This will actually make Rorqs a little safer. Spread out rorqs make it harder to tackle multiple Rorqs, in a big blob, they’re easy to tackle multiple Rorqs.
An SP refund on rorq skills for those that want to get out of them would be nice, this is the third significant nerf of Rorqs.
Really? Balanced, as opposed to what? Overpowered compared to what? This is a jack move to drive plex sales nothing more.
I think it is a lore thing, where nullsec get t2 hence moon mat’s, and wh’s get t3 mat’s but then WH’s should have moon’s that give t3 mat’s rather, that would at least balance it out and wouldn’t be that hard to implement.
After nerfs to yield and boosts to boosts we are looking at a whole different perspective. will be talking about a 10 to maybe 15% more yield for a Rorq vs Hulk at 33 times the cost.
I’ll get you your tinfoil hate to wear while you keep raging over no longer receiving the most dank ISK/hour while being immensely risk averse and completely safe in the Imperium.
Dude I struggle to make isk, and it’s dangerous. Roaming gangs that kill capitals constantly. You have no idea. Spoken like someone who doesnt fly a capital so he wants them nerfed. That’s childish.
Well said!
If you can’t defend your space and your ratters from roaming gangs thats kinda sad
I’ve seen you bringing this up numerous times as well.
That’s not how it works. Or any of it works.
Did you get 285 times as much ISK from ratting in a super, as opposed to a VNI? Because that’s how much more expensive the super is.
Or did you get 10-15 times as much ISK from ratting in a super, compared to a carrier?
The answer is no in both instances. ISK making doesn’t scale linearly with the cost of the ships you’re flying, or the SP you invest.
Prior to these balance changes, people were still ratting in supers, and carriers, even if the proportionate investments vs reward was way worse than ratting in a VNI.
And the exact same model is applied to mining as well.
So no. You’re by no means entitled to have a proportionate reward to the cost of a Rorqual, when comparing it to a hulk or a covetor.
I have a rorqual, a carrier and a dreadnaught. So who’s actually being childish here?
I know your “delivery” service will be loving this…js
Hah you have no idea, even Goons struggle and are powerless at times. Bombers bar and spectre fleet form on us constantly and these groups are good at what they do.
That is true, but in effect it takes the mining platform aspect away from the rorq. in addition, the almost guaranteed loss of 2 excavators along with the rorq if you lose it.
Again, this seems aimed at only small group miners , not massive alliances. Sad day for the little guys.
pretty sure goons still make tons of isk, despite the losses, if your struggling to make isk there then your doing something wrong
Init space actually, and only takes one big form up to wipe out your capital in seconds. It’s not as safe as you think.
The rorq is still the best mining platform in the game. Dunno how you manage to turn that into the mining platform being completely removed from it.
And quit it with trying to white knight for the ‘small group miners’. The ones who seem to be exceedingly more butthurt about this than anyone, are the crabs from the big NS blocks.
and you have to wonder about people suggesting that the rorqual should just be a support ship when it is the only one that can use excavators. . sure sounds like it was intended to be a mining platform to me.
The rorqual existed way before excavators were a viable (and seriously overpowered) option.
To me that is more of a calculated gamble. If i lose a ship in pvp it’s because I did something wrong or simply got outplayed. Not usually that a longstanding game mechanic that i spent forever getting skilled for was invalidated with a few keystrokes entirely outside of my control. I’m going to say that’s a weak comparison made in poor taste.
Is this your first experience having ccp nerf/change a ship you like to fly?
