This is what skill extractors are for.
So if you are in the big corp like Imperium you make isk if you are the little player in little corp you are dead - There is NO way you going to make the isk for a carrier before loosing your ship so this update just kill the little guy - Now learning the game i understand that most veteran players have 25 accounts to make isk and plexing not paying for the game i have 2 accounts that is minimum if you fly a cap and pay with credit card paying for the future of the game . This update just killed all i have work hard for and is no way i can make isk in my corp and i am NOT making 15 new accounts so i can make isk for pvp or making 35 mill an hour x account because of this. So for the big guys that ccp want to STOP making so much you change the game so the big guys is making less and all the same and the little guy making ZERO in a eve world where 1 guy have 30 accounts cloaky campers in your sys 24 hours a day and make it very hard to make isk and now no warp you finished - - Me just very angry over that i wasted 3 years gaming to loose it all in one very STUPID update !!! The only thing i have now is finding a new game to play .
Soooo much to say about right or wrong, but so few time.
Only thing i will say is give EvE the magic 2 back: locktime and firepower. Rest will get settled easy.
Also.
The tears around hereā¦
VNIās are the most AFKed ratting ship, and thus the most common botting ship.
Most games can tell if someones is afk just boot them off the server until the relog PROBLEM SOLVED
So the people who use the VNI the most, āthe nullsec linemember krabā as you so disparagingly dub us, we should take the brunt of the nerf, the income dive, and have to spend even more time crabbing to reach the past income levels, even though in numbers and number of accounts we probably constitute the bulk of CCPs income? Just because a tiny āleetā group of exploitative EVE users are botting?
Thatās probably not a good strategy for neither pleasing the bulk of burgeoning or already hardcore EVE fans with 2-5 paying subs, - neither is it representing our interests so if youāre not supposed to represent the interests of a bulk of the players as CSM then Im hard pressed to see what function you serve or why your constituents voted for you
- no but seriously, maintaining the overall playability of the game IS serious for us - those of us who love the game and feel we need it and it entails far more than looking after our incomes I can see that, but yeah, this hits us hard - as well as it adding frustration to the game and the gamer instead of enjoyment, now that he has to look at his nerfed VNI for hours on end every single day, month after month - remembering that it used to be better, so hm, I dont think this was a very player friendly move all in all. And even a large part of hiseccers finally end up VNI ratting in null or lowsec after a while so⦠well - thatās that part of it.
But okay, I can of course also see the clear need to get rid of as many botters as possible - but that this is the only best/optimal way, that I dont see. Nor do I see that condescending talk and a open negative attitude towards a large part of EVE players is contributing to a good gaming environment or attitude between players.
As an older man I have no problem taking the nerf, but kids and youth with no income and no bank account or VISA thats regularly credited starting to play EVE or having only one account will probably feel it if they have got a fair bit into the game and just joined a larger corporation/alliance, so I dont feel or see that this is conducive to creating a better player environment, or a better experience for anyone - and that MIGHT be a very important part of retaining players, creating a better reputation for EVE as a game, word of mouth etc. NOT hearing people (the main bulk of ratters) complaining for the next 12 months or so, until someone realizes or admits that it was a mistake⦠not admitting it is kind of even worse - since it just shows that you amplify disdain for a large group of players who already spend more than the average player on the game by a factor of 200-500% often.
Again, for me it makes little to zero difference economically, since I do have an income, but I am concerned for the game, and I want to see EVE player numbers increase, not dwindle - precisely because I love the game so much.
And finally I have to admit my āhiddenā motive - I shudder to think what hideous ugly alternative ratting ship I will have to stare at for the next 12-24 months or more - all depending on how stubborn CCP policies and policy makers turn out to want to display themselves as⦠not trying to be rude here - I thank all CCP employees for their service(s) to mankind and EVEkind in particular - I appreciate their work more than most things in life as it gives me relief and rest from the rest of insanity.
