For those experiencing disconnecting issues:

Lately Iā€™ve been running a Internet Connectivity Monitor while playing EVE and have noticed that pretty much ALL of my disconnects are caused by (often) minuscule interruptions on my end.

This does bring an argument that EVE might be too aggressive on disconnecting players, instead of making a reconnect attempt within a certain margin of time, as those interruptions arenā€™t long enough to disconnect me from the chat server (can usually still receive and send messages for 10-15 seconds, before the game completely disconnects me - sometimes even get ā€˜reconnected to chatā€™ prompts).
However, as I lack the technical knowledge, there might be plenty of reasons why they are so aggressive towards these minuscule interruptionsā€¦

@CCP_Dopamine - Can we just arrange for a mass invasion of JITA by the trigs and lower the sec level to 0.2 for 5 days - see what hell that brings - After all it has a blue star too

all you people who are moaning need to remember that the current downtimes are alot better than what they used to be.

with a game this scale it needs rebooting to iron out any issues

this sounds probable, as my internet connection is definitely stable, most of the time i am able to log in right back, and none other services ( like discord, or TS ) are experiencing any interruptions or distortions

The technical reason has to do with TCP connections and how they require both ends to keep the same IP. You can, however, use a VPN which operates over UDP (normally) and is especially helpful if you have spotty WiFi.

Iā€™ve had same issue on daily basis until I filed a ticket and resolved using this method.

Itā€™s possible that an issue with the shared cache files, used by the game, is the source of the problem. This can be resolved by verifying the integrity of the files. Please see the following the instructions below:

  • Start the Launcher
  • Click on the cogwheel in the bottom left corner of the launcher window.
  • Click on the Reset Options & Cache tab
  • Click on the Shared Cache Settings.
  • You may see some progress in the bar at the bottom. Once its completed its task please click on the ā€˜Verifyā€™ button and the verification process will begin.

donā€™t you get an error when using a vpn or vps? i used to play on geforce now before it was open to everyone and it eventually got patched out because you could multibox alphas with it (i never did so, though i found out and made a ticket to ccp about it)

you know, actually i have not seen any disconnects when i had been running on VPN !!!
