Well, that’s embarrassing.

Does this mean loyalanon’s case will also be reviewed?

@CCP_Falcon wanting to hear it directly from you guys:

  1. Has he been offered his seat back on the CSM?
  2. If so, has he accepted his seat back?
  3. Is there evidence of bad faith in having initiated or manipulated the ordeal, knowingly without grounds, for the purpose of hurting Brisc and his associates?

I’m sorry but this has been CCPs arrogance for years. Many people banned with little evidence and then CCP not responding. It’s pretty unforgivable tbh. What’s annoying more typical eve community jumps and the bandwagon and abused brisc too. Wheres your apology

What has transpired over the years, is that there is very much a laissez-faire attitude at CCP, in terms of management.

And this is a major issue.

CCP is a game company that has struggled to stay afloat for years, failed multiple projects, bloated its revenue for a year and miraculously baited PA to buy them. This points to a rotting cancer inside the company’s mindset itself.

Abysmal management. From top to bottom. Zero leadership, nor competent directors.

This all culminated in a PR disaster of galactic proportions and CCP will be the joke of the game industry for failing harder than Valve at this. And that seemed impossible for the longest time. Congrats on taking the crown from the uncontested incompetence champions of the world.

Now moving forward, I think there are some fundamental things to review, in terms of management, or lack thereof. Since having proper processes internally for getting ■■■■ done seems an impossible undertaking, there is only one thing to do.

Hire. New. People.

Fire the entrenched fanboys working at CCP that climbed the ladder, whom have absolutely no professional experience outside of CCP. I mean those fanboys do not even play the game anymore. It shows so much, when all you do is hire intern-grade staff.

Hire an experienced Managing Director / COO, who will reorganise this nonsense.

Fire Hilmar, he is nothing but a doorstop at this point and has the least amount of charisma possible to lead a hot-dog stand, let alone a video-game company. You got your payout, now shoo, let a real professional take care of things.

Also, now that Daddy is a korean company, it will not help your cause, since the work ethic and behavior towards consequences is just as third worldy as CCPs.

I am so sad to never have had faith in CCPs management concept. Now I don’t even know where to turn in order for them not to prematurely murder a game that is already on life-support, thanks to blunders such as these.

Very frustrating.

This was a messy chapter in EVE history, but it has been resolved properly.

Swift action was taken with the intention to protect the integrity of the game. Upon a proper investigation it was discovered that was handled poorly. Apologies that were required were issued.

While there’s lots of bad decisions coming out of CCP lately, this is not one of them.

Brisc Rubal never had the intention of posing as CSM in the first place. But apparently when he unveiled his RL position to his corp mates, they kept pushing him to campaign. So he did. And he did it with passion and proactive attitude. If you read the CSM Minutes, view his campaign and various other public eve online discussions (prior to the attack), you will note that Brisc is no amateur of life or of Eve online. You will know Brisc was one of the very few to be able really bring positive change.

But then happens that he gets banned, without being able to communicate nor to ask details from CCP. And this whole mess gets viral on the internet media, mean politcal comments start to errupt and affect his RL integrity. (It’s not rocket science CCP, with 15 Years of experience, you should have known how to mitigate this particular case!)

Now, when the game that you trusted, and vox populi that you represented, and the friends of the same CSM that you befriended, begin to gut you out, and all this interferes with your RL reputation, and while you aren’t allowed to liase within the game to explain yourself - well put simple, it’s some sort of near-death agony situation.

Eve online did not only affect Brisc, it impacted all of us. Tomorrow this can be any of us thrown under same bus. So think about it, how would you have dealt with alike situation? Would it have been forgive/forget or logoff/walk?

CCP have done some good damage control today and I feel much more confident about Eve. We must remember Eve is still CCP’s baby and they will always be defensive at the slightest sniff of cheating/corruption.

I’m glad they investigated it properly and arrived at the right conclusion. Hopefully brisc and the other 2 FC’s will get super duper compensation like a large amount of isk, ships, or modules or even a years free subscription.

Everyone makes mistakes and it’s all about acknowledging the mistake and doing your best to make it up to the affected parties.

I’ll give you credit for admitting you were wrong, but that’s literally the only positive thing about this fiasco.

What did you learn from this mess and what kind of systems are put into place to prevent it happening again?

ok, so when CCP baned Brisc/pando/shines, you supported the ban and thought “CCP is right, they obviously have evidences supporting their decision”
now they cancel the bans, why don’t you think “CCP is right, they obviously have evidences supporting their decision”?
You accept CCP decisions ONLY if they follow your opinion? Very smart and mature way of thinking

I sort of have to agree I’m afraid. Hilmar should of left CCP years ago and probably is arrogance has filtered to the rest of the company. Time he went hes for a few million I the bank now.

If they haven’t learned anything over the last 15 years then there’s not much hope of that.

Exactly. What the flip went on here? If Brisc etc weren’t profiting from NDA information does this mean no-one was? Was there a scam and someone else made a score and shifted the guilt?

This isn’t finished yet. At some point I would like to know exactly what the timeline was, not holding my breath tho.

To everyone who thinks that CCP reacted too swiftly and/or harshly in banning with this incident, let me point to the T20/BoB incident of days long ago, where a CCP developer was actively assisting an in-game alliance by funneling them lucrative T2 BPOs. This went on for a while, CCP was initially slow to react, and their handling of the situation generally damaged their public image. If I had to wager, I’d guess that they came down on Brisc and the others harshly and swiftly in order to avoid even the appearance of a similar situation.

Hopefully, now that the pendulum has swung both ways, CCP will be able to handle such issues with a more steady hand in the future.

Brisc stated hes not coming back to the csm. He may run again. If you filter @Arrendis posts, they quoted briscs stance on coming back.
