I had a thought. If ganking/shooting in hisec is a criminal activity, and there are mechanics behind that to punish the criminals in game, doesn’t that mean doing so is not only allowed, but mediated and expected by the developers?

I have no idea what you are talking about, but in my experience you tend to make exaggerated claims, which are often disassociated from reality. If you are referring to Gix’s argument, that antigankers are hypocrites who fail to address their own toxicity… well, I tend to agree with him. I would go so far as to say that gankers are generally friendly people, who work out their real-life aggression by playing a video game, whereas antigankers are bitter little grumps who harbor intense and irrational resentments.

Did you know that immediately after the war the income tax rate in the UK was 45% ? It was still as high as 33% into the late 70s.

All that ‘free’ education wasn’t ‘free’ at all. It was being paid for by horrendous tax rates. The ‘stable careers’ were mostly blue collar jobs. Things like cars, fridges, etc, were a much higher percent of people’s wages.

My effective tax rate is over 43% right now (as in, how much of my salary I paid in taxes and associated fees), and my education wasn’t free, but cost 6 figures. Also, people don’t exactly need to buy a new car of fridge every year, and back in the good old days, a doctor visit didn’t put you into debt for 3 years.

Also, nothing wrong with blue collar jobs, which people could get straight out of high school (and college got you onto the management track right away), instead of having to intern for free for 4 years before getting hired for minimum wage and no benefits.

I agree Aiko. In fact, this reminds me of what Gorila wrote back in 2014. It’s been nearly a decade, but some things just never change…

My biggest Issue has been the campaign of RL death threats and accusing people of being sociopaths and psychopaths because of how they play a GAME. It’s something I do NOT agree with and have actively campaigned against since day one. It’s a hate campaign… carried over to the AG channels and I’ve seen many embrace it. I’ve sat back and watched the hate and I do NOT approve. You should also have FUN and be laughing when you play a game. Not many laugh in AG from my experiences there are MANY in CODE who do laugh and have FUN.

To be honest, a good deal of what I see is deliberate deflection, straw man, and red herring. Like Gix using the whole RL issue to set up leading questions. Every single time the issue of ganking gets raised…the topic actually gets deflected away from ganking and onto a bunch of red herrings and straw men. What starts out being a discussion of mechanics invariably gets turned into some absurd morality debacle

Stepping into these forums is like that bit in Half Life where you come across the green sludge and the clicks on the Geiger counter rapidly increase. I don’t think I’ve ever in my life come across a place quite so full of all the most toxic members of a community all rattling on about how toxic everyone else is

Yay you googled some logic If you’ll notice, Drac/Razor always start the insulting and in fact, the derailment. In fact, they bring up the harrassment in hopes of getting the thread locked so they can cry foul more.

Are you really this naïve? Or are you aiding them? What I always find funny is peeps love quoting fallacies but have never actually taken a logic course. You should start with truth tables and modus ponens first
