@Gneeznow from following the last 2 years of CSM it is easy to say that there is no benefit and only scandals if you only pay half the attention to it. Invest some time into the csm discord and conversations and you will quickly see a benefit.
Out of interest however what interactions have you had with the csm my experiences may be wildly different to yours
I as a holder in both null sec. and Hisec. And not a goon alt. Would be a dam good choice to get out of a goon controlled CSM. After all. All the players brought up on charges have been goons. Goons are not the only choice for leadership. I would like to see better defenses on structures, and Freighters. Stop giving the g-d damn gankers everything. Make them fight for it, for a change.

This. If the vote system is not changed CSM will remain irrelevant for the majority of players.
In what way?
So why is it that we still need a CSM? Surely CCP cares about everyoneās opinions, not just the select few and their buddies? Instead of just listening to a small group of your customers who, face it, donāt really represent the full playerbase of the game, why not do what every other game company does, and listen to all of your customers?
The CSM exists for a couple of reasons.
To consolidate opinion.
To provide opinion on issues CCP isnāt yet willing to open to public discussion. (This is what the NDA is for).
While thatās true, why doesnt more csm members visit the forums and get opinions from players instead of just pulling numbers and opinions out of their 4 points of contact. Brisc did a great job at least participating in the masses, but why should we have a csm when none of you really engage the masses?

- is only ārepresentativeā group of players
- has no actual influence on CCPs decisions
- barely has any power to present CCP with new ideas
- can not say what they did and what they did not (because NDA)
- has access to very sensitive dataā¦

Only this is somehow true but not all members from big blocks are like that. Everything else is lie.

The NDA they sign is a lie? Because they definitely sign one. And they sign one because they have access to very sensitive data CCP doesnāt want available to the public.
The only hyperboles I see are the idea that CSM has no influence on decisions or power to present ideas. Obviously CCP listens to the CSM in some way, even if itās a small way.

Also past CSM members talk about many things that where discussed and introduced to game. Yes, NDA is a thing but it donāt look to be so restricted especially when you leave CSM.
Yeah, recent story of Brisk have shown how NDA is not restricting.

The NDA will still apply until x amount of years after they have left the CSM as far as I know

Amen to no longer getting an easy ride on structure bashes.
Structures should have a significant cost to take down with no support fleet present. They should have some automated defenses with the same reaction time and firepower as the POSās had. These could of course be destroyed by attackers. Similar to POS 1 player not in control of the structure could take control of a few weapons or they would remain automated.
Not all the voting blocks are the same, or one minded
We should have a CSM filled with people you value like Brisc, raise awareness, get voters to vote for the members willing to represent all player sets. That was what Brisc said he would do and he delivered!
CSM has become a distraction and more indicative of the problem rather than part of any real solution. Iād rather CCP get back to developing a video game instead of pandering to this popularity contest.
There are far more important concerns than which [insert top 3 alliance here] mouthpiece gets to be on a panel.
CCP needs to abolish this panel and use a more common sense approach to future development.
