Criminals and gank failures

And a newbie knows this how? I’m not talking about me. I’m talking about players who may have the most basic rudementary knowledge of the game. It’s entirely possible those players will never have encounters remote reps or even know it’s a thing.

You approach every situation like everyone knows everything. That’s not the case.

The very fact that your leader raised the subject here telling people to stop locking back shows that the action has some issues.

Pointing out that you guys may need to consider how you go about things doesn’t mean I’m opposed to what you are doing.

Take the blinkers off. Step back. Lose the tunnel vision

You think that I think that, keep deluding yourself.

You go off on a tangent when I explained that it is easy to explain, because I have done it multiple times.

And still the personal attacks, oh I have tunnel vision, but from where I am sitting it appears you do, because I said that we explained it to them but you ignored that.

I get fed up with all these T1 haulers with max cargo and no tank, in fact the issue is more to do with people deciding that there is no point trying to rep because there is nothing to rep. :stuck_out_tongue:

Easy to explain to players who want to listen. You can’t possibly tell me that every player is watching local or accepting a chat invite.

It’s hard enough getting players in ventures on belts to accept chat invites to offer boosts.

But if it’s working then yay!! Go you guys. Just don’t pretend that this doesn’t have the potential to be negative in some instances.

Was I telling you that, you went off on a tangent again.

Actually its is easier because sometimes the person we repped up or locked opens a convo.

A small percentage of people, fact is most people don’t even react, most are even unaware which is why I pointed out that AG is a resistance movement and don’t expect people to thank them that often, though it is nice when they do.

And how many are straight into their corp chats with “omg I nearly got ganked”.

How many set you or your corp to red coz all they see is you targeting them?

Obviously we will never know but I imagine very real possibility it happens right?

Will that ever be a problem for you guys? Or is it the cost of doing business so to speak?

I’m not picking holes here. Genuinely curious

I will reply on the basis that this is a genuine question, I hope it is.

The main thing to note is that it is not just new players, old players do this too, because in a game as cut-throat and nasty as this many people do not believe that there are people willing and able to help them and put effort in to do so for no real benefit. They can and often believe that we are part of the gankers.

The best example I have is a JF pilot linked to an alliance leader who I had flown with in a nullsec alliance and who I later did some lowsec/nullsec gate camps with in Querious, but that was some years before this event.

I got a report in Gank-Intel of a JF being bumped by a scam bump ganker, this guy would bump them for hours and offer to web but would then kill them. Thankfully this terrible game play was ended with the bump changes.

I jumped into two guardians and made my way to Niarja and warped to another AG who was on the freighter and I locked it up. After five minutes the alliance leader private convoed me asking what the hell was I doing bumping his alliances JF.

So I explained that I was doing AG and that we were setting up to rep it when and if the gank fleet came in. I asked for and got the fit, he had resistance plates on. I told him to get an out cyno in position fast and if he could get a counter bumper and more armour reps we could save this as I knew that the scam bumper was frantically pinging all the multi-boxing gankers he could to get something there to kill it Another reason why this gameplay was so terrible…

So in came my friends anti-bumper ship and another seven armour logi as well as a cyno being sent to the needed system. On intel we saw at long last after two hours that a ganker fleet was logging in, but then they all logged out and the bumper gave up.

But the fun fact was that the experienced player being bumped, straight off assumed that the logi ships were in with the gankers.

Still a fun story…

A cost to doing this business basically…

I like to think of Ms Red more like a figurehead (Miss February, perhaps ) than a leader

I think a lot of them are AFK, and don’t care at all, which raises the question of why you care about someone else’s freighter more than they do.

No Im being serious; are any of your crew targetting ships with veiled targetters and doing ships scans?

Don’t really care, it just so if any read this they might understand what’s going on .

one thing I can tell you for sure if we save them they are very pleased we locked them , I was going to use a passive targeter but you can only lock one target and when your on logistics watch at a gate then you can have 3 or 4 targets locked at a time .

But I do take your point and thxs for your input , I’m sure we are red to many already

Ps we do have a short text line we send people in local and mail if time allows, who to set red and why we locked them.

Two points I’m not their leader, I’m a voice ,one that’s not worried or intimidated to stand up to these people and I try to get others to follow. Yes I understand who they are.

Secondly just trying to let people know it’s a dangerous place , I often see people fire up their propulson modules when I lock them , my job is complete at that point and they are paying attention. Indeed like you said some will take it bad and not understand but that’s not my worry

As far as i can see this is your baby and you are the most vocal promoter of the anti-gank activities. That makes you the figurehead, leader…….whatever you want to call it.

Im actaully not sure i like this escalation in how you are approaching things. Being asked for assistance, or having an offer of assistance accepted is one thing. Not giving players a choice in the matter is something completely different. Whats the point in saving someone if they dont understand that they have been saved. or indeed what actually happened? Its robbing players of their own agency. Im sure many players are happy and grateful etc but its not doing them any real good. If anything its probably making some even more complacent.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach him how to fish……

You naughty person you! I should add that I blew up a few MD’s in a system near Uedama recently, would have been good to mention that in the specific Uedama thread but, it is not to be. But I must have been painted very red indeed by these people.

Other times you actually undock in your leshak and just sit there at the station even tho there are active gankers on gate

But surely you’re doing the most for AGing

Bro you support SA. Thats all we need to know about you.

Hence why I said DPS matters more. You can’t control other people’s fitting skills, you can control how much DPS you bring to clear the gate. You’d know that if you actually AGed or PvPed

True that brother.

He wants to be famous. He tries to clout chase and take credit for other AGer’s actions. He only started repping cause Thotamon be out there almost every day trying to save peep’s ships despite the fact that they don’t even bother to fit modules.

Notice how this is an old story. As in he has nothing current. All he does is sit in system and report on the gate  He isn’t actually putting a ship at risk.

I def view you as the face of AG, as Aiko is the face of ganking. And TBH, I’d use whatever influence you got to purge Drac. He is toxic to your movement for real. And jealous of you to boot LOL.

I for one will put my cards on the table and say, I think it’s great that there are female gamers. I know that female gamers take a lot of flak letting it be known that they are, which is why in other MMOS and generally online, they try to hide this fact to avoid unwanted attention.

EVE could do with more female gamers. The age-old meme of G.I.R.Ls in EVE (Guy In Real Life) used to feel kind of real until recently (probably due to the Pandemic and all) maybe due to me being more social in/outside of game.

Anyway, I’m derailing this thread now, just want to be clear. I’m not victimising anyone due to their sex, and appreciate all gamers (as long as they are not toxic, which I’m sure nobody wants).

And back on topic:

It’s all content. You keep ganking, I will and many others will try to stop you, or at least punish you when we can. All in the spirit of neutering and deleting cats. (Catalysts).

To me there are just players, and like you I just base my like or dislike on how toxic they are, and in game it is if they are criminals or not, enough said.

Nah. Its pretty obvious from the misogyny you sling where you stand.
