[Dev Blog] The second timer in M2-XFE

Won what ? Even tons of ships you blew up respawned ! And for the other players it’s the fate of any ship in eve so i’m sure they are ok.

What bad choice their leadership took ? The choice to play the game ? CCP knew the CCP couldn’t hold, why they didn’t say “houston we have a problem” ?

My side ? you mean the one i have in my silly asteroid belts ? Again, i’m neutral i just want to debate here. Thanks mate.

gewns made a choice to flood the system with as many people as possible to avoid pvp
they did it once before

CCP has done all they can do, nothing and hope people stop talking about it.

Doesn’t change the fact that one side used server mechanics to avoid pvp and a loss

Now ccp and csm are doing their best to paint it over and create another narrative to cover the fact that one side used server mechanic to avoid pvp

Well that’s exactly the feelings I have too. But I hope to be wrong.

I remember the times when people intentionally jumped in as many as possible to crash the node on purpose …
… and one, who considers this, might think that, if CCP could do anything, they would do it.

They’ve made their software more stable and improved performance massively over the last decade …
… but it simply won’t ever be enough …
… and that’s why nothing is broken
… except the expectations of those who don’t know/understand better.

That’s really sad ! :frowning:

There’s just nothing that can be done until they manage to completely overhaul their code.

It’ll come eventually, because they too will want to be able to spread load across multiple nodes/cores …
… but until then nothing’s ever going to change, except the amount of people required to cause issues.

Goons are really good at meta-gaming.
They’re using their environment to their advantage.

Yes, so the game is broken atm. Because all the mecanics are meant to use big fleets, you can’t kill a keepstar with 100 people you need way more and the defender to respond with more etc … At the end the server can’t hold that.

So why not the change the mecanics ? I don’t care about the server run on a node of xxwxw, if the technology can’t hold numbers change and adapt the game mecanics. That’s i want to see in CCP statement not a “yeah our server broke up” see the logs etc… You understand my point ? @Brisc_Rubal

That’s even more sad, it’s even toxic for the game then.

We won the fight. We killed 166 titans. Yes, a portion of those respawned, but we don’t know how many. Regardless, it was clear we killed more titans without a loss than have ever died in EVE before. We won the most lopsided victory in the history of the game, and it crushed the morale of the other side.

The bad choice was to try to jump 5000 people in one system into another system that already had 5000 people in it. It’s not CCP’s job to tell players that what they’re trying to do may be a bad idea.

No, we brought enough numbers to make sure we could kill as many of the bad guy’s titans as they could. There was no desire to avoid PvP - it was the exact opposite.

Okay, well, it’s clear that you want to have an opinion …
… and that you for some reason can’t let go.

There is no point in your ranting, or your opinion,
and even less of a point in talking about this, because you’re not willing to understand.

As you’re not willing to understand
… there’s just no point in going on.

Can I have your stuff?

Oh and always remember not to believe Brisc’s spinning. Of course they crammed the system full in hopes of getting the node to die, or at least to have issues. They’ve fielded six thousand characters. They knew it’s going to cause issues. The last “biggest fight” involved 6000+ people as a whole, counting both sides!

That’s some quite of a chest beating here. Tell me if this a real kill for you : Ragnarok | Fegnoidina | Killmail | zKillboard ? To me you won nothing apart a sad badge “I was there”.

LOL no mate i’m not going anywhere  but if you come at jita i can trade you a fresh quafe and drink while looking at the stars and continue to speak about the “server ■■■■ up of M2-”

I actually wish I didn’t need to decline the offer. Thanks!

Not only was I there, not only did I anchor the most watched stream of the fight, my side also won. Both sides acknowledge this fact. Not sure why you’re arguing when you have no dog in the fight and you weren’t there.

Because I dislike injustice overall and this event was the worst ad for the game ever. Aall I want for CCP and Eve is to grow because the game deserves it and bring epic stuff not things like that.

There was no injustice here. Some folks made a bad decision - the same people who claim they understand the way the server works and factor in potential server issues into all of their decisions. They are the ones responsible for what happened, not CCP.

We had epic stuff three days earlier. The servers held up just fine. The folks who are trying to pin the blame on the servers and the company are doing so to deflect the heat for their bad decisions.

i like how you can break down this post in one phrase

“player break down the server and blame ccp for it”

Their bad decision was in fact to play the game and bring the biggest battle ever seen in video games. And this was taken away due to some weird things happening on server software/hardware.

Yep I saw that and this fight was epic. Later one not. I just re-read the news about the famous “Fury at FWST-8”. The paper say that you were 8825 in this system and when talk to my friends there was thousand of others characters ready in both staging systems (Goons and PAPI). Why the servers held ? Why people could have jump in all the fight ? Why the servers couldn’t in M2- ? What changed ? What happened ?

As a member of the CSM you have to be neutral and report this to CCP and ask and think about it. Think about good things for the game not only your side mate ;).

gewns made the choice to flood the system to crash it and avoid losing

no amount of lies will change this fact.

that is why there is no mention on mmorpg about this, because they want to avoid the truth

one side chose to game server mechanics to avoid pvp. their csm is here trolling, what a joke eve and ccp have become.

Please answer me this simple question.
Which ‘side’ do you believe had the larger fleet ready to fight. Not just in system, overall which side had the larger fleet online.

csm is not neutrel, don’t let them tell you otherwise. csm is there for their own alliance agenda.
