My own personal policy is never to chat to gankers either before, during, or after any gank. Or during AG. Silence is the best ( and wisest ) policy. The other day I bumped a ganker ship at Dodixie ( my first ever deliberate bumping…was surprised how effective it could be using just a shuttle ) and zoomed off, all without a word. I neither know nor care if anyone got salty.

That blog is full of lies and bullshite, for example on the Eve forums I liked a gif, in that blog there was a screen print of my gif post completely out of context. So if you rely on that blog for assessing this then you are barking up the wrong tree.
Eve has a petition system for in game abuse, when it happens you use it, you do not run off and create a gloating embellished blown up blog post out of it. So my advice to you is simple, tell the gankers to use the petition system.

Not good enough. A 14 day ban and they are back playing with the same people laughing and joking about it. And more than likely doing it again. And all their corp mates celebrating it like a badge of honour.
CCP can slap out discipline all they like but this stuff is a systemic problem in gaming and the fix only worth while fix is to change player culture. And we do that by speaking out when we see this kind of behaviour and being clear it’s wrong.
That’s why people spoke out when you demanded a player prove their gender. That’s why I’m speaking out at the appalling “this does not apply to me it’s someone else’s problem” attitudes in this thread.
But you obviously don’t like that and as such imply am a ganker. Refuse to answer simple direct questions, bloviate, deflect and accuse me of meta gaming (whatever the ■■■■ that is). Which is your right. But just highlights the massive problem all gaming culture has.
And as evidenced by this thread speaking out isn’t easy. Because this toxic behaviour is so common that anyone that dares to suggest high profile players in game can and should use their platform for betterment are just shouted down and insulted.
My entire point yesterday was that threats and abuse are never acceptable and that in game leaders can and should address this when people engage in that activity in their name. What I would consider a reasonable position. Yet I’m made to feel like I have somehow crossed a line in a saying that.

When I used to manage a huge MSN political forum, one of the things I used to refuse to allow was people linking to their blogs. The reason being that people can ( and do ) say pretty much what they like on their own personal blogs, whereas people responding on the forum are constrained by not only MSN rules but the forum rules too.
You thus have a totally unfair situation, and I’ve had similar on Facebook, where a person is deviously using a blog to interject all the things they can’t say directly on a forum. And of course, with a personal blog a person can manipulate the story to their heart’s desire. They can post emails, responses here, and so on…without any supervision of presentation.
It is all incredibly one sided. Which is why I refuse to discuss people’s blogs. This forum, for example, is for views expressed here under the specific rules and regulations allowed. A level playing field. Introduce someone’s blogs…and it is not.
Sigh. I had not specifically set out to AG using a shuttle. In fact I was on a completely different mission transporting stuff right under the gankers noses. But the opportunity arose to bump one of the RIOT ships…and I took it.

Exactly that, the game is covered by the petition system, so any wrong doing using Eve mails, or in chat channels will be dealt with by that system. This forum is covered by CCP, and while they sub-contract to players who are a third party, with certain issues around that, it is still controlled by CCP and there is a system in place to deal with people who cross the line. I know as I have used both systems several times and will likely do it again.
Neither I, or the other player who was the one who suggested that Aiko was not a female, not me to make sure that is understood, have been censured by CCP in any way shape or form. That says everything about it, if people want to check what was said it is in the Uedama thread that Githany started, and which got nuked by the ISD because the gankers spammed it with this rubbish, however that is not possible because someone deleted the thread, one of those neutral unbiased ISD’s perhaps?
By using the blog any player interacting there is acting outside of CCP’s control, I only interact within the Eve forums, I don’t even go near Reddit because it is not controlled by CCP.
The gif example I gave which was used in that blog was completely out of context to the Eve forum thread it was in, and what was said there. It was pure fantasy…, so much for that blog. It just cannot be trusted, simple as that.
No, you completely miss the point. Speaking out is incredibly easy. And I myself have in fact done so in the appropriate places, in various threads here. But nobody is going to want to ‘speak out’ when the entire effort to make them do so has undertones of witch trial and people using the issue as a straw man pawn for point scoring.

Well, as far as criminals are (topically) concerned, one would think that threatening to kill someone else would qualify them as such.
A person would have to be a real piece of work to see two players, one blowing up spaceships in a game about blowing up spaceships, and the other threatening them with bodily harm because of it, and then verbally berating and chastising the former, while protecting and defending the honor and property of the latter.
Being a gank victim and being a criminal aren’t mutually-exclusive.
Not half as much as the real piece of work they have to be to keep on and on using the matter as a red herring and straw man that gets wielded as a weapon in arguments…eh.
There are few things more obnoxious on forums than people wielding faux righteous indignation supposedly on someone else’s behalf but really as a weapon for their own.
