Depths of the Abyss

The capital mutaplasmids will reflect the extra risk cost on TQ which will probibly make them stupidly expensive to the point that no one buys them xD

If you already bought the Molok, what is a few hundred more billions to get it properly blinged?

frigate abyssal’s are the way forward. Me and a corp mate farm T5 abyssals in 45mil Hawk’s with no implants

What’s the spawn chance for a Sansha/Angel/Concord room? Been running a few and still haven’t come across any of them yet. :frowning:

Roll rooms with /moveme, or it will take you too long.

that would be pretty awesome

Buy them on SISI

T1 dessies will do more than fine in lower level abyssal sites. T2 dessies will manage mid tier easy.

I don’t know about tech 2 dessies in higher tiers. They may still manage with a bit of bling.

But what i do know is that two D3’s will significantly out perform both cruisers and frigates. Switching modes on the fly allows them unparallelled versatility. The ability to tank harder when primaried, for longer and with a lower cool down than assault frigs. And with more dps than comparable assault frigs.

Tell me you honestly believe they wont immediately become the new meta for Abyss…

Is that a problem? At least they aren’t those stupid Gilas. I am so sick of Gilas.

And what, there were people who regularly won in A5? What’s the point in A6 if A5 is not profitable?

I believe it is yes.

Gilas are a problem too. But you can’t nerf them in isolation. And you can’t exclude them from Abyss space because they are technically Tech 1 cruisers.

Tech 3 dessies on the other hand can be easily excluded.

I honestly do not believe T3Ds are better than AFs, at least not in higher tier.
They can work fine in lower or mid tier, but still I believe AFs are better for those.
For example 2 Jackdaws won’t produce as much kinetic DPS as 3 hawks even under sharp shooter mode (at the same level of bling)
The same is true for 3 retributions and 2 confessors.
Yes one T3D do more damage than one AF (in sharpshooter mode) but the things is you have 3 AF but only 2 T3D, and T3Ds lose DPS in defense/propulsion mode.

On top of that I believe AFs are mostly using speed tank to avoid damage. Personally I tried AB+Local tank+Remote rep Draugur vs Tier 5 and god I’m not tanking as hard as I thought XD

Two D3’s in sharpshooter mode do very near the dps of three assault frigs. With the added bonus of more range. The difference won’t be noticed.

D3’s also benefit from e-war resistance and much larger capacitor.

They are definitely going to be a better ‘all-in-one’.

What you just said is no where near “significantly out perform” AFs/Cruiser.
I do not see the reason for banning them if they are just producing “very near dps in sharpshooter mode” compared to AFs.

I feel like CCP really, really wants to encourage people to fleet up, by any means necessary. If that means that they have to let 2 person teams have an advantage - so be it.

Dps is but one part of running pve otherwise people would use blaster megathrons instead of cruise ravens.

We’ll see how it plays out. But I’m expecting abyss to become confessors, jackdaws and gilas and not much else.

Nah… There is almost no application difference between a hawk and a Jackdaw, nor a Retri and a Confessor. Nothing huge difference like Blaster vs Cruise missiles…
Yes dps is only part of running pve, survival is another. T3Ds won’t have the tank of a gila or a HAC, nor the speed like a AF. They will struggle against some waves for example the Trig frigate+destroyer wave, as they could not tank it like a gila, nor kite it like a hawk.

After a day of extensive lvl5 and lvl6 testing (on Gilas and Sacrelidges respectively) I can give following feedback on the new features (I am crabbing lvl5s for the living):

  • Angels: pretty well done. Designed to punish paper-tanked kiters (they WILL tackle anything, forget about your Hawks and stuff. Agility and speed on their frigates is about the same as on the light drones). Maybe they could have bigger signature. Damage (~400 dps?) is fine, neut pressure can be too strong for what they are supposed to do. Btw, they have disfunctional trac/guidance disruptors atm, and I feel like those should go completely instead of being fixed. Maybe left for lvl6 only.

  • Concord/EDENCOM: underwhelming. (If there are some Thunderchilds on grid, approach on close-range rats to save yourself some ammo ). Neut marshal is no joke though, two of them killed me but I could push through If I played that room better. If this room can spawn 3 of them - only Gila can work around this…

  • Kiki/Drekavacs: a bit borked. Range and RRs should be cut down a bit. You are asking to project up to 800 dps or high enough alpha at 40 km range, or at 30 if the damage dealer can tank around 600 dps. Close range is untankable at all, at least 1300 hps didn’t cut it… Gila-only again? Takes too much time on a Sacrelidge for sure, also they punish Sac very hard by drone aggro, way more than they do punish Gila. Also, I feel like Drekavacs are bugged, judging by their health bars. I guess they are supposed to be spawning at low HP.

  • Sansha: … wtf?.. 800-2000 perfectly applied dps death sphere 40 km wide?? And then you add tracking/guidance disruptors (which luckily do not work atm) and damps??.. 4+ Phantasms spawn is clearable only with a Gila, and then you have to send drones before a couple of frigates lock you (in an Exotic??) and apply damps… Either damage, or range, or all of the electronics on them should go. Maybe even two of those qualities. Also, their frigs could be made going faster so you could be able to stretch their blob in a reasonable amount of time.

  • Rodivas: nothing to say really. If anything, they could be kiting you rather than approaching. At least thats what I think they are doing.

  • Speed clouds: promising but broken atm. Too much of them can be run breaking too easily. 4 neut vedmaks spawning in such cloud is run breaking as well, initial boost is enough for them to hug you at 3 seconds after you enter the room. Also, they are not very distinct.

Also I can relieve my fellow abyss crabs by saying that I skipped through ~80 lvl5 Electrical abyss rooms with clearing new or menacing ones and, while having some close calls, never lost my 500m isk gila. Some adjustments to fit were made, but absolutely nothing costly.

Sansha is broken though, I cleared 5 Phantasm room only thanks to myself spawning inside a speed cloud (and this was lvl5 abyss… srsly?). And too much speed clouds will make you spend 8-9 minutes in a single room easily, with nothing you could do about it. I hope both Sansha and clouds will be fixed.

Looks like lvl6 is only for gilas based on your feedback
