Dev blog: Introducing Resource Wars

If the time is that short, it’s crucial how the right people come together. Can you reveal the mechanic for that?

@Erethond The sites will range from rookie/frigate to battleship difficulty. They will be aimed at smaller fleets/groups and be time limited so you can guarantee moving around and quick PvE encounters.

The sites will give standings, LP and ISK so they can run the lower sites to get the standings. It’s new corporations, so no one will have the standings to begin with.

Yes, they will be higher than market prices and will be adjusted as the price rises.

There will always be ways to gank in EVE, I wasn’t endorsing it.

This isn’t a fix for players not interacting, it’s allowing them to interact with others while still learning and feeling progression at an earlier point than ‘go do the career agents and then come back to me’

I’ve mentioned this a few times now, the sites have very short timers.

So site must be mined in order to get reward? Now I know what to think about this feature…

Shocking, isn’t it? The mining sites must be mined? What’s next!? The hacking sites must be hacked?!? THE FIENDS!

No one has ever told us not to revamp missions or make more nor have I said this at all  This just happens to be a group PvE feature in high sec - it’s not a sign that we will never remake or make new missions.

As far as who I was speaking to though - this feature has a definite new player friendly focus and we have thought of it as an alternative option for new players who do not enjoy career agents to do something more group/interaction focused while progressing. However, as it goes to tier 5 this content can extend beyond just NPE

because having some NPC miners at site and defend them as a player is so hard to think of? or helping them mine faster as miner? fuc**** shocking yes…

They absolutely can just warp to the site  they will be joined in the site by an AI Empire fleet and other capsuleers

Having some NPC miners at the site might be an option, who knows? But since the site’s timed, if the hauler doesn’t get filled in time, nobody gets anything, it seems. So either:

Scenario 1: The NPC miners aren’t enough to fill the hauler in time - you still don’t get anything.
Scenario 2: The NPC miners ARE enough to fill the hauler - then why did you idiots bring mining ships? OMG, I HATE YOU NEWBIES! BRING COMBAT SHIPS YOU MORONS, WE COULD BE GETTING MORE BOUNTIES!!!

Or are you really gonna tell me that’s not how the experienced combat pilots will react? Done incursions? Met EVE players before?

You are assuming these are high reward sites loke incursions. These do not sound like that at all. These sound like sites that EVE Uni will love as they could run basic courses on missioning and the UI while running these sites or where the old Angel Project would sit waiting go help newbs with ready fit ships to hand out. It is for helping people and improving tje new player experience, not an isk faucet to be milked on the most efficient way possible.

Of course!

No, I’m assuming that the experienced EVE players who are eager to complain and looking for small things (OMG, you have to bring MINERS? to a MINING site?!?) to complain about… are going to complain. It’s what EVE players do best: they bitch and moan.

Can I bring my Marshal when it comes out?

Scenario 1: because NPC miners don’t take damage they will mine faster and objective will be completed
Scenario 2: more players miner means objective will be completed faster

Does that mean I will see you at Vegas?
