Because the civilization imposes that. Leaving a zone in anarchy in a colonized area means that area isn’t really civilized and it will be only house of anything that threat the civilization. Those drifters actions are the example.
It’s not in anarchy. There are people already living there, who are providing the civilized services that CONCORD isn’t. But we don’t need a singular ‘THIS BODY OWNS ALL OF NULL’ org like CONCORD. That’s crap. We don’t need them. They don’t benefit us at all. So why the hell should we pay for them, and why would we want to start paying for a new version?
I agree with the sentiment. From an in-game perspective, it’s not very reassuring at all, that the most powerful police force in the galaxy, armed with Jovian weaponry, are telling us wandering mercenaries that we should help fight off the Sansha, Trig, and Drifters b/c they can’t handle it…
(( psst. The IGS is an entirely in-character forum. Your character doesn’t know ‘in-game’. ))
I mean, if it gets bad enough, of course we’ll go do what CONCORD can’t… that’s just in our self-interest.
What’s the meaning of the authority dissing?! That’s disgusting.
I mean, if you think you’re better than them, why you aren’t working in CONCORD? Why it’s them who hold switch button to you capsule interface, and not you to theirs, eh?
I foresee a new line of ships and structures from ORE and Upwell Consortium, for mining the appropriate helium, refining and entangling it, with which to fuel an alliance-owned fluid router network, possibly with access controls, to deny hostiles information.
But then you have to ask, would CONCORD have the brass neck to continue to demand sovereignty fees ?
That people you mention is going only to enforce their rules without finding a compromise between all the involved factions. That’s why there are many wars there than in highsec systems.
So?
I mean, not for nothing, but if those people weren’t perfectly willing to fight wars, they wouldn’t be out there. The Republic doesn’t adhere to the Empire’s laws. The Federation isn’t bound by State laws. CONCORD exists as an agreement between them, but any one of them could pull out at any time.
Why should nullsec want to install some kind of overlord org to tell us how to live our lives?
Ehm… No. The CONCORD has been created to end any major conflict of the empires and continues to preserve the peace making compromises to the states. None of them (at least officially) has the permit to declare war each other because of the CONCORD.
This is not a problem about “how to live your lives”. It’s a problem about the continuous violence without the highsec systems. You complain about drifter invasions but when you’re the ones who fight you don’t want the others complain. That’s why a mediator authority is necessary.
Let me be clear here: I am not complaining about the Drifter invasions. I am not saying ‘oh, how could you let the Drifters do this?’ or any of that stupid crap. The Drifters don’t answer to CONCORD, and I’d really prefer it if CONCORD could just go the hell away and forget nullsec even exists.
The Drifters are handled. They are a threat only to the stupid. But if Drust is going to go waving his arms and whining ‘you guuuuuuuys, the Drifters are in null, stop being so capsuleer, I’m super serial here’, then I’m gonna mention the Drifters and how they’re being beaten like the very deadest of horses out here, while CONCORD can’t even be bothered shooting back at them when the Drifters show up in highsec and shoot at CONCORD.
You can take my word for it, mate; when we’ll be ready for it we won’t be waiting for permission.
Then why does this thread exists?
Then why don’t you do that?
Because it’d be better than letting capsuleers run it.
I welcome the less Local spam during larger (and smaller) battles.
Given what we’ve seen of the overlord orgs that exist… I don’t think it would.
Somewhat on/off topic here, but: why was the above post flagged, exactly? It’s certainly much more cordial than a lot of the other stuff that filters on through the IGS. It may be a distorted and unrealistic view, but is there any reason this was flagged other than ‘I don’t like it’?
Where it ought to: within the borders of the treaty signatories. Empyreans in the farmost reaches built their loyalties upon sand. That CONCORD prioritizes support for lawfully-operating capsuleers within the foundations of the cluster is, after a century of domestic tensions and threats, to their credit.
I am admittedly ignorant of your philosophy, but I challenge the idea that we would somehow be safer in their absence.
I would shed no tears. it has a preposterous premise, and where the James 315 followers are able to follow the form of politeness, it is madness to trust they will also follow its intent.
Once again, a capsuleer promotes the agenda of CONCORD from a capsuleer-centric viewpoint.
Think of the non-capsuleer. He left the high security regions of space for the better life promised by many null-sec empires only to be trapped out there, working hard to send what little money he can earn home to feed children many many thousands of AUs away whilst putting away a little to save for the return journey. Now, thanks to CONCORD’s obsession with capsuleers and the profit they can make from us, the SCC has decided to remove what little contact he had with his children.
Why should such families suffer? Because of conflicts with Triglavians and Drifters. Conflicts that CONCORD refuse to engage in and, instead, send us capsuleers into the fray. The only conflicts they have are with us capsuleers and when was the last time you heard of CONCORD losing a ship to us?
With all the billions of ISK we as capsuleers give CONCORD, what is the real reason they can no-longer afford to protect their own stockpiles of QE 4-He? Could it be that they are starting a policy of withholding services that are no longer generating enough wealth for the Inner Circle?
I make no claims but the questions need to be asked and reform, clearly, needs to be undertaken.
Oh, and Saava, if you would care to quarrel with me over my ‘preposterous premise’ instead of issuing ad hominem attacks, I would be more than willing to engage.
Grief above, I’ll nip this in the bud right now. There’s more than enough quarreling on this forum already. Let’s stick to debate, ladies.
