Well, instead of an injector item, they could use a booster item that just brings up the Alpha SP/hr to be the same as the Omega SP/hr for 1 day. But they’d have to get rid of the “total 5 million SP” hard limit. I’m sure they’ve thought of it, and rejected it because the injector lets them easily keep that 5 mil limit.
Suggestion:
‘Daily Alpha Injector’ - any Alpha Account that uses this should be enabled to multibox (play with other Daily Alpha Injectors or Omega Accounts at the same time).
My big concern is that this will make it cheaper to create single purpose alpha alts. For instance alts whose only purpose is to be T2 catalyst gankers. Instead of spending 500 plex to sub for a month to train the necessary skills you can spend a fraction of that to get just the skills you want. I think there are going to be more people doing this and testing CCP’s enforcement of their rules against 1 person controlling more than 1 alpha account simultaneously. Multiple computers or VM’s allows for simultaneous login of alpha accounts and CCP has been very lax about enforcing their rule against it.
Solution: CCP please make it possible for us (the players) to determine for certain if another character is alpha or omega. That way when we run into players that are running multiple/alt alpha accounts we can report them. Unless, of course, you are actually intending for this to make it easier for alpha-ganker fleets to break your rules.
For Skill Injectors they said it makes sense because another player has trained the skill points you inject - ‘somebody else has done the work already’. so now you just buy skill points directly from ccp?!
why not make a small version of skill extractor/injector instead?
and I still would wish for omega time in smaller portions - for the casual weekend player. maybe 5 days or 10 days. Im not paying 15 eur per month anymore if I can play only a few days out of the 30. there are many other games to do that I buy one time and play forever - with the occasional extra cost for dlcs and micro transactions.
the new alpha training option is NOT a ‘training’ option and therefore a bad idea imho.
it effectively is a training option thanks to the one every 24 hour limit. 50k sp/24 hours = 2083 sp/hr which is well within normal training rates.
or if they are using plex as currency, that 310 days would cost 5500 plex, which is a considerable saving over the 6200 plex figure you quote. And with omega status and attributes it is very possible it takes their training time under 300 days which would save even more.
They have to be alpha status to use them at all so…
I think I answered you elsewhere, but to put it here for others to see:
Nope. the 5 million limit includes the unallocated pool. (I’m almost entirely certain about this. 99%)
What a rubbish. Eve is falling apart. I’m glad of my decision to cancel subscription.
Quicker, not cheaper. (At least, not when the other alpha change hits, expanding the skill list)
I support this. I would much rather see smaller subscription time increments than this complicated new mechanism.
They’ll never do this.
Consider the following scenario: A person keeps an account alive solely to act as a cyno occasionally. Today, you need to subscribe for a month to be able to use the cyno, even if you only use it four times a month. With more granular omega time packages, that person can simply activate the cyno account for the shortest possible time, use it, then let the omega time elapse.
This has the effect of massively reducing the revenue CCP collects from users who infrequently log in. It’s a boneheaded move for them to do.
I have only one question: When will be all trade skills available for alphas, so that I can break Eve’s economy? The wet dream of every market pvper.
But when it’s available for everyone it becomes self correcting so you get no benefit.
Who voted for you at all ?
Captain’s Carters removed from the game.
Asteroids Environment on the Missions and Complexes disappeared.
Where is all this ? But then you enter a new donate.
CCP that with you ?
Alpha market bots I fear!
Easily created and in minutes replaced if necessary.
Just realized something, they remove nice stuff, replacing it with microtransactions.
Can someone please tell me if this kind of abuse will be possible with this system.
This scenerio involves an omega player that is used as a supercarrier pilot with 100M skillpoints already trained.
- As an omega my subscription is coming up.
- I let subscription expire pushing my account into Alpha.
- I now buy up a ton of these skill injectors from the market using the isk I got from super ratting with the toon.
- Each day I inject one of these injectors but do not apply them. Thus they accumulate in my unallocated pool.
- I am now training at the same rate that I would for an Omega account without paying for the Omega account.
- I continue this process for 2 weeks.
- When there is an op for which supers are actually needed (or I just need to move thing: the reason does not matter) I sup the account for 1 month.
- I use the account and let it train as normal for that 1 month AND allocate all the skill points I had accumulated.
- I then let the sub expire into alpha and start to repeat the process.
- 2 weeks later, there is another reason for the pilot to be subbed for Omega.
- I sub the account for Omega AND allocate the skill points I had accumulated.
The end result is I have now trained my account for 3 months worth of Omega while only pay for 2.
IF this is possible, then CCP has achomplished 2 things:
1 - Skillpoints are now coming out of thin air (something they said would never happen). This one happens whether or not the scenerio above is possible.
2 - Made it to where an isk rich player could continue to fully train their accounts while not subscribed.
I suspect the Alpha injector will not be useable by a character with more than 20 million skill points, as that is the expected Alpha max.
Except you paid for the injectors, which were bought with plex, at a cost higher than that of a single month of omega?
