Even so, that last skill point isn’t enough to make the ship useless.
Do you think PA is stupid and didn’t check predictable playerbase before buy. If f2p users get more and more content to play why should they ever upgrade? CCP actually losing money on them. This is what I predicted with alpha status, it will be stretched more and more until may be dangerous for omegas gameplay, and here we are…
Alpha content is limited by skillset and available ships. There is point to stop giving more to alphas but not to restrict back
No you don’t. You just want to play for free. If everybody would think that way, EvE won’t last another decade. You missing the business model behind “EvE is free” it’s free till you stay long enough to pay for more. You just want to stay for free.
Got actual data on this claim, or just assumptions and speculation?
the Game developers are making a mistake eliminating the few thing that the alpha players have in the game, theres no emotion on playing a game that limits you.
When you have free 2 play model you must ATTRACT players to give you money not FORCE them. CCP tried to cheat like they cheated everything else but failed a big time and they are here now…
In the meantime investors waiting for their 200 000 000 $ and Hillmar did not found a way to secure it
Assumptions. F2p trial model did not work. Playerbase is shrinking. Yet some part of them is still here playing and not paying.
You know, this is probably the only game I have ever seen where so many of the people playing it actually take joy in what they perceive to be the company failing.
How many are PLEXing? How many SKINs are they buying? How many Extractors/Injectors/Multi-Character Training certificates? Without those numbers, you can’t say that f2p isn’t making money.
And you doing so by increasing f2p options? What next? F2p carriers? They went to far with alphas, understandable that going back will hurt.
Paid from time to time when I wanted to access some things outside of highsec but now it’s time to stop
You miss it big time. Restricting alphas is not solution. solution is to offer new and better content to omegas !!!
I should have used more sarcasm, but I’m glad you see this point to.
“No you don’t. You just want to play for free.” “You just want to stay for free.” Um, excuse me, but are you calling me a liar? How do you know my intentions? I already said I intended to buy PLEX…
“You missing the business model behind “EvE is free” it’s free till you stay long enough to pay for more.”
And allow me to go back to something I already said, which is whether I encourage people who buy PLEX to sell me more for ISK, or I buy PLEX myself with cash, it’s the same, dude.
If you want to know my full plan, I was planning to get my L4 security thing going and well established, a few ships, buy PLEX, get Omega, get Tech II and faction battleships, like a Paladin and maybe a Nightmare, then once I felt comfortable with that as an enjoyable source of ISK, I might start dipping my toes into PvP and nullsec.
But the whole plan is shot, or at the very least made much more tedious, by putting L4 security behind Omega.
Every L4 mission running alpha is effectively accused of botting and RMT with this “update”. What’s next?
Not that i have anything against this, but it seems strange that you think this is the biggest issue…
Have you seen the ammount of bots running anoms in 0,0 using navy vexors compared to bots trying to run level 4 missions?
This makes no sense to me, you should much rather have made it impossible for alphas to warp into anoms in 0,0 then this. That would have been a much better focus of your time.
Then subb and stop whining or try another activity that pays more.
Problem is that many ISK-earning activities that still not proposed for restriction are only for wormbears and nullbears
Yup, sad move from CCPs part
We didn’t say this is the biggest issue, just that this is a low hanging fruit.
For instance, making changes to anomalies that would prevent alphas from entering them would mean putting them behind an acceleration gate rather than having direct warp in access.
Putting them behind a gate would mean that the people inside them had longer to react to a two-stage warp in, making them safer areas of space for people to evac from when hostiles enter local, which would assist people botting and make it harder to hunt them.
Looking at anomalies and many other aspects of the game will take more development time than making a change like this, so we’re looking at low hanging fruit first before we look more in depth and larger changes down the line if they’re needed.
