Dev Blog: October Balance Pass!

all great points, I would only add this:

shortening the cycle time may Seem like a nerf to ecm, but in certain cases, where the jammed target has poor scan resolution, a shorter cycle is actually a Buff for the jamming ship, as he may fail a jam, yet get another shot with the same module before the target is ever even able to get a lock on the jamming ship.

if they wanted to adjust ecm effectiveness, as ive said and as you have said, they could simply tweak some base #'s on sensor strength for hulls, or eccm script bonus, or ecm base strength. I mean, frackin duh!

+1 to this post and pretty much every other post you have replied to @Scooter6976

someone has to call this guy on his crap. I waited over 1k posts before it became too much for me to stomach. the bs pandered around in support of these changes is beyond the pale imo. obvious on its face, devblog chocked FULL of contradictions. to itemize them again would be an excersise in futility. that they responded on the hic changes, and nothing else, should speak volumes to everyone here.

We don’t need anymore token gesture drops in an ocean. You might as well save your breath. All this ■■■■, and I really do mean all this ■■■■, the caps themselves, titans, their production costs, their abilities, it all needs a hardcore nerf, or we need another radical solution in place, like limit caps to only some sections of NS or make them completely unable to hit or even target sub caps, something like this.

Caps should never, ever, fkn ever under any circumstances be able to take out sub cap fleets by themselves without absolutely and completely overwhelming sub-cap support. And that’s the bottom line of it.

and agreed. but inty’s and ecm oh hell such op, nerf now nerf now. fax, meh, no hurry, will get to that after they are done breaking all the little ns counters eh?

its all a bad joke tbh

yep totally agree have posted quite a few on this thread myself for similar reason the other changes dont affect me so much / dont use so dont comment on them, but the ECM change is just nonsense.

To be fair we have had the opinion of one CSM.
Who’s alliance is based in an area close to Jita and a lot from wandering gangs start roams in that area so his responses obviously hold some bias

Max Biados > [17:08:44] Sir Terati > enjoy the last days nullified ceptors
ï»ż[17:08:37] Sir Terati > Rivr Luzade mimimimimimiimim

They even felt it’s necessary to tell a guy in the next system to repost Sir’s local chatter. Nuts. :innocent:

Let me be clear - I am not dismissing everybody who disagrees with the ECM change as “whiners.” I am dismissing Khan Wrenth as a whiner. Scooter too, but he’s less of a whiner and more of my biggest fanboi.

I recognize that folks have differing opinions here, and - as is generally the case - those whose gameplay style is immediately impacted are the loudest voices. That’s legitimate and they have a right to be concerned.

One of the benefits to the type of small change iteration that CCP is starting to do more of is that we can look at the data after the fact and make a determination if a change is bad or good, and if it’s bad we can roll it back. If I am wrong and this ends up being a much bigger change that results in very bad things happening (like people just not bothering to undock), I’ll be the first one out there saying roll it back.

In the meantime, I support the change and don’t think it’s going to be as big a deal as some folks seem to think.

Nothihg. Why would that skill not matter anymore? It’s still going to matter for folks using ECM.

You seem stuck on the belief that the only kind of use of ECM is in one vs. one scenarios. It’s not.

Because that’s not what it is.

Do you play the game because it’s fun, or do you play the game because of CCP’s attitude on gameplay and balance? If the game’s not fun, then don’t play it. You don’t need to like the company or their attitude to have fun playing the game.

I hate EA and I play their games all the time.

I would probably wet myself with glee, honestly.

Your idea for a real nerf appeared to be to shift the income into tags rather than straight isk.

I responded that I would prefer just cutting the straight isk amount. That’s a bigger nerf than just making things into tags you need to go sell somewhere.

I don’t believe that combat ships should be nullified. It’s not that hard to understand. Nullification should be for taxi ships, not for combat.

I look forward to your CSM campaign next year.

Querious is close to Jita?

You play in Querious ?
You seem to be fighting everywhere but Querious https://zkillboard.com/character/883889312/

If CCP stopped allowing 3rd parties to use player stats most of the free intel from local would go away

Our Keepstar is in Querious. Fountain is largely our rental holdings. I don’t spend a lot of time in Querious because that’s our primary crabbing pocket and I don’t like to crab. Our ancestral homeland is in Curse.

Hello,

One active industrial core per asteroid field.

Apply the formula for diminishing returns that exists for stacking ship modules to capital repair mechanics so you can’t pile fax machines onto supers en masse

Some of the faucets flow too smoothly, ratting, especially in supers seem to flow particularly well by all accounts. Rather than engaging in the easy process of nerfing certain ships with the associated collateral damage, perhaps its worth altering anomaly spawn rates, as was done in response to ore anomalies to reduce the massive amount of rorqual mining in certain regions.

So true!

Post the proposed ECM changes if ECM didn’t have a #RAND it might be seen as having equal footing with webs, damps, tracking disruptors, warp scramblers and warp disruptors.

Perhaps the design goal of this change to reduce a target from feeling helpless lends weight to implementing mechanics where all webs, damps, tracking disruptors, warp scramblers and warp disruptors should have a #RAND component to their application?

After all, it might be just a minor tweak and we could see what kind of impact it has.

Amen to that.

Damn that’s a good idea.

And you seem to be stuck on an idea that the only use of ECM and its related skills is outside of 1 vs 1. Its not.

Can you begin his campaign by resigning and taking a whole bunch of other goons with you of off CSM ? I’d be looking forward to the day when CCP isn’t goonran.

I made a post stating that Leshak would step on Dread’s role before Abyss even went live. I guess no one listened, which is the usual case.
