Did I miss your answer? Some people who want the c-ceptors crippled already said it wont change a thing, that malediction and ares will fill the gap (with around 33% less damage), that just numbers increase (meant Accounts… good for ccp) and the result will be the same . And if u have such a problem with the claw and its alpha (entosis, driveby) why dont u just try to change just that instead of gimping all of them (lowering the alpha is still not ok imo)
You are literally the only person I have ever heard argue that the Damavik is in a good spot.
Look at the numbers, Damaviks are on half as many kills as Vedmaks and 1/3 as many kills as Leshaks. Obviously, they’re not being used as much as other ships. I notice you’ve not been using them much lately, either.
Maybe they’re okay on the Tama gatecamp, but everything else we’ve heard from folks is that the Damavik is gimped by the lack of mids.
Look at my killboard and then tell me again that I’m a cap/supercap pilot. I’ve never had a cap killed by bombers bar or any interceptor gangs.
For crying out loud, people. Stop making assumptions when you can find out the answer with a few keystrokes.
It’s a frigate that needs to be shooting at the same target for 2 minutes to hit max damage. Most frigate fights are hitting smaller targets. They don’t live for 2 minutes. So why use the wrong tool for the job?
Right - so give it another mid so it can be more useful as tackle.
But that doesn’t change the math, man. There’s 3.75 whole races of other T1 frigates that do the job as well, cheaper, without needing skills that are only useful for 3 ships.
I mean, it’s great that it’ll be more useful for tackle, but to get that, you either sacrifice spool-up time (drop a Radiation Sink) or survivability (drop literally anything else you had in the lows). So why use it, instead of a Punisher?
Because folks like it? Because they think it looks cool? Because they want to show off they’ve got the ship and the skills?
You’re operating under the assumption that people are always going to do what’s logical and mathematically correct.
Regardless, like I said before, this is the only time I’ve seen anybody claim that the Damavik is well-balanced.
It’s not well-balanced. I’ve got one, and I wouldn’t call it well-balanced. But it already has 2 utility slots that are not in the mids. Why not move one of those?
“people will just bring more” isn’t a reason to not do something.
There are finite numbers of people out there. If they could bring more, they could have already done so. People don’t bring ‘just enough’ to do things.
(and I want it gone from all ceptors.)
This is targeted ECM jammers, not ECM burst jammers.
so the burst jammers will still operate the same way?
Herf derf
Yes. This won’t impact a burst jammer that just drops a lock but doesn’t prohibit you from locking again.
thank you that was really helpful information
“On the other hand, we saw increased overall roaming activity after the change and feel it succeeded in giving interceptors a unique and powerful role that got people out of station and into space.”
how can you say this is a great thing and then nerf the ceptors that are good at exactly that content and say straight faced that it “works both for roamers and fleets”? It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. nobody’s gonna solo roam in the nullified ceptors now, why would they? and fleets won’t use them either.
oh and by the way I don’t no why u guys are upset about ecm changes really I mean the only ships that actually tack a hit are the falcon, rook, widow the scorpians are usually primaried in fleets any how and if you are dropping on carriers then ur still going to do it the same way in regardes to jamming and defanging them anywaz so there is no big difference there other than hopefuly some sort of tank bonuse for the falcon and rooks I mean I love my rook but most of the time there is more viable ships to ran for small gangs also u still can brick tank tengus and jam with them so that’s a bonuse and then u have the ecm frigates but honestly u sit fare off at range with them and shouldn’t be in anyones optimal range any how because jams do fail and u will be an easy target and in regardes to the widow well idk what this means for that
RIP Travel 'ceptors then.
Yep.
Though I do want replacement with something like a nullified shuttle.
(I’d love a nullified leopard)
Who’s the .75 then?
'Ceptors are also used to scout bubble camps… which is particularly useful in wormholes where there’s no local and anything else that tries to warp in gets dragged and probably dies.
For the sake of this discussion, what the reason you want nullification gone from 'ceptors?
EDIT/ADDENDUM: Again to further the discussion, do you think removing nullification from all 'ceptors is something that the majority of the player base wants and/or will appreciate? Do you think it will improve gameplay? If so, how?
Also, while I really like the idea of a nullified leopard, I suspect it will cost MUCH more than a travel 'ceptor does now.
