Devblog: Final Statement Brisc Rubal Follow Up Investigation

I do seriously think that they should all be forced to play the game for an hour a day. Especially the devs responsible for balance and core mechanics changes.

Had a reply to a support issue recently that said little, then finished on this note: “While I can’t tell you what we are going go do exactly, as it is to early in the development process, I can tell you we are working on it”. Is this relevant to the current post/issue? Well you judge but it does seem to indicate that these guys are struggling to communicate, or are too exhausted to succeed.

By CCP misunderstanding what they were saying, probably. It happens. CCP’s admitted the error was on their end, and the CSM can’t release much of a statement without clearing it through CCP, so… :man_shrugging:

I mean, if they reasonably believed it to be true, they can still report incorrect information for investigation in a responsible manner.

next time, ban him without reason and just refer to the EULA.

There have been 10,000s of alleged NDA violations that resulted in a ban? Do tell.

Really love how the community followed the CCP lead with all this and danced all over his real life and brigaded him

Ah, the Special Events Team has been busy, I see. It must’ve gone something like this:

“Hey, you did such a bang up job on Guardian’s Gala, why not hang out with the CSM and see if anything seems fishy and report back to me…”

“Sure boss, if that’s one thing I can do, is make something smell real bad…”

It’s a wonder I am able to still log in and spend a few hours doing constructive escapism. The concept of “effective leadership” seems to have vanished worldwide, and replaced with a massive contagion of dumb and dumber.

I was stunned at the complete reversal of events, hardly believing what I was reading. After reading the entire thread, just who is calling the shots at CCP? Do you guys put on fake mustaches and glasses when you leave work???

Oh, so only the NDAs get an investigation, what a clever way of limiting it to the elite.

The past has shown that no, they wouldn’t. I’m sure there have been a LOT of false positive bans that never get overturned, because CCP’s policy has always been 0 communication and recourse to those banned. They literally will not respond to you if you get wrongfully banned, and this fiasco is evidence that they don’t really have to have any proof.

Funny part is, this only seems to go for stuff that doesn’t make them money.

Thousands of obvious botters? OH we can’t do anything for 2 years cuz we have to be ABSOLUTELY SURE!
Hearsay that may possibly be linked to RMT/affect their income? BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN with no due process!

I’m honestly surprised this company hasn’t gone bankrupt already by their decision making process. Well, I guess they kinda did, all of those failed projects they were pretty close until they spent a year prettying themselves up for a buyout. Still amazes me that Pearl Abyss bit the bait. Bet they wish they hadn’t at this point.

Well, I guess that’s the best outcome given the circumstances. At least they quickly owned up to it. They need to set up another CSM to oversee their oversight of the original CSM to make sure CCP doesn’t make any more blunders in overseeing the committee that helps CCP avoid blunders.

Wonder how many others you guys have banned for invalid reasons, that you didnt have the decency to investigate like this afterwards.

CSM was created as a response to t20, so its refreshing to see it hasnt changed a damn thing in regards to how you guys treat clients internally.

I’m not impressed by the way this was handled.

Absolutely does CCP have the right to protect EVE’s assets and properties. Our lovely bunch has proven time and again that it is not beyond serious shenanigans to get an unfair advantage. That part is not hard to understand.

Knowing this is the case, a lot more care could have been taken to be 100% positive of the truth behind the allegations such that members in good standing, and representatives of the CSM to boot, would not be humiliated by having to suffer the most drastic measure the company can take.

It speaks to the integrity of CCP’s process that they can publicly admit to having made an error in judgment and that they are working to rectify the problem they caused for these pilots. So much embarrassment and annoyance could have been avoided by not making the mistake in the first place.

I want to be able to trust CCP’s judgment when it comes to these matters. The underlying reason is the protection of EVE Online and our stake therein. That will be made so much easier when this kind of situation does not occur again.

Brisc Rubal and the other two pilots are due a serious mea culpa and some compensation for damages suffered.

well at least the goons get a Fair review cant say that for anyone else but what do you expect when the police police the police it seems you can be banned for lies against you and INTENT no action just depends on who you are think its time to clean house and revamp remove all GM’s and CSM find a better way to overwatch the game

The way this read, to me, was like someone playing the meta game to discredit a political opponent.

After all this time I really did expect CCP to be a lot more in tune with all the shenanigans our merry bunch yanks out of the magician’s hat and be circumspect in the way they handle that.

Somebody’s eating crow at CPP HQ this week.

true…

What really bothers me is 1. the way CCP presented immaginary facts in the first announcement
2. that CCP has shown to be perfectly fine with banning people without evidence for wrongdoing and
3. that normal players don’t get the oprion to force a propper investigation if they get banned for unfounded reasons…

People spend thousands of hours and/or $$ to get anywhere in this game - CCP owes them some inegrity when it comes to decissions like this and this incident has shown that this is not the case… :frowning:

Congratulations to CCP for cowing and buckling to the largest power block in EvE.

You should have stuck with your initial assessment, if you truly had evidence. But you decided to play EvE partisan politics and claim that there weren’t violations based on still unknown evidence that you haven’t released. It’s just your word that they did and now they didn’t violate an NDA.

Who owns your game, your Universe? You (via PA) or the Imperium?

It looks like the latter. And it’s a damn shame.
