Faction Destroyers and T2 Command Carriers (yawn)… I guess carriers needed some love so I can’t really fault them for that (null-sec has been waiting forever).
The Military Campaigns is the only thing that looks interesting - but it could end up being a bait and switch to get folks out of high-sec.
The irony is that I’m actually most excited for Vanguard. Too bad it’s PC-only…
Because a (good) shooter plays amazing on Controller while you are relaxed lying on the couch in front of a 75" OLED HDR TV.
Seriously, I am all a PC guy, but for shooters I have completely switched to PS5. I am not a pro, I don’t need more than 60 FPS. Console not only open up a whole new market of millions of players, it just offers a truckload more convenience for casual players.
The only crux is: Competiton in the shooter segment is tough. You need a real good concept. Else you fail. Thats the only issue I see, in general goin to PC and Console (crossplay) would be extremely good.
Sure, basically every shooter that is played with controllers is having some level of “aim assist”. And that is balanced up and down over time to a level that console and PC players achieve comparable results. It isn’t like an “insta-win” cheat. A good mouse-player will still consistently beat a mediocre controller-player even with aim-assist. Hell, most pro-level players will still use mouse+keyboard because at the upper end it’s finally much more precise and fast.
I just hope that this achievement crap is opt-out or even better opt-in. No need to have additional intel automatically spread out to everyone in the known universe…
I mean come on FC, you are supposed to know how Eve Online in general works…why not directly calm down the users by adding a sentence to the introduction that you have thought about such problems in the first place and that everyone can turn the feature off or selectively modify it? I just DO HOPE you have thought about the consequences beforehand at all…
In my personal opinion it’s 20 years too late, but as long as it is optional and can be turned off, I’m all for it. But it will probably end up being like other games that have tried to add achievements after the fact and it won’t recognize what you’ve already done. And if you’ve already maxed out in a certain area, or have perfect standings or whatever, no one is going to go back to zero and re-do all of that just for an achievement or a title…
I expect it will be. In any other game I’ve played that had titles and achievements, it was always something the player could choose to show or not (especially, titles).
Most likely. If I recall, the same thing happened when they introduced the activity tracker or whatever it was called.
