Devblog: Final Statement Brisc Rubal Follow Up Investigation

That was their little intrigue to harm Brisc but it failed and they are “too big to fall” and now CCP must suck it up

Great job GOONS

@CCP_Falcon
Are there any plans to implement an appeal- and review process available to everyone who feels they were banned for unfounded reasons, now that it has been proven that CCP will ban people without evidence for wrongdoing and only care about propper investigation if a lawyer gets involved?

What a weak statement, it doesn’t explain what happened at all.

I came to his defence from day 1.

CCP walks back punishment of CFC leadership in the face of pressure from the CFC. Again. Color me surprised.

Blaming someone to encourage playing the game we subscribe to play is … bad?

I agree with you - if there was a prize for spouting inaccurate stuff, you’d be in the top 10 in Eve.

I agree here with you too - if you could pay for plex with feroxes, cynos would be free.

They hired someone who knows what they are doing to draft this one. So they don’t shoot themselves in the foot, and then put that foot in their mouth again.

I have absolutely no idea why, but upon reading the news; the first thing to popped into my head was:

Rubal 2: the Re-Brisc-ening

Again, I have no idea why.

But seriously, I do not know Brisc/Brian at all; in game or out. But I did go to EVE Vegas 2018 and early on a Sunday morning (11 AM LOL), after drinking WAY too much at the awesome Saturday night party with the effects clearly showing; Brisc Rubal showed up at the CSM Roundtable.

The one and ONLY member of CSM to do so.

Over the next 60+ minutes, he deftly, more or less, danced around the questions that were asked of him, answering what he could and deferring when he had to, without breaking his NDA. I left that room impressed with him and hugely disappointed in the other 4 CSM members that were in attendance, but didn’t bother to attend their own roundtable.

We request to see the full un-redacted report within 24 hrs and I think Mr Mueller should testify in front of the CSM to go over his findings. I also think we should activate Space Court immediately with Aryth as the Judge, Mittani as council for the Defense.
Thank you

Who are you and what have you done with CCP?

How many other accounts were wrongfully banned over the years with no follow up investigation? Shouldn’t you do an investigation before banning people? Had someone not threatened to sue this would have played out entirely different. Wow.

The interesting thing here is the fact that there were reasons these players were flagged in the first place. Without knowing all the details, one can only accept and move on with the decision that was made by CCP. However, it is highly suspicious to a newer player, such as myself, how a public figure can be flagged for wrong doing (whether right or wrong) in an online video game and still manage to come out on top.
The real issue then, isn’t the quality of the actions taken upon these people, but rather the publicity that was directed toward the situation as a whole. This CSM 13 is clearly a position of importance for this game. So, why wouldn’t CCP post an event such as this on its own forum, public or otherwise? It is the outside influence that took and ran with the story that made the issue public outside the forum walls. CCP may have some indirect responsibility for this result. But, to hold them responsible is akin to accusing the guy who forgot to lock his back door for accessory to theft when the thief need only to walk in the unlocked door. CCP should not have backed down for these individuals, nor any other. Because to this new player, I see only the fact that CCP capitulates to individuals of influence.

You banned Stunt for a lame joke out of game. Are you going to ban Doom for fanning the flames of doctored Discord logs?

It is not really very amusing reading harsh condemnation of an apology from people who probably never apologized for anything in their lives without mama there twisting their ear.

And if you don’t want to ever hear an apology or ever be informed about anything that is going on or ever be listened to by CCP ever again, I suppose jumping all over CCP while they have prostrated and begged for forgiveness is a great way to do it.

But now that CCP has apologized to everyone involved and even everyone not, I wonder which forum members are going to step up to the plate and eat all their crow like a man as CCP just did? Not seeing all that much testicular fortitude so far. (I do see you Arrendis and respect for that). And let me remind you that a REAL apology includes a statement of EXACTLY what you did wrong plus a promise not to do that ever again. (Although CCP and CSM members are exempt for a variety of reasons, every regular forum member/ player can).

Thank you CCP for keeping us informed as much as it seems possible, all things considered. I hope the immaturity and over-blown self importance of some players won’t prevent that happening in the future as well.

Well at least you admitted your error and trying to fix the damage already done. It feels weird to proceed to such a clear cut declaration of ones actions without first doing thorough research. Especially when concerning a person that his job depends on his public image.

I won’t play expert here or an oracle declaring that I was convinced about his innocence but indeed it seemed very odd that a person would risk damaging his job just to gain a nonsense advantage in a computer game.

But then I wont say I am shocked that I see this kind of moderation where someone gets banned without ever having the opportunity to defend himself. Its common theme for decades now online.

On the other hand none is perfect and we all do mistakes, sometimes small ones sometime big ones. The good out of this is that it can act as a lesson to people to not jump to conclusions without first doing thorough research.
