I think this is a good change that helps reduce wasted time while hunting down signatures. Everyone is crying because change is scary.

CCP PR drops promise to iterate
Or COSMOS. Game content that was completely forgotten and ignored by new Agency.
Devs could’ve presented it in some structured way (like epic arcs are presented now) since most web guides about COSMOS are incomplete or gone.
R&D agents, on the other hand, have their own Agency corner with gargantuan 350mil ISK annual profit for 6 agents with max skills and standing
Micromanagement sounds like a term that a Bot would use.
lol ok
If CCP could detect the bot its better to just ban them rather than light them up red + flashy + disable warp drive until a player lands and kills them.
Nah, it would be more fun and would provide content to shoot and destroy the bot causing the botter to have too spend their ISK in buying new ships.
Yeah, good point and I agree. If anything CCP should remove the Cosmic Signatures entry and replace it with Celestial Beacons showing all static and random spawned beacons. That category would include Landmarks, Cosmos, Resource Wars, etc.

Ah yes, making a botter re-buy a 100m fully fit VNI once a week out of their 1B isk per day income stream is providing good content.
As fine an idea as this is, it would involve iteration. CCP’s track record of iteration is, somewhat, lacking.
Hey, did any of you catch the part in the devblog where the Agency doesn’t tell you what TYPE of cosmic signatures are in a system, just HOW MANY signatures there are in total?
No?
Just me?
OK then.

omg this change is just stupid! man this sucks, first they removed smuggling drugs and now they start killing exploration… seems like i cant be smuggler or a real explorer, well then i gonna do mining,… i bet they gonna make this easier (destroy it) too. btw ccp, im a new player(omega account) and i really hate this change! pls ccp, dont add this to live! pls listen to the community!
Summary:
The community doesn’t agree with the exploration changes.
If only you guys (CCP) had the wisdom to spend 5% of the dev time wasted on this PVE bu11sh1t that nobody asked for to fix the real underlying issues that are holding back the kind of content that made EVE what it is: non-consensual PVP.
Stop making the sandbox safer. Make it dangerous again. What is so hard to understand about that?

I mean, I’m part of the community and think this change is fantastic.
“We are aware of the implications of this change and will monitor the effect on New Eden and the Exploration career, with the possibility of balancing and tweaking in the future.”
It is somewhat hard to believe that this statement in the CCP post is anything more than just deflecting any current complaints. There is little to no indication that they will makes changes to this system once live. If I’ve learned anything in the year+ of playing Eve, it’s that if a change goes out, it’ll be 2+ years before it’ll be revised.
I’ll see how this change works out, but my bets are on it ruining the exploration experience, and ultimately I’m unlikely to wait out the years it will take them to fix this mistake.
What’s amazing is, that if they had really asked explorers and explorer hunters in the community what should be changed about exploration, this would have probably not even have been suggested as a feature. But I guess creating pretty new UI elements is more important than keeping people engaged in space.
And to @Sarmatiko’s point, COSMOS actually needed some love from the devs, but instead just has an ancient (but amazing) PDF floating around the internet explaining the craziness.

well seems like u are the only one who likes this lol
the majority of the community doesnt like it, thats the point! or do u wanna play eve online on a singleplayer server?
people like u are the reason why i want a ingame voting system like in runescape so the majority of the playerbase can decide whats good for the game and not just one single person

Good thing you can vote for the CSM! I’m flattered you think my opinion is worth so much though.
I’m flattered you think my opinion is worth so much though.
eerm,… i dont?! do u hear voices or something? lol
btw i dont want to vote for a csm, i want that every player to be able to vote for a ingame change like the exploration thing!
lets say they give us the update and it will only go life if more than 60% of the community vote for yes! thats what i want (this is how it works in runescape)

You are a member of the null sec community and this free intel will be a tremendous boon to Test ratters & miners.
I can understand how your carebear division will love the ability to see new sigs pop up and run for cover especially considering the response record of their support fleet.
This change removes “explor[e]” from exploration.
Without that core element, the profession ceases to exist.
Providing certainty in information is the antithesis of what exploration is about. Exploration is about discovering what’s there, not reading it on a map.
RIP one whole EVE career.

Good for you! Nice!
