CSM Vote Result confusion

And doubling down on it. Well, at least you’re consistent.

It’s textbook bigotry. Our system is no more corrupt than any other democracy.

Revolutionists always want the old system of power holding to collapse and be destroyed, not to be part of it. To be part of it is to be part of the problem.
The leading revolutionist also, when establishing new system would want to get rid of their fellow revolutionists, if they hold power, because they see it as not complete revolution when the power is held by someone else than ideologically the purest one - themselves. Then it becomes dictatorship and all roles in revolutionary government have to be held by weak but loyal people, who dont have ambition. All people have to be like that.

You spelled authoritarian oligarchy wrong.

/sigh

Revolution I think, is the drug that is worse than sickness.
Reforms are whats actually helping.

Revolution is what they call it when nobody will vote for you.

Nope, it’s generalisation. Bigotry would imply holding some form of hatred or intolerance towards a group based on opinion and prejudice; feeling sorry for a group because they’re misled by their leaders is not bigotry, it’s pity.

My perception of politics being somewhat corrupt is reinforced every time a politician shows themselves to be corrupt.

The hatred or intolerance towards a system you’re not directly familiar with, the stereotype of the system itself, feeling “pity” for other people when you don’t know what you’re talking about - just be honest and call it what it actually is.

Bigotry is definitely the wrong word.

My disdain for politicians, especially career politicians, is not limited to any one nation.

Do you really want me to go there?

You won’t like it if I do and it’d probably be a violation of the forum rules.

You actually volunteered to come back for this, Brisc? :grinning:

He’s saying that a system set up allegedly for the benefit of the people is not fit to be overseen by the people.

That its such a system that without being in it, you cant understand it.

Plebs dont know whats good for em, so the chosen Patricians make the sacrifice, as hard as it is, to make sure that society conforms to their expectations.

Because they only have our best interests at heart.

Honest.

I would just prefer if you’d treat people like they’re people, not stereotypes, and give them the benefit of the doubt until you have an actual reason based on actual interaction to doubt them. That’s all. That doesn’t violate any rules.

Come on over to the US, I’ll be happy to take you around and show you that our system isn’t as flawed as it’s made out to be.

I’ve met politicians both in Europe and the US, being a military brat means that I’ve lived in many places, including a 3 year exchange tour in the US; for the most part I’d trust them about as far as I can throw them, regardless of nationality.

In general public opinion seems to back that up, politics often appearing on the #1 spot of any list of disreputable professions; people trust second hand car salesmen and estate agents/realtors more than they trust a politician ffs.

Add shades and lose the bad dye job :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a disappointing attitude. People are people. Some are good, some are bad, all deserved to be judged on their own merits, not on what they do for a living.

Yeah, there may be some decent people in politics. There might be really nice prison guards, too. There may even be some engineers that are bad at math.

All that I am asking is that you give us a chance before setting up the guillotines.

Don’t like politicians? Fine. But some of us will try go represent you to ccp (in answer to the earlier question) So maybe give us a chance first, see who is here, listening and engaging. Admittedly it is not a large sample of the council but we ARE here.

Obviously we are doing the elitist scum thing wrong OR we really care and are trying to engage you right from the start. So I ask you . . . What do you WANT from your CSM? What expectations do you have and, given the fact that we sign NDAs, what measurables would you like to use?

I liked Dunk Dunkle’s updates. They were mostly blank, but it still seemed like he cared.