So ye, please reconsider the VNI nerf at least CCP - find another way / other ways / many other ways to attack and deal with botters other than nerfing our dear VNI , and dont listen to that guy - he doesnāt represent me and probably not the bulk of ānullsec linemember krabsā either
Man this is amazing. If you want to make some extra isk on the side you should take commissions to write incomprehensible copypasta for /r/eve
THE YIELD IS FINE FFS RORQS ARE FINE THE 5 MINS OF CANNOT DO ANYTHING IS MORE THEN ENOUGH AND ALREADY BEEN NERFED 55 times JUST REMOVED IT FROM THE DAMN GAME AS WELL AS ALL CAPS SO ALL OF US CAN GO PLAY SOMETHING ELSE.
Iām not sure if those changes are best way how to tackle over excessive rorqual mining across the universe.
Perhaps reversing industry index (more mining => less ore in system) or making belts less attractive for rorquals (small asteroids like in ice belts) would hurt large scale minings opses but leave individual small miners unaffected and promote using barges as well.
Imo biggest problem with barges is that you need to constantly empty your cargohold, which is extremly repetitive and boring. With rorq you can watch movie or play another game easilyā¦
EVE has never done that, and it shouldnāt start doing that now - thatās a drastic change that hits a large number of other areas unnecessarily.
sorry, wrong reply.
i bet u dont even own one, and know nothing what your talking about ITS A FUCKEN CAPITAL MINING SHIP THAT MINES AS FAST AS 2.5 HULKS WHICH IS A CRUISER SIZE SHIP IF ANYTHING IT SHOULD BE MINING MORE AGAIN PEOPLE OPENING THER DAMN MOUTHS WHEN THEY KNOW NOTHING. ONLY TO SUIT THERE PERSONAL NEEDS AND WANTS.
Suitonia probably doesnāt represent the bulk of the nullsec linemember krabs, but as one of the hallowed GSM reps, I can probably lay claim to the mantle of nullsec linemember krab rep (since I am a nullsec linemember and a reformed krab), and I happen to agree with him.
This is a modest nerf to VNIs, and one that helps to both combat botting - botting causes everybody more problems, especially since it drives up plex costs which directly impacts the point you were making before - and to take a way a little bit of the AFK ability of these ships by making you have to keep an eye on your drones a bit more.
The VNI will still be the go to ship for scalable sub-cap ratting, especially since other drone platforms like the Gila also got hit.
DEAL WITH THE BOTTERS AND NOT THE SHIPS THEY ARE FINE ALL OF THEM EXCEPT FOR LOKIS
Your caps lock is on.
Itās actually an elegant metaphor for the game right now.
So what, Iām a casual player, I actually pay for my subscription. I donāt want to be spending hours every day grinding for ISK just so I can have fun on a Saturday. I rat in my VNI and spend the ISK to buy ships for PVP. Thatās all Iām interested in doing in this game but if CCP wants to force me to spend ours grinding for ISK w/o actually doing what I want to do in the game then well they will not be getting my subscription money every month. Iāll switch to alpha and login from time to time to do some frig pvpā¦.
Thank you for clearing that up, as we have just been hearing tons of rumours and worst case scenarios - and people older players have been painting a bleak picture to noobs like myself who do not understand the mechanics too well. So ye thank you for those calming words, I have no problem having to watch my VNI a bit more, I do so anyway, since I live in null and have to watch for reds in system anyway - and I still feel the VNI is too expensive to just AFK, maybe Iām a space poor/stingy krabber but so, if it will actually impact the game more positively than negatively I will put myself behind it in.
What was (mundane/trite or stereotypical as it may sound) most concerning was a real and felt dent in the income of the line member and/or something that would make the (longer term) ratting experience (even?) more tedious - but if all my fears and concerns are unnecessary and superfluous then noone is more happy than me. Again. I hope it is as you say and I sincerely thank you for easing the minds of at least this enthusiastic EVE player.
If youāre actually paying for your subscription, then thereās no pressure to be out ratting constantly to plex your accounts. I do not expect that the VNI change will make a huge different in your income, and if the VNI doesnāt work anymore, you can always upgrade to another ship. Iāve ratted in VNIs, Gilas, Ravens, CNRs, Rattlesnakes, Nids, Thannys, Nyxes and Hels - there are plenty of other options if you donāt want to VNI rat anymore.
In the end, this change, at least, I think will have more of an impact on bots and AFKers than it has on actual people.
a) Put down the crack pipe and back away slowly.
b) You know you just said āscrew youā and ranted⦠at yourself, right? see (a)
Do you two know one another?
