So I just had a look at Singularity. Turns out they added Amarr style stucco to the Zarmazd in addition to Amarr iconography.
In comparison, the Nergal and Ikitursa have some extremely subtle texture work on some parts of the hull as a nod to their developers, but on the Zarmazd it’s really in your face and - at least in my opinion - out of place.
I don’t mind the iconography (even though it’s most obvious on the Zarmazd compared to the other three Triglavian T2 hulls, both in regards to size and position), but the hull embellishments are just too eyecatching IMO.
E: Adding to this post, all the other ships’ iconography follows the rule that the racial imagery is either on or right next to the hull’s centerline, with the developing corporation’s icon somewhere on the flank.
With the Zarmazd, it’s exactly the other way around while it was impossible to do on the Draugur due to its hull geometry.
Would love to have a Homeworld Cataclysm effect where high sec police get absolutely wrecked so that capsuleers could feel the dread and true horror of being invaded :].
I’m talking about the process as in the invasion isn’t restricted to a site, that Concord and faction police are in the process of being attacked everywhere and if capsuleers don’t help them then yea there will be none left.
I thought about this for a while and you are right. It makes no sense for police forces (not counting CONCORD) to not engage. All I don’t want is that they can be used to make the content easy. I agree that it would be better if the game’s entities acted more like they were actually living in the game.
Yeah, I was thinking have Empire NPC’s provide backup logistics to Capsuleers who land on-grid to combat the invading NPC’s. Could code it so that the amount of backup scales up with the amount of Capsuleers on-grid.
Basically have the Empire NPC’s provide Remote Repair, Boosting, ECM, etc, while the Capsuleers provide the DPS.
See, this I disagree with. That’s way too much help and would make things significantly easier for capsuleers. I want to see them fight alongside us, not helping us. It would just create dependency where there is none needed, because people will begin relying on support from the empires.
At that point they will simply more often demand support from the empires. It’s going to slowly creep into everywhere. People will start pointing out how it makes no sense that faction navies aren’t shooting pirate npcs. They will start pointing out that they should be helping new capsuleers in winning, so they don’t have to suffer from losses. They will start pointing out that empire police should rep gank targets because gankers are “criminals”.
Having the empire’s soldiers rep players would also be absolutely unfair to those who can actually field whatever is needed for dealing with triglavians.
Btw, this isn’t the same as those repping mining capsuleers at a belt. These repping entities belong to NPC corporations and aren’t soldiers sent out by the NPC empire.
I think they plan this as a surprise, with a lot of corporations going to need to scramble defensive fleets to not lose their assets from the invaders. There will be tears.
See now I wasn’t talking about being completely safe with unlimited reps from Empire NPC’s. I was thinking more along the lines that there would be 1 Empire NPC logistics ship fielded for every 3 Capsuleers on-grid.
New players don’t have the skills or the means to field logistics ships. Trying to get them to form fully functional fleets is nigh near impossible. It’s a lot easier to get them to fleet up in DPS ships with a little bit of logistics support from Empire NPC’s. That will teach them how to work together in a fleet and possibly incite them to train into logistics.
Basically I disagree with almost everything you stated, especially the part about repping gank targets being attacked by player criminals. Gankers aren’t invading high sec systems looking to overthrow the Faction that controls that sector of space. They are just citizens who commit a criminal offense against another citizen.
Anyway, I’m starting to think this whole invasion thing is probably going to be just more failed content added to the game like the roaming Drifters, Mining Fleets, FOB’s and Resource Wars.
I care about the new assault frigate and assault cruiser.Their baseline stats aren’t incredible but their maximum rampup of up to 300% damage I can find some use for, maybe
Yeah, but do you really think this is content for new players? How would new players, lacking any experience, be ready to play in what seems to be rather late-game content? Sure, maybe CCP implements some new-player-level-triglavian-content, but I’m not sure that’s reasonable to assume.
Yes, but you’re ignoring the precedent. People will start pointing out that there’s NPCs repping people who would otherwise explode. They’re ignore, as usual, any and all reasoning and just point it out because it’s there. Hey, I wished it was different but that’s simply based on the forums.
Don’t overthink it into something bad, then. Stay open and we’ll see what we’re going to get. In the end we’re just speculating anyway.
A number of my eve contacts have no idea as the information is only found in selective places.
I have to be detective and find eve stuff out, i do have a life i need to focus on here.
