CSM Vote Result confusion

In the way that I’m the only guy on there who has evicted HK twice, and in the way this is a three year old running joke now.

Wow. Twice. Funny.

How many times have you evicted HK?

I don’t know who HK is. Nor do I understand why I would want or need to evict HK. My needs in the game are modest and do not require me to join an in-game empire that relentlessly consumes everything it lays eyes on.

You should try it, it’s fun.

I have problems accepting authority.

So at best, the #1 vote getter received 1/6th of the high-end of a daily concurrent users number and he’s supposed to represent the entirety of the playerbase? LOLOLOL!!!

Check this thread.

Sometimes it works in a good way, sometimes it works in a bad way.

This is how it works in real life too. Your average legislator or executive wins with typically something like 25-30% of the eligible vote.

The best solution by far is to not vote at all. That way CCP might realize the CSM is not (and has never been) representative of the communty and they will get rid of this farce once and for all.

In the history of voting, that has never worked, not even once.

I know, but one can dream.

you can read the CSM minutes, they are regularly published, and even if you can disagree with some propositions, i find that they tried to do some good job. Why call it a farce? stop the complot theory, invest some time in the campaign, federate all players outside from big blocks and try to get elected?..
i don’t understand why people think it is biased and unfair that big alliances are more represented in the CSM than small entities, if the number of players in big blocks is larger than the number of players outside. Or if null blocks are able to motivate more members to vote than people outside the blocks.

The null blocs are filled with greedy yes-men that do whatever the people in charge tell them to do. The big null blocs are heavily represented specifically because there are so few people thinking for themselves out there.

What would it matter if people started “thinking for themselves”?

Because it is. The elections are a farce because only a tiny minority of the playerbase actually votes. CCP never follows the advice given by the CSM. The electees are merely part of the CSM to better their situation or that of the block they represent and never for the entirety of the game.

I have read all CSM minutes for the last 6 years and there is only one conclusion possible: the CSM are puppets used by CCP to legitimize their (sometimes horrible) decisions. Every single time CSM has given actual good advice, CCP disgarded it. Most of the times the advice and suggestions given by CSM members is worse than a lot of the idiots posting in these forums.

I thought CCP got caught doing special favors for nullsec, so they created the CSM so that they could continue to do special favors for nullsec and it wouldn’t be considered cheating. Isn’t that how it went?
