Due to MESS taking 50% you can safely assume 50% to be the highest you’ll ever see.

Or they consider the reward to be part of the activity. Just because you don’t, that doesn’t mean they don’t.

Hi ISD Dorrim, may I ask about whether there will be a detailed article about the exact details of the DBS sometime?
That’d be good if we can see it before DBS goes live.

It’s called a dev blog. What exact details are you wanting to see? The numbers are unlikely to be locked in stone even once it goes live.

See what I said above. This isn’t going to be a set in stone thing, CCP will tune the numbers over time in response to player behaviour and impact on the game. So, we can go ‘What will it be on patch day’ which last I heard datamining numbers was 30% & 120%. But that doesn’t mean those will be the numbers in a months time. The numbers are very easy to change once the system is in place.

On test server it’s 130% for M-OEE8, so the higher bound seems to be off for sure.
I’m not asking for a “future proof” devblog or something, I just want to make out of the details and plan ahead a bit. Stuff changes, I know, but I hope that’s at least put in patch notes and stuff, preferably in a devblog that’s published around 1 week before update goes live

Don’t worry, the pre-patch final devblogs will be available on November 21.

For my personal health I do some running over the course of the week. I don’t enjoy running and the sweating BUT I enjoy the “reaching a goal” in the end. So I should stop running because its only the goal to reach the destination? Sorry, but motivation works not like that. If someone enjoys the “work” of ratting with a carrier (which at least I cannot do afk) and says that the payout should at least stay above 50% of now … that is motivation. Why should I do something without having the possibility to reach something I deem a “reward”?
As it stands now … The MESS will collect the money in the differant “banks”, one can be easily accessed by the usual beggar-scums, too lazy to do the actual work, the other one will payout in some mysterious way not even know to CCP (aka self proclaimed game designers). Only thing known is that some key is needed to get the money but not where to get that key nor how much it will cost you …
With all this uncertainty you wonder that people vote with their wallet like they did in “Blackout”? Well, I will certainly do so and stay in the background and wait as I did when last time the “game designers” had their funny blackout.

But shouldnt the objective of a game be to have fun?

Im told thats why people do sports;

They enjoy the act of doing the “work”.

Now, theres certainly a place to say that someone might enjoy sitting stationary doing nothing as the isk comes in, but thats really the crux of this whole shebang;

People arent annoyed that CCP is making the activity less fun, they are annoyed that they arent getting rewarded for doing an activity that (as you say) is no fun to begin with.

CCP: please make the actual playing of EvE entertaining. Right now, its duller than its ever been and unless the actual playing of the game is made at least slightly less tedious, I cant imagine this situation improving.

I mean, the slew of sudden sales alone after unpopular choices of action should make it obvious that changing the rewards up or down doesnt make any of the hoops you need to jump through to feel like you are getting anywhere any more fun to do.
