Rest easy Blaze knowing there’s people taking care of the ones left behind :pensive: skins bought, training to fly the colors.

Is there a way a special firework set could be made to do an in game send off?

I’ll get em for you if you want, I’m going to buy mine tonight. I’m pretty sure charity donation drives are not scam-legal, so if a CCP representative could pop in and confirm I can sort yours also.

@ISD_Stall ???

I cannot confirm or deny, but either way you will be able to sell the skins for is so you shouldn’t have a problem. Use the contract system to be safe.

Oh right never mind then. Be nice if this charity drive was covered by the same rules as the PLEX for good drive wouldn’t it?

I never knew CCP Blaze, never met him or ran into him in game. I may have seen him in a couple CCP videos. Regardless, what CCP is doing here really moved me, as I can certainly appreciate the efforts to support his young family. I bought the skins yesterday, and mailed out my alliance last night encouraging them to do the same. I would also encourage CCP to erect a monument in their home system!

So, in Iceland you pay taxes on revenues, not profits.

The way this works in the rest of the world, the revenues are just revenues. Let’s say they equal $XXX. These revenues are added to the bottom line, and if the firm is in profit then they are taxed accordingly. However, CCP can then allocate $XXX dollars to the charitable purpose it has advertised, resulting in a tax deduction and ā€œcostā€ to the business. All they do is pay out the money to a trust or foundation (or charitable corporation), and enter the payment as a cost in their accounts. Hence the tax liability is zero.

Steve, you are not working for CCP. You should not comment on the way that firm accounts for its revenues and costs. Your failure to properly grasp how these matters operates creates the highly regrettable impression that you are easily influenced, and are perhaps being used as a disposable mouthpiece by actors within CCP.

Obviously, the decent thing to do is for CCP to make clear that 100% (or more) of the proceeds of sales with go to the intended beneficiaries. If they cannot do this, they should never have put themselves out as charitable brokers…

I’m a little bit confused here. The items being sold are sold via plex. Will 100% of the process (IE plex) be donated to the family? What will that do… If they are converting it to RL currency, how does discounts apply (like the one we have now)… In short, what is the conversion rate?

To the posters concerned about about the internal workings of CCP’s legal obligations to pay tax please move along and discuss elsewhere this is not the time or place for this, to the rest of you please support CCP Blaze’s family at this very difficult time by buying the skins if you can and encourage others to do so.

Trying to buy Plex to pick up the skins. When I hit buy it just goes to a screen that keeps flashing like its stuck. Never loads so I can hit pay type. Anyone else having this issue? Not sure how to work around it. Tried closing the browser and it still doesn’t help.

And you could actually read, where I’m just passing on information that’s been stated by CCP.

And yes, some taxes are on revenue. VAT, for example.

is not turn this nice gesture into another toxic Players vs CCP crap slinging show. It’s really cool what they’re doing for Blaze’s family and a couple of % tax one way or another is literally beside the point.

Buy the SKINs.
