS: Also Pirate Destroyers could benefit from gaining the “command” line … with few exceptions, they are fat and slow… with Signatures that surpasses those of many cruisers all the while…
At least an Evade Manouver Skirmish link clould reduce some of those emonstrous signatures…
And I don’t see any danger in Alpha players using them for ganking… what you say, run them in fleet, is usually done by gankers with a single Command ship providing the bonus to all others…
