Now we have real PVP arena and I am very pleased with it.
I have one big problem at entrance, in entrance, about entrance.
Currently to enter arena we have to go thru some kind of PVE area, ok not so bad but why we can not enter PVP arena thru HiSec, or LowSec or NullSec. Why it will be thru specific PVE area. I feel like it limiting me and force me. For my money I want to chose on what I’ll spend my time ingame, when someone want to force me to do something ingame I am strongly against that.
Solution: be honest and give your subscribers to chosee how they will spend ingame time. That
will make satisfied customers and old rule said: satisfied customer will come back again and again and again …
I know it is hard for you to start working for your customers not for your potetial buyers but times has changed and you must adopt. You can not hide behind guinness records, nerd nichee talks, IMBA and "blow all that s*** " attitude any more. Your only defence now is balance sheet.
mimi, you refer to Abyssal, which actually IS the thing anti-arena ppl fear due to the 20m of total instanced PvE play. Proving Grounds is a very limited afterthought tacked onto that giant horror.
If I had hope for anything, it would be they at least expand Abyssal/ Proving Grounds to include other ship types, and perhaps tier matching (not sure if this happens now).
As you mentioned, it’s always about the balance sheet, so CCP will limit it to expensive ships w no matching. Come w the 1B cruiser with max skills or die.
Abyssal instances already took from EvE. Every person in that instance, any streamer showing Abyssal runs, is a loss for New Eden. What did we get in exchange? Overpowered or useless new ships, an a new feature for gambling addicts. Nothing of value for EvE.
I’m with Salt Foambreaker, every player in an instance is a -1 for EvE.
not sure if that first paragraph is intended as a rebuttal, but it is in accord w my statements.
The key differences you are not comprehending are, with a true arena: time spent in instance is much shorter, it is not even a solo instance, and more ships die, boosting the economy.
How so? Every preparation for an arena fight, the arena fight and everything around it, is players and player time taken from the sandbox. The more instances the more New Eden just becomes a waiting room.
I’m not against player organized arenas, but this is probably not what you want.
How is prep time any different from any other action in eve? an average pvp battle lasts… a few minutes, with at least one other player.
How would it differ from a player organized arena? It wouldn’t in any other sense except a target for gankers like yourself to crash.
You all are either really that thick and/or not in-good-faith.
“Another” post from 6 mos ago. This debate (using the term liberally) spans a few different threads so no foul if you missed it, but I’ve said a few times that lowered cost ships is tertiary. IF the low-cost idea was entertained, it would obviously have to be from cheaper materials, special shipping etc to lower overhead. But again, lets drop this point-- its conceded or not key.
resurrecting what? this thread? I reply to peoples posts, including yours. But what we accuse others of doesnt count when it comes from ourselves does it.
The point about lower cost ships only is ‘out of date’. It’s not even invalid, just not very relevant.
