Consentual PvP as it should be in a free world

we all base our future in eve on hope oO we all hope that CCP´s next update is a good one …

nobody forces you to spend money on something unless the government with its taxes xD

yes this is true but still a lot of ppl would trade this for their 100% safety !

I can see the gaming magazine headlines already…

" First ever zero PvP ’ No Pvp toggle’ battle fought in Eve. Today two fleets of 500 ships met in lowsec, and nothing happened. Then…for another half an hour, nothing happened. Then after a few minutes people started firing huge rounds of sarcasm and salty comments at each other. Using CCPs brand new ’ how much salt can you type’ scoring system…and subtracting points for rudeness…it was decided that Salty Corporation won the battle. No ships were lost and there were no killmails…which saved CCP having to re-create them "

I think he’s referencing the SSF mode with that comment, so that’s a different sphere of gameplay from big low-sec engagements. SSF players would basically be seen as “ghosts” in the game world (if at all), and vice versa.

As far as the OP’s consent form is concerned, most big battles happen over structures. I’m not sure that it would be feasible to make structures themselves immune to attack with some kind of “toggle” as that would lead to unchecked proliferation. If the mechanic is limited to ships only, then the attacking force would still engage the structure, and the defending force would choose whether or not to engage back, which is effectively how things are right now anyway.

Noo…I’m just sliding down the slippery slope before anyone else does. Do you really seriously think the ‘SSF mode’ would be the end of that line of whining ?

My support for it isn’t for the sake of ending whining, but rather to add a new archetype of gameplay to EVE. Similar to how I proposed a “hardcore” mode to be added a few months ago.

Getting ‘scrapped’ is a vital part of learning and - if you take it seriously - of improving yourself. Never engage with those equal to or less skilled than yourself; you’ll learn nothing.

There is no such thing as ‘a free world’. The very notion is ridiculous. All apparent freedoms are subject to limitations.

What if…What if there’s no one else left?

Hi Destiny, if EVE continues its current course, there will be no one else left, as you clearly realise. Then those proposing these daft schemes can wallow in mollycoddled mediocrity.

But I know that your heart is in the right place (or at least, I have it on good authority…) :heartbeat:

No, its a new archetype of non-gameplay. And a very silly one at that.

If you want to avoid PvP go to nullsec. Highsec is endgame PvP area. I’m not sure why people start there honestly, it makes no sense

Then he would just complain about cloakey campers.

Well, you can’t really know, since you don’t have experience with those modes. Both SSF (not the one discussed here but a true open-world SSF mode) and HC modes are challenge modes that would offer a significant increase to the game’s difficulty level.

Exactly, as I said, if you want to avoid PvP you have to go to nullsec.

Are what null cry about.

Don’t be so silly. Your SSF mode is just an absurd single player version of Eve. One that really would not even require being online in a multiplayer game…huh.

There is nothing Massive, Multiplayer, or Online about such a game.

silly

Yeah they dock up, cry and avoid PvP. It’s the null way of live.

You are trolling right and welcome to the forums.

Well that’s nice for your 1st post .

I’m sure we will all look forward to that story when you have time .

Talking of stories, been following the adventures Ami on YouTube , if I didn’t know better this sounds like Destiny has been running tutorials on how to Eve. Take a look

And they cried and cried until ccp gave in and put mobile observatories in the game…

That’s why it’s a separate mode, and not a change to the existing game.

There’s nothing to stop you playing ssf in eve as it is. Several people have done so.

Putting yourself in a bubble where you can’t interact or be interacted with is a major change to a core game design principle.

Terrible idea.
