Looks like no reason is too dumb to hold up new players as a shield for the own discomfort with a change that will probably impact mainly vets.
I think I could use that sentence on every second thread in this forums

Holy crap I just realized what CCP is about to do…
The only way increasing taxes on player stations makes sense is if station owners are compensated somehow. If taxes go up then that would solidify NPC markets…
…but there isn’t going to be any NPC markets shortly. CCP is going to wipe-out most NPC stations via the NPC wars(Drifter + Tringle people). CCP will compensate stations by leting them be the only stow in ton (well other than other corps)
CCP is about to unleash chaos on HS (and this will be great!)…but of course, restrained chaos. I suspect rolling purges by the Tri-folks burning most NPC HS stations to start soon (fall)…
(sorry dinner time…more soon0
So all of these skill bellow that adjust taxes and broker fees are fear mongering? or are they just more skill that need to be trained? and how did you pull fear mongering out of this conversation? Are you hangry?
Social = Connections = Increases your standing so you pay less in taxes.
Diplomacy = Skill at interacting with hostile Agents in order to de-escalate tense situations as demonstrated by some of the finest diplomats in New Eden. 4% Modifier per level to effective standing towards hostile Agents
Connections = Skill at interacting with friendly NPCs. 4% Modifier to effective standing from friendly NPC Corporations and Factions per level
Criminal Connections = Skill at interacting with criminal NPCs. 4% Modifier per level to effective standing towards NPCs with low Concord standing. Not cumulative with Diplomacy or Connections.
Diplomatic Relations = Skill at negotiating ally fees with Concord. Reduces cost to hire allies in wars by 5% per level.
If they do this the game is over.
interesting, this could make isk opportunities for the long haul gamers
if this does happen (and i am understanding what you are implying) it would move the major markets, and several corps and large horders could start making some great sums of isks by selling off all the loot they have been holding onto instead of selling
I hope you’ll realize someday how stupid you look when you talk about things you have no idea about:
The Broker Fee only take unmodified standings into account, so skills that increase your effective standing, such as Connections or Diplomacy, do not have an effect on the fee.
taken from this official source.
https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Faction_Standings
BrokerFee % = 3% - 0.1% × BrokerRelationsLevel - 0.03% × FactionStanding - 0.02% × CorpStanding
so yes they do affect costs at npc stations
sorry im not always very good at explaining my self
they do not directly affect but are used to indirectly affect the costs by the increased modification of npc faction & corp standings in relation to npc station fees these are not nesasery but they do to a degree have baring
People here really need to calm down and relax a bit from time to time. I mean its a common thing that eve players are most overthinking species in gaming industry and everylittle change will receive a 200 site essay about the tinyest little things.
It is still a game.
lemme link a great article i read a few days ago about blackout: https://imperium.news/why-the-nullsec-blackout-wont-fix-eve/
especially eyeing on some of the wordings in the end. YES ccp will try alot of things and YES ccp WILL fail at alot of things. THATS gonna happen. but they need to experiment with things right now and we also need to let them experiment with things. A change to the game is not something permanent but making changes into a working ecosystem can sometimes be really tough to do and to decide on if you re in the deciding position. I know it might be shocking for some player on why they simpls dont do that or dont do this because its allways so damn easy to say things from a player perspective but sometimes a little trust isnt a bad thing. Also remember eve is ongoing since how many years now? how many other games survive that long? So there are some things the devs are doing right in order to make that happen in the first place. At this point eve almost become their life task in a way and as i m sure you would not straight up let something die you worked 16 years for, so i dont the devs will do.
so just let them experiment, and be happy to be part of an interesting time of changes happening. have fun with the game, enjoy your time and we all see where this journey will go.
he talked about some people being too rich… and there are also some people expecially the forum soldiers who simply talk too much on everything. i mean just for a moment, think about that for a second. People here demand changes every time, and everytime ccp is simply experimenting with stuff for possible changes they will get bombarded with critique. imagine it would be you in that position. You ll get bombarded with critique for everything you ll try. wouldnt that be a huge pressure? wouldnt it be natural to hesistate with changes due to that? just let them experiment ffs and either play the game or dont.
The secret is that CCP knows how to separate most of the baseless entitled whining from actual criticism and constructive feedback.
CCP has done this enough times and they’ve seen enough crying from carebears who don’t know what they’re talking about or entitled bads who demand the game the change for them so they don’t have to improve. CCP is smart enough to filter out that from actual feedback.
which part of “take only unmodified standings into account, so skills that increase your effective standing, such as Connections or Diplomacy, do not have an effect on the fee” you do not understand?
Really guys!!?
Playing EVE from 2006., and welcomed some good things you made for the changes, but lately, you are ruining the game. There are lot of stupid decisions in past several years that brings nothing good to gameplay except ruining it.
Blackout brings nothing good so far. Now, you are crushing the spine of Eve … the Market.
Are you guys stupid or what?
“Stupid is what stupid does” - Forrest Gump.
Come to sense!!
The weak must fear the strong. Adapt or die, friend. Welcome to EVE, if you actually have been playing since 2006 you seem to have forgotten a core part of EVE. HTFU.
thanks for trolling
Looks like you’re still not getting it.
HTFU. And welcome to EVE.

Good point.
The free SP promotions through the year do the same thing: allow players to circumvent the normal flow of game play to receive the reward immediately. If one uses those free SP, one hasn’t got much to say about any other circumvention.
Is anyone else baffled by the level of incompetence here? We want to make it easier for new players and harder for vets, therefore the veteran markets that’s run by null empires is going to be the one enriched by this move and the new players are taxed significantly.
What are we smoking CCP?
but hey get plex 15% cheaper to buy MORE SHIPS AND GET MORE ISK ^^ what a joke
