It actually isn’t that much at all. And there’s still dependancies on financial targets. Suffice to say this is a deal between unequal partners, no matter how much alignment there might be on thinking or approach, with CCP having a lot of hard work and some hard targets to tackle.

You really do not know ■■■■ about bussines …

Sorry, Don’t want to hear a bunch of platitudes from CCP. I want to hear from the owners as to what their plans are for our beloved game.

That’s not what it means.

Who care about Jita? Pearl will take all trade in his hands, and pockets … :joy::joy::joy::joy:

yeah and thats kind of a safety net for pa
if ccp reaches the targets then cool
pa can make profit
if they dont reach the targets then pa gets ccp for a cheaper price and liquidates it
they still get what they want out of the deal either way
what they want in the latter case is anyones guess
maybe the tranquility server tech or other stuff ccp has worked on

The thing to remember in all of this is that Black Desert Online and EVE Online are more similar that people want to lead on.

Yes, BDO has a more aggressive monetization system than EVE Online. But someone said something in this chat earlier that caught my attention.

They think BDO is dumbed down and not compared to the complexity of EVE Online.

Having played both (EVE Online for a lot longer) BDO has it’s complexities and has a steep learning curve in comparison to the likes of WoW, while not as complex as EVE Online of course.

When I started playing BDO in 2016/2017 there was some comfortable levels of complexity that I was familiar with from EVE Online.

Both games know how to be complex and how that creates a niche for their audience. So I do feel this is a good match.

Will EVE Online be the same? No, I do not believe they will remain independent for more than a year before having to implement Pearl Abyss’ suggestions, but that is what EVE Online needs.

EVE Online has been stagnant, with CCP being too stubborn to change their way or fix underlying issues, or touching things they shouldn’t because they break it. Having an outside eye for once will be good for CCP, and someone who has a financial hold on them to implement change is what is going to prevent CCP from being their same old stubborn selves.

TL;DR

BDO and EVE Online have similar levels of complexity, BDO is not as casual as one would think.
PA is now an outside eye to get CCP’s stubborn asses to implement needed changes and financially keep them committed to making good changes.
PA has a good history of implementing continuous free expansions (along with EVE Online) at a high degree of quality that adds new and engaging content to its players. The endgame keeps expanding for BDO players, while EVE Online endgame remains stagnant. This is good.

ccp “factory” not worth a penny

That’s some really nice PR from a character who has never posted before.

Not really. That’s Euro/US thinking, deal buffers, safety net, requirements. In Asia this is different, it’s considered a pressure mechanism of ownership.

CCP does not mention stipulations on failing to meet targets, which really is more interesting. But tech transfer is already part of the deal as such, so that isn’t it.

This is the end of eve as we know it and the beginning of another crappy p2w Korean project. Ive already seen multiples times how these ownership transfers go, and the outcome for players. SAD.

First good comment today

KUDOS

You probably know that Hillmar has no say in anything coming up from now, I would be surprised if he stays longer with the company than the usual couple of months grace period after an acquisition.

I have seen so many acquisitions in RL, that I can easily dismiss anything what is said now to just calm down the employees and customers. What will happen, because it always happens: brain drain, key people leaving, synergies / infrastructure merging (= lay offs), offices will be closed down (Iceland is a bad location to develop a Korean game), cultures will never mix after a takeover, those who paying the bill will define.

Someone compared the deal with Disney owning Marvel … well … who defines the culture in that relationship?

are you stupid or just pretending to be ???

sure but there is the other part of the deal which determines the price they pay for it and how they use it
maybe you are right about asian business thinking differently tho idk
