HS only. Its mentioned somewhere near the top.
I live in nullsec tho. I gotta jump to high just to look for these so I can go to LP store and hope they have new cosmetic items?
/ccFail
It’s bad enough there’s no NPC agents to run missions for. I shouldn’t have to jump/deathclone everytime I want to do something
There’s no capacity limit on dungeons in runescape, everyone can participate. Runescape is king mmo.
The skins will wind up on the market.
Kind of looking forward to this. Though, it looks like it’s going to expand the Factional Warfare system, which IMHO suffered when DUST and WiS was removed. Anytime new content is added, I find it fascinating.
Really agree with this.
In theory getting miners fleeting with combat ships is a great idea. This would give miners the option to achieve safety through their own strength.
This is executed so poorly, however, that it would be better not to release it at all.
At the very least full sites should be combat probeable, with the probed down details bypassing the locked gate.
but for now I cant get into game, its check some version. and for hours I am with out logging in.
Good to hear.
It seems like a feasible way to make emergent salvage gameplay work is through the existing ‘abandon wrecks’ feature.
Mission running player (A) has the option to ‘abandon wrecks for LP’ which send a ping to nearest NPC Noctis. Player A can continue on to the next mission site, log off, or choose to protect the site for NPC Noctis when it arrives. A 3rd party player (B) has the ability to combat scan down this NPC Noctis either to salvage the abandoned wrecks themselves or attack the NPC Noctis for a chance to scoop whatever salvaged loot, unique module, or skin is inside. Attacking the NPC Noctis would trigger a defense fleet.
Player A would only receive a proportional LP thank-you payout if the NPC Noctis successfully salvaged all wrecks in the site without being blown up.
Not reading through 200+ posts cause I’m lazy. L…A…Z…Y…
However… @CCP_Affinity, any chance these could make an appearance in Lowsec (specifically non-FW LS)? You know… BEST SEC! Don’t care about rewards… although some would be nice , just new stuff to shootz. I dig explosions!
Thanks a bunch for considering!
With the isk you can generate in nullsec the cost of the skins is going to be trivial. Look around, there are NPC agents all over. Even lvl 5 agents. The highsecites will never have access to them.
This is low tier PVE content to help newbro’s along and give vets a lil incentive to help. It shouldn’t always be about the isk/hr. I honestly hope this isn’t. Keep your farms in nullsec. And let there be an area to train the future troops to come try and burn them.
So the idea is; Everyone must start out as a rookie miner/combat fleet member?
You then earn LP enough to buy a crate of stuff to proceed to the next level, rinse and repeat until you reach the maximum level, presumably lvl 4 as it is highsec only.
So what aside from a bit of isk (I imagine not much in lower levels) are the rewards for this?
How long is it expected to take to reach each level? Will completing one fleet allow you to proceed or will it take multiple? Spending too much time earning little to no rewards in the lower levels is very lilkely to turn a lot of players off.
What are the end rewards for those who bother working their way through this?
What are the risks involved from non consensual pvp?
Are there limits on what size ship can enter each site. You mention top tier can use battleships, can I bring a T3 a Hac or T2 logi instead of a battleship?
What are the fleet sizes for each level? Will one guy with an alt, one mining one combat fit +NPC’s be classified as a fleet or will you need to sit around (possibly for hours depending on what time of day you play) waiting for more people to join the fleet?
What happens if 5 miners join a fleet but no combat players do?
I know there are more details coming but these are pretty important things that I think should have been covered in the initial blog. The information provided in this blog leaves many more questions than answers…
Even “minutes” is still time in which a fleet is secure from player interaction. And adding the mechanic and showing players that it can be done sets a precedent for you to be pressured to expand such features in the future. As someone who has spent a lot of time pushing the limits of the game and finding ways to abuse/misuse mechanics, I’m concerned that this is teetering on a slippery slope that you DO NOT need to tread.
Also, I might have seen your prior comments, except these new forums aren’t exactly ideal for reading 150+ posts in a thread. Style was chosen over substance
Except they’re not, of course. You’d have to completely fill the site and keep anyone from using the normal ways to circumvent gates. So unless you think every site will be completely filled by people who all already know and trust one another… no, these aren’t ‘secure’.
Solo players will be able to go in without any group, so… minimum fleet size is 1. And if you just have miners… drop combat drones.
They will in fact be very open to non-consensual pvp - If you have a bit of ganking in mind, just join a fleet as a combat pilot and your targets are simply there waiting for you. Don’t even need to go looking for them, you’ll be in the same fleet.
I’m not sure Devs thought this through very well…
I’m sure they considered that, and will applaud you as you get CONCORDOKKEN’d.
That actually doesn’t sound right, I know the blog says you can have a hybrid fit but the requirement of a fleet of one seems a little silly…
Dropping combat drones also depends on what level you are doing, what ship type you are using, player skill level, etc.
This is why I asked for feedback from a Dev, players speculating isn’t good enough…
There’s no way to avoid the ‘fleet of 1’ minimum, if you want solo players to be able to to join folks they don’t know and help out in a site that lasts maybe 10m. People have to be able to warp in without being in a fleet—in effect, a ‘fleet’ of 1.
And sure, the effectiveness of drones will depend on how many of you there are, what you’re in, what level you’re working at… but you know, gimme a half-dozen skiffs loaded up with shield bots, and you can do quite a lot when the objective is just ‘fill the haulers’, not ‘kill all the rats’.
Who’s going to applaud? The capsules of the miners you just ganked?
I doubt it, most highsec players will more likely stop doing the content after being ganked.
And as being concorded is part and parcel of ganking anywhere in highsec, I very much doubt it will be seen as anything other than it is - Fun for the gankers…
Well, let’s look at the conversation chain.
Who does ‘they’ seem to refer to when it’s in response to ‘Devs’?
