Indeed they are. So far most of the refreshed meta modules are very useful and there is no shame using them over a t2 one that may be too expensive or doesn’t share an attribute, a meta one gives.
Almost wish they made T2 modules harder to get/make. Make them not so cheap.
With MJDs being added to ABCs, could we also look into adding grapplers to their options?
Grapplers were added to help battleship tracking/application in brawling situations. ABCs use large weapons and could also benefit from them and maybe create some brawling fits. Especially since all ABCs (except the talos) have no drones or utility options to counter frigates (yes im aware that is part of their design). The balancing point is that a grappler uses a fair amount of grid for an ABC, so if you want to use it, youll make sacrifices in other areas (tank/damage).
I didn’t realize ABCs had tank. I thought they were all paper DPS.
Edit: Sarcasm warning.

Next proposal : “add more tank to ABC !”
fixed for you
Why would a glass cannon need a strong tank. They have speed + dps on their side only thing they might need is a slot for a neut.
Can we get some server hardware upgrades, too? It’s disgusting that a 90 character fleet causes TC and Tidi with every single gate jump.
Ireland is having a potato harvest issue. We will have to just wait for the next season or import, which isn’t cheap.
Now it’s Lokis Online when are those getting nerfed and the Proteus needs a buff.
So… is there a date for the March release?
Sorry, I’m a bitter old vet returning to the game.
Can someone enlighten me on this amazing Ferox fit that is causing so many problems?
That. Or another variation is to use a small cap booster in place of an LSE and add another mag stab.
It’s really less the ferox fit that’s causing problems so much as just that the way everything currently fits together, nothing else does everything as well as the Ferox. It’s a generalist that doesn’t sacrifice anything. Cap life’s good, speed’s good, firepower’s good, range is good… it’s got a huge sig, but hey, shield battlecruisers do.
Less ‘amazing’ and more ‘no major defects’, whereas everything else has predictable defects. Armor ships are too slow to control range against it, missiles get firewalled and have flight time, Hurricanes are the runner-up, but they’re about 20% softer, align slower, and have about 40km less optimal at long ranges.
And it’s dirt cheap. Under 50M for a hull when T2 hulls are 4x that or more. So why throw away 300M on an Eagle when a 50M Ferox will do the job just as well? So they’re everywhere. It’s like the old Drakefleets.
Wow! that’s a lot of tank. Way too much in my opinion. Why so much tank? Why no MJD? Why no extension of range?
Is that much tank really that useful in these fleet fights?
Or the old Hellcat Abaddon fleets. Or the old Maelstrom fleets. Or the old Zealot fleets. Or the old Hurricane fleets. Or the not so old Svipul fleets. Or the not so old Harpy fleets.
I don’t see the problem.
3 of those docrtines far exceed the price of the ferox doctrine. The harpy doctrine currently might actually be comparable due t2 costs. Svipul might break even but was nerfed. Hurricane is comparable to ferox fleet, but as @Arrendis pointed out, the ferox is better in the long run and more versatile.
So either those doctrines dont match the price to effectiveness ratio of the ferox, or they were nerfed due to them being too strong (like what is happening with the ferox).
MJD’s take an enormous amount of fitting space. It’s another MWD in terms of PG and Capacitor hit. For what? 100km every 3 minutes? If you don’t get scrammed?
Oh, but wait, that’s only the battlecruisers. You leave your logi behind. You leave your tackle and anti-support behind. And all that could’ve been avoided by just using a few Command Destroyers to jump you around.
Unless the entire fleet (Rokhs, Ravens, the upcoming MJD sniper Tornados and Nagas) has MJDs, MJDs are worthless.
Except that nothing is happening to the Ferox. Literally a single module is being changed on most fits. 2 at the most. One of those changes might lower dps some. The other… same dps, same effective range, slightly tankier with a smaller sig.
