These are AFK miners who want to make ez isk without playing the game. Since gankers are the only thing preventing them from doing so, they believe they can pretend ganking is harassment and convince CCP to change the rules. Nowadays, they appear to be powered by ChatGPT. I actually think it’s all one person.

Mining is boring as hell, only doing it when i can’t focus 100% on the game, but that doesn’t change the fact i have to use d-scan and my ano-scan open.
I love the song too….but the image of Lola sitting there still trying to be relevant after 30 years reminds me perfectly of all these EVE whiners who’ve whined non-stop, in their endless alts, since the day EVE was released in 2003.

The game is dying!
The issue isn’t that there are no mitigation strategies. There are plenty.
You can tank your ship, scout ahead, use bookmarks, cloak, split cargo, avoid autopilot, or simply stay off grid.
But those are mitigation tools, not counterplay.
Counterplay means the defender has a way to meaningfully disrupt or punish the attacker’s operation.
In highsec ganking, the attacker chooses the time, place, and target. The engagement is pre-calculated, the hull loss is budgeted, and CONCORD guarantees a predictable endpoint.
The defender’s options mostly revolve around avoiding the attack entirely.
Avoidance is not the same as counterplay.
There is still hope for the game.
You do have counterplay options. You could have corp mates standing by in ECM or logi ships, or you could even stuff your barges full of ECM drones. I can understand why you don’t see that as valid counterplay though, no miner would ever sacrifice 2m^3/s worth of ore to instead carry ECM drones so he’d have the ability to drop chaff and run when the catalysts show up, he’d have to actually sit at the computer and keep an eye on things.
You can replace highsec with any other place (except Abyss). In reality most fights don’t let the victim any form of counterplay other then avoid the attack.

you remain wrong, throughout this entire thread. If you can’t handle the fact that this game is the wild west, and nobody is there to protect you except you, then you might be in the wrong game.
An excellent counterplay is to dock up.
It’s hard to gank someone who isn’t undocked!

The best defense against being ganked, is to tell your corp mate that, “ Yes, go for Ore Strip Miners for your retriever.” and have them mine right next to you.

The audacity at which some people declare this game to ‘PVP only’ is REALLY funny because it is not, not even close to. There are MULTIPLE ways to play this game and it simply is ccp’s obligation to PROTECT people with different approaches to this game from trigger happy 15 year old minded(this is compeltely unrelated to their real age) ‘persons’ with only ONE attitude : MY OWN FUN IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS HERE. Unconsented PVP IS harrasment, nothing more and ccp should at least close the gap to 2026 gaming and punish every attemp of unconsented pvp with long deserved bans…..’This is a pvp game’ was, is, and will ever be nonsense regardless what selfish antisocial ‘pvp addictives’ may tell you…… and nothing you can say will change that simple truth(and i don’t care what ‘argument’ you spit out)…..bottom line…..
You’re playing EVE. EVE has ganking. If that doesn’t suit you, there are any number of other games you could play instead.

This is complete utterly nonsense, you only consent to ccp’s eula and NOT to the antisocial behaviour of some players….to control this is ccp’s obligation. The eula ONLY and CLEARLY states that nothing belongs to you, that ccp can do changes at every second of the game without you having informed or any right of getting potential losses from those changes back but NOT that you consent to pvp of any form….sry but his is complete BS…..

Just READ the eula and do not just think what people state on the internet HAS to be fact because a: they say it on the internet and/or b: it suits your own opinion……we both would benefit from that…..you want to know why i know this? Because this eula is standard…..it is the same for so many online games….
