To be fair, CCP has never been bad at marketing. They’ve just been in their own way too many times. And yeah, the F2P roadmap required the gradual killing of the original emergent dynamic foundations, in preparation. That presents a lot of real struggle for any marketing approach.
Western players have nothing of input where it comes to PA. Nothing. Not one bit. PA has always done as it pleased. It has constantly pushed publishers and original developers, after the grace period of payouts (which in EVE’s case is only decent for select few, and those who already took the watch).

I wonder will this lead to the introduction of a Korean server for EVE? I reckon that one of the main reason EVE wasn’t very popular in Korea and Japan is crap ping they have on Tranquility.

I have seen this happen in another star cluster I loved to play with, relations between the players and the developers did not fare very well. But I hope for the best!

And let’s be honest, those days are over. CCP have already replaced most of the player types of those days, and exposed most of the remaining ones to processes of normalisation.
There is not going to be any Summer of Rage 2.0. It is simply no longer possible.
And even if there were some momentum, there no longer is a cohesive EVE community. Why do you think CCP pushed so consistantly for all the measures on community management, forum changes, ISD changes, splitting up information streams, segregating stimuli and so forth?
The Summer of Rage was the last Trauma the founders/core were willing to go through. They learned from it, they were smarter, simply put. They had be, suddenly. Some got tossed out, some replaced, but a strict agenda was put in place. And that has worked.

I dont agree.
CCP has been very good at hyping within its own existing community, but not marketing proper.
As I said, Western and Eastern gamers are socially/culturally very different, with very different priorities and levels of tolerance.
Look at what happened on Serenity, and look at BDOs success in Asian markets.
07 CCP Falcon, my best to you and CCP in this new endeavor but as I read thru the countless number of replies, I too am cancelling my account and uninstalling what used to be a good game.
I truly hope that Eveonline will prosper in the future but I don’t hold any judgement that it will at this point.

yeah, I think that too. Especially since we already have skins, subscriptions, plex and skill injectors.
What i believe is, that PA is interested in CCPs experience to somehow sustain a game for almost two decades and in upcoming titles, such as eve nova.
They know that eve works well that way it does now, but lacks people and innovations… bringing in real P2W content would break CCPs neck and therefore PAs, since their investment would be gone.
I highly doubt something big will change… maybe more skins or, like already mentioned by ccp, skins for structures… but nothing substantial.
Idk if i am right, wrong or too naive… time will tell. Until then i will enjoy what this game has to offer o7
