Dev Blog: October Balance Pass!

Define comparatively low?
I mean I just made a 50k shield falcon. Sure it’s not fitting a full range of ECM, and it’s not jamming out 7 ships at once any more. But I wouldn’t think 50k is a very low number for a cruiser personally. You now need to balance your jamming vs your tank, and I think that’s a trade off perfectly in the spirit of EVE.

And you’re the one who’s saying ‘it’s ok that wormhole inhabitants are getting nerfed to hell because other people cheated’. I’ve pretty consistently said ‘fix the cheating, but keep your promise to the wormholers not to screw them over. It’s not hard. Put in a damned script that lets the HIC drop its mass but gives no bubble and self-scrams the ship so the MWD turns off and won’t turn back on’.

It’s not hard. CCP could 100% honor the promises they made to people’s faces at Fanfest last year about this very topic. They don’t have to make themselves liars.

PS: I wonder what was used to roll Wormholes before HICs?

so like cooldown on target that was locked before?

50k is pretty low for a Recon Cruiser. Huginns come in around 70. Lachesis with a full rack of EWAR still hits around 60. Rapier’ll do 65+, too.

Whatever fit does 65k on the Rapier should do it on the Falcon as well, since the Falcon starts off ahead of the Rapier with EHP. I almost certainly didn’t maximise it, was literally a cookie cutter extenders & invulns fit with a MWD & some ECM. I just did it as a ‘well what tank level is decent’ experiment.

This idiotic changes of HICs and ECM there is nothing else just Goonswarm abuse of CSM. The question is in the competence of the CSM in which Goonswarm pushing necessary changes

How so? Firstly, Fozzie Claws have a sub-2 second align time. If they had a 3 second align time, Insta-Lock Thrashers had no issues of catching them. Nevertheless, people still die in their Fozzie Claws on a regular basis to all sorts of defensive efforts. For instance, yesterday I died to a Hawk that was being repaired by a FAX. Great Gameplay. Secondly, Fozzie Claws warp at 10 AU and defender Claws warp just as fast. Thirdly, on a bait you can catch those Claws easily with other Claws and Insta lock Corms. Not all, but a number. And fourthly, PVP fitted rattlesnakes are also a very nice counter to Claws as some more competent elements in Delve show on a regular basis.

My points stand: Brisc has no clue what he is talking about, or feigns being clueless because Claws are a long standing sore point in the side of null sec cartels.

Before the HIC trick was thought up, we used to roll our C4->C5 static with battleships and a cloaky orca. Orca goes in, cloaks, the battleships go back and forth until it crits, then the orca comes back with the prop running and full plates online.

And when the +/-10% screwed us, we’d play craps with a Drake or Rapier, depending on who was around… and then scan our way out to wait for a connection to get back in, for the 40% of the time we got locked out.

Your 100% right. Lurch HICs have been used in wormholes. But literally at most 1% of the time cause they are a horrendously terrible choice. Point of fact I haven’t seen one ever used in the close to 7 years i’ve lived in wormholes. Which means it’s accurate to say they’re not used in wormholes. According to you it’s accurate to say “French people fu#% goats” cause you saw a few people in the news did. Technically true but very misleading.

Wormholers are not inherently cheaters. Also refer to the previous response as it applies to the fact that your saying arrendis’s alliance if fine with cheaters simply because some of the members are cheating.

That’s 1 web on the Rapier and Huginn. Building a Falcon with 1 jam, MWD, and tank…

129k, no implants, no boosts. Falcon’s a tanky bird, though, and that’s a single jam. The cyno build I’d love to use hits half a million EHP with heat. 600k with the right implants… and 749k with boosts.

It’s also about 7.2b from shields to pod. Soooo… yeah, I don’t actually use that build.

(I mean, it’s me, so… I might… but not with the A-types. The C-types would bring it down to 3.5, and 522k. That, I might do… but then Asher’d make sure to leave my arse behind with no cover, and I’d get killed by some doofus in a Thrasher.)

I propose a module called the “Higgs bane” when activated it reduces your mass by 90% and prevents all targeting until 10 seconds after the cycle ends.

Lurches don’t target. They have bubbles.

I read it as it breaks the locks at the start of the cycle but doesn’t prevent locks during its cycle.

“The zeroing will be removed from the combat interceptors (Claw, Crusader, Raptor, Taranis), and it will remain part of the bonuses for fleet interceptors (Stiletto, Malediction, Crow, Ares).”

  • I do not understand what is the point … There are shock frigates, with a suitcase … you will destroy 4 of the chain … Better change would have made them less dps and more useful in other plans …
  • And yes, about the HIC, are you serious? Do you understand the consequences for the inhabitants of WH? I think you should compensate for this … Because clapping holes in WH will become unbearable !!!
  • And yes, without compensation, these changes, I think you should return the joint CP on nerf ships in full!

LoL… Ok, I was just doing a clean pod and T2 modules build :stuck_out_tongue:
Also went 2 Jams on mine.
But yeah… I’m not seeing why there are so many complaints that the Falcon is paper thin, when it can fairly easily have a solid tank. It just can’t have a solid tank & 7 ECM all at the same time.

Don’t stress yourself over that. My stance on cheating is pretty much a matter of public record, both here and in the pieces I’ve written for INN. If there’s evidence, it needs to get submitted so CCP can ban the cheaters. If there isn’t, then accusations are just empty noise and slander. CCP has the data. They have the tools designed specifically to catch cheaters. Let them do their jobs.

That was a dark time before living in a wormhole was even really possible so we don’t talk about it.

Real talk though people just used whatever ship with an MWD on. Left the hole but on the return trip they activated the MWD to raise their mass. Essentially the opposite of what we do with HICs now but with a very small change in overall mass unlike with HICs -80% mass with an active T1 bubble. It wasn’t very effective and around 20% of the time someone would get trapped on the other side of the collapsed hole which is a very annoying situation to be in.

Residents 00:

  1. We are hampered by the chain-clogs that calumnize and kill our Hulks
  2. drop out of WH!
    What are we doing?
  • we will kill the zero-tacker, we will close with boblies as in old times
  • still nerf the overflow
  • Profit…

Right. And my Higgs Bane™ will only reduce mass and prevent targeting. No bubbles involved. Purely to replace the old mass reduction from HIC bubbles.
