Delay Local

You mean kind of like your bitchy fiction that everyone is crapping their pants over your idea? Your posts along these lines are tiresome and boring. They invite derision.

You sure have given it quite a bit of time this day haven’t you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not if it can be destroyed or disabled…can’t do that with local currently. Can you?

Nullbears did crap their pants.
You can see the dramatic drop in March MER.
Its not a fiction.

Im not a ■■■■■.
I dont deal in derision.

Only to point out what sarcasm is.
I didnt engage your use of it.

It defeats the purpose of removing/delaying Local.

OAs can instead provide services like map scrambling, d-scan disruption or cloak detection, which are unrelated to Local.

They can still thus be destroyed/disabled to remove those effects.

You presented an idea. People didn’t like it. Not because they were crapping their pants, but because they didn’t like your idea.

Then stop with the nonsense about fear and incontinence.

Aaaannd you are still talking about it.

Nope. It is a clear and distinct nerf to local. That you cannot see this is not my problem. It is your problem. You cannot currently destroy local or do much of anything to it.

In any event, I am not going to defend this point any longer as that is not the kind of change I prefer. I have already noted I prefer an option where there are trade offs in what kind of intel the OA provides. Hopefully we’ll learn more in the coming months.

They didnt like it, cos it made them vulnerable.
It wasnt my idea for CCP to bug the chat.

Make me.

Just defining what it is, and is not, since you still seemed not to understand.
You brought up the issue of sarcasm, and used it, not me.

Ofc it is, thats the whole point.

Sure, none of which should return Local intel.
Otherwise, would defeat the purpose of removing/delaying Local intel.

There are many non-Local related services an OA can potentially provide, and as a disruptable/destroyable structure.

So you wont defend your point any longer, cos its not the kind of change you prefer?
Wat?

Actually i like this propose. But why stop here? What about we move it further?

Let’s make any module have some uncertainty. Let’s say activated module might spend its full cycle doing its stuff or not. Even if it is 99% reliable … You know how its going to continue? Something about lazy, separation from good players from lazy and all this stuff.

Actually that would be cool, but probably not the most fun mechanic. I would prefer that rare events mess you up rather than equipment failure. Like very rare NPC spawns, or a solar flare or whatever. Things that make New Eden less predictable and force a player response.

Some of these things exists, and CCP has been adding more in recent years so I think they share the same sort of vision and are trying to add complexity and uncertainty to the game to make it more interesting and more of a game of skill rather than mindless grinding. The problem, as always, is to do it in an entertaining and balanced way.

I hope they keep trying.

I’m wary of RNG, especially in a PvP based game.

There are two schools of thought on that.
One thinks RNG makes PvP more exciting.
The other that RNG creates a systemic imbalance.

Both are valid, and have answers to the other.

EVE does have a substantial amount of RNG built into it already.

As far as structure based effects, like the options of a potential OA, Id prefer they are clear, consistent and defined.

As a rule of thumb, I suggest that the more wide-spread/universal a change, the less RNG should involved. Laws of averages start to mess with those. Much better instead to apply RNG, in small amounts, to more specific/isolated incidents.

To anyone wondering, I am going to fight OA returning Local intel.
That must not be allowed to happen, and there are any number of non-Local related effects an OA can provide, alongside being disruptable/destroyable.

Removing/delaying Local with a structure, is redundant.

And you wonder why Aaron was surprised you were 37.

Aaaaaand still talking about it. So much for not giving it the time of day.

It is not hard to understand Salvos. I think such a change would be better but not the best.

Yes, and I’m still wondering why either of you are surprised I’m 37.

Guess where you can shove your bitchy sarcasm?

Then what would be the best in your view?

Miner, calm down

we don’t need you silly attitude here

This thread is the best example of why we need an ignore feature on the forums, one poster has been posting the same ■■■■ 158 times out of the 612 posts, another has 71.

Must be the “He who posts last is right” syndrome.

25% is a low record for Salvos, usually he has between 30-50% of all posts (lol)

Cross-reference that against number of posts addressed to me.

Dom has addressed me specifically 316 times, plus at least another 100 times without flagging. Check his profile.

Over 60% of his top 6 addressed posts, have been at me.
Guy has issues.

Some kind of moderator feature to relocate 1 v 1 discussions to private messaging would be SOOOOO useful.

This is the only thread to discuss one of the most important changes to the game ever. Most of us would actually like to do that.

316 from you vs 238 from me.
You have also publically stated you hate me.

For comparison, even Teckos and I are only 269 from him vs 262 from me.

Go find someone else to bother, Dom, instead of continuously trying to derail thread.

Rename thread to secret lovers :weary::grin:

I would like that too, but this guy wont stop trying to hump my leg wherever I post.

Lost count of how many times Ive had to try to return to topic past various forms of trolling.

It’s amazing. My posts induce a Pavlovian response…aaaaand you are still talking about my use of sarcasm. Tell us again how you don’t give it the time of day. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve already pointed out I think the OA should be like other structures where they have fitting options so players face trade offs in terms of the intelligence they want.
