Guys, and by this I mean the playerbase, chill. Everyone loses their mind everytime something is about to change. And everyone is considering more or less just their own playstyle. CCP plays all styles, they play the entire game. They must ensure that the game survives and if they are doing what I think they´re doing then it´s a very good try to fix one of the games biggest issues.
This is how gamemaking works, iterations. You can´t expect them to magically get things 100% on the first try. They make a change, measure, and make new changes.
And to CCP, thanks guys. A lot of us know that you are trying and we get it. And most actually love the changes in the past years so keep doing what you are doing!
What I think is that its become a monthly game to try to show just how out of touch CCP is with the player base. Especially to pull the “here’s a buff to fuel bays” followed by “oh here’s a nerf to fuel usage” bait and switch. Three ship monte is more honest.
I know they’ve never bashed a bunch of citadels because if they did then citadels would have been nerfed within months of being launched, not two years later. They’ve also never taken part in a real fozziesov campaign, or again, that would have been fixed long ago.
What issue? People using their caps for PVP instead of krabbing all day?
So, wait a minute. Are you saying it’s wrong for someone to choose to krab in their capital? Would you prefer there be no capitals exposed in space, ever?
Neat! The cost of importing supplies to nullsec just doubled. This could be quite interesting and may help to decouple prices from Jita and encourage local production.
There are better ways to increase the demand of fuel:
Make citadels and all other structures much more fuel intensive to run services/reactions.
If no service is runningnthey are much more vulnerable (already announced. lets see when it happens)
(Beside that i would like to see the following change. No more jump clone restrictions but for every jump clone added in the same citadel double / triple the fuel demand for this service. This would lead in much less structurs build up. Now for every jump clone there is one more citadel in the system. This has nothing to do with the topic but would be a nice side effect )
Do not increase the cost of jumping around. As written before this affects only small groups to hard. JFing is already expensive enough.
Lower the output of the raw materials you need to produce fuel if the changes are not enough to increase the price
No, what he is saying is all people will be doing is Krabbing because carriers will yet again be worthless in pvp. No one is going to spend the isk to move them out to attack. Also, this means no one will invade space meaning content and free publicity for the game is gone.
No. I’m saying a few months ago people krabbing in caps was a huge issue due to ISK inflation, and after a nerf to fighter damage which barely dented ISK inflation and hurt PVP caps more, CCP are back to nerfing PVP caps again by making it more expensive to move caps and BLOPs to attack someone.
Krab caps are barely exposed. They only die if the pilot is either AFK/dumb, or due to AWOXing.
this is just a flat out lie. we manage to kill several and carriers can’t even afk anymore or they will lose more isk in fighters than the site is worth
That’s a garbage argument and you know it. This change and the way it was handled was yet again miss handled by CCP. For what feels like the millionth time this year. You can come up with the garbage argument everytime you want they cannot get it right 100% of the time. That is not the point. A lot of people are upset about the timeline of changes and how they affect them.
Then you come with the argument more or less everyone’s playstyle. Why does this then seem to nerf pretty much any group but goonswarm federation. If they would look at more or less everyone’s playstyle they would have noticed this might not be a good idea to implement we need to find a other way to achieve our goal. This looks on all sides like a half-assed attempt to achieve something because the alternative might have been more difficult to achieve
Guess it sucks for you being in a group of scrubs, cause in Goons, we give our cap pilots free fuel to do Ops with. This is why smaller groups are the ones being effected by this and not the larger ones.
For the 90% of actual PvP cap pilots, this means nothing.
Read iterations. Don´t be a child that expects things to change in an instant. Citadelbashing is boring, yes. Fozziesov isn´t fun either. But it takes time. You are seriously underestimating the amount of time it takes to make a significant change and the size of CCP to make said changes. They atleast try which is more than can be said about most games.
The change affects cap PVP:ing in no relevant matter. So the fuel is more expensive now, was that your biggest issue before? This is an attempt to hurt logistics.
